Under the night, instead of viewing the sparkle of the stars, Fausto was staring at a dazzling blue ring. Despite its beauty, it brought more baggage than glamour. He had tried everything to put it in the shadows, but Arondight was really a piece of work, as it never would let go. Thankfully, after compromising with Arondight, it went to the right hand rather than the left hand. But it didn’t make it better as Karma and Leonora both thought how incredible it looked. Since it was stunning, they instantly figured that it had to be given by a girl. For that reason, they didn’t talk to him at all. In fact….he was kicked out of the house.

  “haaa…I thought I told you to tell them that it was just a ring you bought…”

  “I did, but they asked if they bought it from a girl or a boy. But I don’t know, as the old man never gave his name. But then they got mad. Saying that we were hiding something.”

  “Then say something!!”

  “Yeah but they wanted a name.”

  “Then why don't you say a fake name??

  “I did, but they then researched the name and asked for the last name. Unfortunately, they did find such a person. And it was a pretty girl….”

  “Yeah and it was an actress. How did you choose that one?”

  “It's not my fault!! How was I supposed to know?” Fausto was getting mad at Faust for not knowing common famous people. Faust just recalled the name of a woman he had helped a while back. He didn’t know she was an actress.

  “You keep up with the news, so you should have known.” Fausto was saying, as usual, Faust is the one who is good at knowing these things.

  “World affairs, not entertainment.” Faust pointed out that he didn’t care about those as he wasn’t even interested in movies, so actors and actresses are far from his knowledge. “Yeah, now we....oh seems like we got a call…” Just as they were arguing with each other, an encrypted call came in. Seeing who it was, Fausto then got ready to be Menace. Though he hates doing Faust’s job, he does the job every once in a while to keep their cover.

  “Menace, this is Gilius. We are starting the operation soon. Attack as planned. At the crack of dawn, please attack the key points that are needed for the operation to go smoothly.”

  “What happens after….” Fausto was going to ask for more assignments, but Gilius hung up the phone. Guess he didn’t need to act as Faust after all. “Hmmm, what do you suppose the mission is afterwards?”

  “Don’t know? Feels like our mission seems to have ended after this.” Faust said as he was thinking of something.

  “Hmm, should we tell them???” Fausto said as he was wondering if he should inform the two girls at home.

  “No we'd better not. If we were to inform them, especially when they are safe, it would cause more problems. Better let them stay home and rest.”

  “Agreed, but just in case things were to happen….” Fausto then called someone. “Hey, it's me...yes...time for your so-called acting...yes you can use my ID...fine but don’t do anything with other women… What do you mean this is why I’m single!!” Fausto was then shutting the phone. And just like that, he then warps into the shadow as he vanishes from sight.

  Back at Leonora’s mansion

  “I can’t believe that he would wear an accessory like that!!!”

  “Yeah, that bastard. After all the things we've done for him, he would go and do something so stupid as to wear something from a popstar.” Both Karma and Leonora were in the bedroom as they were drinking their frustration away. This morning they were training, and the first thing they saw was him having a ring on his hand. Jealousy got to both of them as despite it not being a marriage ring, it was really pretty and looked like it came from a girl.

  “That Idol!!! What is so special about her? Just because she got curves, a good voice and has a good personality doesn’t mean she can take any man she likes.”

  “Umm hmmm tomorrow let's go and see her. Elisabeth, that woman deserves to be taught a lesson.”

  “Yep she does. Besides…..”

  “He's mine!!” Both of them said as they then looked at each other in confusion.

  “I mean he is ours,” Leonora said to make things more appropriate.

  “No no that is not the point. What do you mean he is ours? He is just helping you out. It's not like he is interested in you at all.” Karma thought that she was the companion, and she was the test subject. Though she still doesn’t know what that means, it seems she is on a higher ladder than Leonora.

  “You would think...but guess what.” Gesturing for her to come over. She then got closer to Karma’s ear. “We kissed and he saw me in undergarments!!” Leonora then turned red, thinking about that moment. It was so memorable as she noticed how cute Fausto was.

  “Wha...what...what...happened??” Karma said as she was in disbelief in what she said. But Leonora was turning red as she was being so giddy like a child who got a new toy.

  “Do you want me to describe what else happened?!!! Well, I …”

  “No no don’t talk anymore.” Karma then got dejected, hearing that Fausto was getting hit on by Leonora. “And I thought I finally found someone who was my type haaaa….” Leonora then giggled when looking at her. Thinking that he was being a player she was thinking she should lose interest in him.

  “Karma silly, he does love you.” Though it was obvious that Faust had been chasing Karma, it didn’t seem to bother Leonora at all. In fact, she is willing to accept another. Especially since polygamy is legal nowadays with everyone. Though it really does suck with divorces, it has really given more options for many people. Karma, though, doesn’t seem to follow the same sentiments as she was wanting a devoted man. Hearing it from Leonora’s mouth, it would seem like Fausto wasn’t the type of person who wanted one. So those words were hard to believe.

  “But..but why does he do stuff with you??”

  “Because I am pursuing him. It's not the same with you.”

  “What do you mean??” Karma was confused as to what is going on?? This then made Leonora smile as she drank her wine before heading to bed.

  “Never mind. I can't be the one to ruin it.”

  “Wai,t what do you mean??!! Tell me?????!!!” Karma was trying to pull the blanket away but Leonora held on tight.

  “Nope!! Good night!!!”

  “Tell me!! I need to know!!!”

  “Let me sleep!!!”

  “No!!” Having their girl talks, both were left unaware of what transpired around them.

  At the hospital, General Lee was unconscious as he had been bedridden since the accident. Right there next to him was his wife, who was watching over him as she wanted to wait for him to open his eyes. Although most of his family had been there initially, they all had left to return to their normal lives. What was left was the wife and the guards who had been rotationally protecting him.

  “Ehhh…” Eyelids were starting to move as Lee, who had been unconscious, was starting to see the sun. Little by little, life was coming back.

  “Dear, you’re awake!!!” Dropping everything, she then got closer to check on him. Even the guards looked as he started to move his hands.

  “Whe...where..am..I?” With a weak voice, he tried to say those words as he looked around.

  “We are at the hospital, dear. You were shot during the event and Dr Fausto was able to help you come back to life.” The wife said as she grabbed his hands.

  “I..I...see…” Despite finally waking up he desperately tried to get up. Though he understood the situation, he couldn’t help but feel ashamed of being in this state. He knew he had to make up for his failures now that he had a second chance at life.

  “Dear stop, you just recovered.”

  “No I need to get to work.” Trying to get up, he soon collapsed as he had no strength.

  “Be at ease. Gilius have been doing your work. Just let him do it.” But the instant he heard that he got more rattled, as that was the worst fear he could have ever imagined.

  “No no I have to stop….. him!!” This then surprises the guards as they find it surprising.

  “Sir what do you mean? Didn’t you choose him as your deputy because of his talent?”

  “No….no...I..made him my deputy because I could watch him…” Which then alarmed everyone. “Go call the soldiers right now. Tell them to capture..him..cough cough..”

  “What do you mean?”

  “Just do it!! Cough Cough…” Lee ordered. Hearing that, the guards immediately rushed out.

  “Dear.. who is he…?” Confused, the wife wanted to know. It was too late, however, as he had already used up what consciousness he could muster.

  “That bastard is….” Those were the only words that could be mustered before falling into slumber. He fainted to unconsciousness once more, leaving his wife to once again tuck him in. The wife then looked out to see the sun's horizon. The motion has been set, and the cast has been fielded. It was now time for the main event to arise.
