Arya’s pov
It took three hours give or take before we saw them again, Lynn directly showed me a thumbs up and I knew she succeeded and besides, our new family member looked worn out.
Aqua and Lynn talked for a bit before we separated in Lynn’s words they were going sightseeing so we split up and we headed back to the hotel.
We had sex for a while before I went to pack our luggage while Aqua slept, with everything packed I joined her on the bed and slept off with her in my arms.
We woke up early the next day as our flight was at 09:00 so we were up by seven, and reached the airport ten minutes to nine. Without dey, we were on the pne and on our way back to Aria.
Commercial pnes are created to well stop sights as you can’t see in and you can’t see from outside, but the design also made the pnes faster than necessary.
We arrived at Aria by 13:00 and with the luggage in my hands, we headed out. Aqua was covered fully so she didn’t attract any attention, my eyes locked on the figure of Vin after we had left the airport and we went to him, quickly putting the luggage in the boot I bid them goodbye and hailed a taxi to the Lord’s mansion
‘I miss her already’
Deciding not to dwell on it I checked the test news regarding THE LEGEND OF AZRATH as we’ve not logged on in a while and there wasn’t any difference yet which was understandable, the game hasn’t been out for long yet.
It took an hour before the taxi finally reached the Lord’s mansion which was located in the western part of the city. The mansion was elegant, to say the least, simple but elegant.
The taxi stopped at the gate and I paid him the due credit as I called Grandpa.
A few seconds after the call the bck gates opened and the security guard allowed me in, he led the way as I silently looked at the scenery along the way.
We entered the elevator and went down to the ground floor when the elevator opened I smiled when I saw Grandpa as he held my wrist and walked out while saying
“Finally, do you know how long we’ve been waiting for you?”
I ughed, in all honesty, there was nothing I could do about that. It was luck that when they called we were about to come back else they would have waited longer but disregarding that, I still wasn’t sure what I’m needed for
“I’m here so it shouldn’t be an issue anymore Grandpa. What exactly is the issue?”
“You have to treat the immortal.”
I frowned, that sounded too easy to do.
“Just that? Nothing else. That sounds boring Grandpa.”
He didn’t reply me as he opened a metal door and went in, pulling me with him.
There were three people present in the room, Lord Aria, A tall woman who held Lord Aria in her arms and a man in a white coat.
I ignored the two and simply bowed to Lord Aria when Grandpa pulled me in front of her
“You don’t have to bow child”
I looked at her with a smile and simply said
“It’s etiquette Lord Aria so, Grandpa says I’m needed for something?”
Lord Aria accessed me for a while before looking at Grandpa as I looked around the room that was filled with tubes
“Mr. John, are you sure your granddaughter can deal with this? We can’t afford any mistakes”
“Lord Aria rest assured, she’s never once failed in anything she does no matter how halfheartedly she might do it.”
“Unfortunately” I mattered quietly, nobody should have heard me but when the other woman finally set her gaze on me I wasn’t so sure, I didn’t look at her as I looked at the pod lying in the corner, I might be wrong but someone looked to be inside
“Arya?”
I looked back at Lord Aria who just called me while replying
“Yes?”
“Do you know the theory of heart in body and life in another?”
I frowned.
‘Do they know something?! But she shouldn’t say anything…’
“Yes, is there an issue?”
Lord Aria kept her gaze on me and I was honestly a bit startled but I didn’t let it show, the most important thing is to be calm, extremely calm
“Can you realize it”
It took me a second to understand what she meant as I was secretly relieved as I looked at the four people in the room, moving behind Grandpa when I saw the obsessive gaze of the man in white
“Easy. Who needs to not own their life?”
Lord Aria’s face showed surprise at my answer, Grandpa probably had a proud look on his face and as for the two other people in the room, well
They took me to the pod and silently opened it, I looked at the naked bald woman with scars all over her body silently
“How does an immortal end up like this?”
I was confused but the person that answered me was one I least expected
“An extremely stupid one”
“Right…”
I frowned as I felt her pulse
‘immortals are fascinating!’
Her pulse was barely there but she was still breathing. Oh, this is going to be fun!
“She’s about to die though? Do I save her first or give her life to another?”
I received three surprised looks as the man in white appeared in front of me, his eyes hectic as he said
“You can bring her back to life? How?! All her vitals are destroyed she’s barely holding on! How!”
I quietly moved two steps back and said
“Depends on what Lord Aria wants me to do”
“Is there a difference if you give her life away before saving her”
“Well, not just that with the way her body is currently it will be annoying. I would prefer to save her life before giving it away but like I said, up to you.”
Lord Aria looked at the woman holding her and said
“What do you prefer baby?”
‘oh, baby? They’re lovers?’
Everyone settled their gaze on the woman who sighed and finally said
“Save her first”
“Awesome. Since that’s settled let’s talk about the most important part.”
They set their sights on me again and Grandpa coughed a bit but didn’t stop me otherwise
“What’s that?”
Lord Aria’s inquiry brought a grin to my face as I said
“What’s my payment?”
The two women’s faces showed amusement but the man in white on the other hand said
“You collect a payment, you’re not crazy about research, this is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity!”
“One in a lifetime opportunity sounds like a lot of money to me sir, especially since my client is the Lord, so Lord Aria. What do I get”
She smiled and nodded
“True. What do you want as payment?”
“How much credit are you willing to give me?”
“Just credits? You don’t want something more tangible?”
“Nothing is more tangible than money Lord Aria! Especially since I have a wife to spend on!”
“Then five hundred million?”
I was speechless, how rich is the Lord! This is ten times the amount I was going to ask so I nodded quickly
“Yes, that’s good, amazing actually! I will start immediately.”
“Right almost forgot, I’ll need an immortal that will hold her life as well a mortal will die.”
“He’ll be here tomorrow so you can work in peace. Mr. Allen will assist you throughout so you don’t have to be polite”
I nodded and swiftly escorted them out, I needed peace if I was going to do this as I went back to the pod, carried her out of it and pced her on the X-ray machine to estimate the damage.
Ten minutes ter I pced her back in the pod as I checked the results with Mr. Allen
“How did she acquire such damage?”
Mr. Allen was also looking at the results and looked more surprised than me
“I have no idea child. So where do we start?”
“We’re going to need new body parts”
“Don’t we have to take a test to make sure they match?”
“No, that won’t be necessary. As long as we don’t need to do a blood transfusion, right!”
I quickly went back to her body and sliced her wrist, I frowned as bck blood flowed out from the injury, Mr. Allen was silent for a second before saying
“Do we now have a problem?”
I sighed as I bandaged the injury and washed off the burning blood from my hand
“How high do you think the rates are that one of the immortals has the same blood as her?”
Mr. Allen frowned in thought as he said
“High? But, they don’t have the same blood group as mortals, we don’t even know what their blood mutated to!”
I sighed in annoyance
“That’s not my question Mr. Allen, how high do you think the rate is?”
“0. What do we do now?”
I didn’t want to do it this way…
“Pn B.”
“What’s pn b?”
“Drain and pump”
Mr. Allen was quiet for a second before he ughed as he said
“You’re crazy. I love it, I’ll send for blood”
“I’ll set up the machine, Mr. Allen please hurry, this woman is not going to be my first failure”
