Chapter 16
A Metropolis city squad car approached the Titan tower carrying 3 officers, the first was chief of police Carla Perez, the second was the head of the missing children's division Bell Conroy, and the driver was the lead detective of homicide investigations Ryan Sayre, given the calls nature they should have had someone from metahuman investigations with them, but that whole department had been busy dealing with an unnamed threat in the subway tunnels under central Metropolis, so the 3 of them would have to do, they pulled up and Carla pushed the button by the door.
Dick and Barbara had already been watching them from 10 floors up,
“Are you sure about this, what if we’re wasting time? I saw first hand how this can get in the way” Barbara was sitting on top of a desk, her inhaler sat beside her, after an x-ray Dr. Thompkins had had to perform surgery on her to retrieve pieces of her fractured ribs from places they shouldn’t have been, now her torso was wrapped tightly in white medical bandages, though she was still in pain as she had refused painkillers so as to not cloud her mind.
“We need their help, and we need them to trust us, and know that we’re trying to work with them not against them” Dick answered, his finger hovering over the door lock release button,
“We can’t risk Alice life because you want to prove you’re not like Bruce, no dick swinging contests” Barbara said sharply, Dick looked her in the eye,

“You know I wouldn’t do that, they know this city, we need their help” Barbara sighed,
“Ok” She agreed reluctantly, Dick pressed the button.
Robin stepped from the elevator, into the lobby, the 3 officers had their guns pointed at his chest,
“I’m unarmed” He announced, Bell lowered her gun, after a suspicious once over Perez did the same, Sayre, however kept his pistol trained on the uppercase yellow ‘R’ on Robins chest, “The Titans need your help”
“On the phone you said 1 of the Titans was missing?” Robin recognized Bells voice from the phone earlier, he nodded,
“Yes, she was abducted while on assignment this morning” He said,
“Does this have anything to do with the calls we filtered to you guys this morning” Chief Perez asked,
“Yes, 1 of our squads responded to reports that Floyd Lawton was in Metropolis, it was a setup, when they arrived Lawton shot the squad leader, the 2 others got seperated, 1 was injured by Lawton, the other was abducted” Robin explained,
“Give me a description, I’ll get all of Metropolis looking for her” Bell said,
“Not a good idea, the man who took her is named Jarvis Tetch, if he thinks we’re close he’ll freak out and kill her” Robin said,
“How do you know who has her?” Sayre asked,
“The squad leader was injured, but witnessed the abduction, we’ve dealt with Tetch before, in Gotham” Robin answered, Sayre turned to Bell, taking his eyes off Robin for the first time since he’d entered the room,
“Get a dozen of your people looking at traffic cameras, hopefully we’ll get lucky” He said,
“We’ll need a description, and somewhere to from” Bell said, looking to Robin,
“We’ve got a video showing the car from 2 separate sides, and a starting direction” Robin said,
“Then let's get to work,” Perez ordered.
