Arriving at the hotel, they both took off their disguises as they were able to relax. To ensure no one was overhearing, Fausto made sure they got a penthouse so they could talk without anyone listening. This was a bit excessive, as this was giving the wrong impression. Even Leonora was getting all red thinking they were going to do the deed. However, Fausto, giving his usual lonesome demeanour, quickly shot that down.
“Well now we are here, we can talk. So why do you play games?” Fausto said as he was rather surprised a lady who is part of the twelve families would play games on time off. Shouldn’t they be doing important stuff? No one knows this but those who are from the twelve families since a child at the age of 6 would go to an academy that their family set up to raise them to fight for the order. No matter which gender, they would be taught everything. Math, science, communication, history, swordsmanship, driving, shooting, politics etc. They go through rigorous training, so depending on which family, they each have their specialties. With those trainings that last for 20 years, they really don’t have a lot of leisure time. In fact, once they get out of the academy, they have the chance to enjoy what normal people would be able to do, like shopping, video games and dining. So to spend this much time freely meant Leonora never went to the academy at all. In fact, Leonardo had just finished his training a year prior. Forced to a different route, Leonora had a sad life that she had to experience alone.
“...Can you keep a secret..?” Leonora said as she was acting rather sad. Both Faust and Fausto were curious as to what was the secret when they knew mostly everything about her body. But then again let's not know it all and just say yes.
“Of course.” Leonora then grabbed some water before finally saying what she wanted.
“You see I've been called the curse child of the family. I haven't been blessed with the abilities like the other and the life of others….Diviners are supposed to live for seven hundred years if they don’t become broken.”
“Yes, I recently examined them. Their bodies are crazy. I must say they are truly unique beings.” Diviners do have bodies that are superhuman. The energy from light makes them immune to all diseases and defects with such a powerful energy in their body they are able to live a long life. The light energy also regulates the body so that it never has defects, even later in their career. A dream for many humans that money could never buy. That was the same for Leonora as well. Except….
“But my estimated life will only last 50 years….” Leonora said sadly. She looked at her hands as she felt so old. “I’m only 26 years old...half of life has run out. And not only that I can’t even use divine energy in fear I might die even sooner…” This then got them rather curious because Fausto was thinking how did they come to that conclusion?
“Is that why you get to choose your career as a surgeon even when you are supposed to be training to be a warrior?” Among the twelve families, there is no such thing as healing since they are protected by the light. It was a rarity to need a doctor as no disease can kill Diviners and with light energy protecting them from attacks. It was pointless. End result will be fine unless they didn’t use energy like Joseph earlier who got knocked out by Faust. There were no families or anyone from the twelve families that worked in medicine.
“Yes, because of the short amount of life. I was the first in the order to be ever excused from training as I was given freedom to do whatever I wanted for the rest of what's left of my life.”
“I see and did they ever say what was the problem with it?” Fausto said as he was then checking her pulse and her body.
“Uhm..they said that my body was already broken and that if I were to use it I would burn myself out instantly.”
“Based on…”
“The fact that I once tried to shoot energy and they said I almost died from it. They tried to read my energy but it was showing broken energy numbers. It was so bad they were scared that if I did anything… I could die.”
“I see….” Fausto said as he talked to Faust. “Faust looks like we won’t need to be worrying about the order using her as a spy.”
“Yes because they didn’t realise that the number wasn’t relevant. If they noticed no cracks on her body they would have known that at that young of an age she could release that with ease. They missed the mark so badly. It's not like she can’t use the power because she is weak but the power is too powerful for even her to even control which causes massive backlash.”

“She isn’t a curse child but a blessing.” Knowing the pain it seemed Fausto who usually would be unemotional about it started to care for her. Though he does find her a bit annoying. He knows the feeling of having a shortened life all too well. “It's probably because they don’t have anyone who can diagnose her, which is the reason they couldn’t see it. Something that you can do.” Though he didn’t want to be a surgeon, Fausto eventually came around believing he should share the same kindness that was given to him.
“Leonora.” Fausto then grabbed her hand more strongly than before.
“Yes…” This was something that he never would have said but even if he wasn’t a diviner or a surgeon who could fix this problem. He for some reason felt like he had to say it.
“I will help cure you.”
“But…. they said.”
“They said but not me.” Fausto then helped grab the necklace that she wore as she still wore it even when in disguise. “This gift I gave you wasn’t because I rewarded you for doing a good job. This gift is because I want to help you. Help you be what others say you couldn’t.” Helping her, Faust did something that no one has ever done. “Hold out your hand.”
“What?”
“Hold out your hand?”
“Uhm”
“Just trust me. Hold out your hand and listen to what I say.”
“Mm..okay.” Listening to his words, she did what he had asked as he put his hand out. Fausto then held her hands tight. It was rather unexpected from Fausto which caught Leonora off guard as well as she was wondering what he was asking her to do. Though the red cheeks were giving away that she was thinking rather dark. Something that Fausto wouldn’t think of as he was very innocent.
“Now think of something in your thoughts. Think of an image and imagine it appearing in your hands. Feel like with these hands what you are wanting will come to reality.” Wanting her to use her divine energy, Fausto was going to do something a bit dangerous. Leonora didn’t notice but Fausto was sweating a bit.
“Okay imagine…hoo.” Taking a deep breath, Leonora did exactly what she was told as she close her eyes. Not realising what was happening her body was glowing as the divine energy started to seep out of her body. Just like before at the hospital the energy was starting to go rampant as Fausto hands started to burn within seconds of making contact with the divine energy. However unlike before where it was starting to be uncontrollable, the necklace soon lit as the divine energy started to pour into it. Flowing a majority of the energy into it, the rampant divine energy started to grow smaller and smaller making it less painful on Fausto.
“Now its my turn.” Now that it was more controllable, Fausto had to do the same as before but without the kissing. Absorbing what the necklace couldn't, he injected the divine energy into his body so that the energy Leonora was going to use was something she could control. It was still burning Fausto insides. But enduring it as he knew what Leonora was going to see was something that she would forever remember. “Open your eyes now.”
“Okay.” Opening her eyes, she suddenly noticed a bright light in front of her. Slowly as she widened her eyelids she was growing more and more in disbelief. Something was in the palm of her hands. It wasn’t just any object that could physically touch nor was it an illusion. It was a warm feeling that she had always wanted to feel. Divine energy. “Thi…this..this is….”
“Congrats. You are a diviner.” She had divine energy in the palm of her hands. Fausto didn’t know why it was the shape of a heart but he didn’t think about it as he said words that she couldn’t ever fathom to hear from even her own family. Pulling the divine energy to her body, the energy started to flow back into her as she could finally feel something that she had always felt missing. Something that had always defined a Diviner. Divine energy was coursing through her.
“Sniff..sniff.” Leonora was starting to cry like a child because that was the first time someone told her that in her entire life. Not only that, someone was able to help her get what was missing. No one has done more than what Fausto had. With joy she grabbed hold of his hand as she cried while holding it. “Sniff...urg...thank..you…sniff sniff”
“I know you are happy but note that you are going through some heavy training from now on. So please..take it easy for tonight as you will have to endure for now on…. Okay?” It took a lot to help her get to this point, but Fausto knew with time She would be able to control her extraordinary gift.
“Sniff mmmm...I will...sniff”
“Good girl, now come on, get some sleep.” Fausto then helped her rest as he helped get her to bed. Unusual from his usual persona he was showing a rather tender side of him he would never want to show. It was even to the point that he would let his guard down. This was to the point of her getting comfy as she kept holding on to his hand. “Uhm aren’t you going to sleep?”
“Uhmm.” She nodded.
“Then why are you..” Fausto stared at the hand but Leonora shook her head.
“I want to hold your hand while I sleep.”
“Ok..ay..but..”
“No, don't stop. Keep doing it!” Faust say.
“Why??”
“Because this is a good reference!!” Faust then was thinking about how this would work. “If I make her like that then how good will it be!!” This excited Faust as he was brainstorming new ways to attract Karma.
“But..but I wanted to play a few more games….it's rare I get some time off.”
“Don’t care, just do it.!!!” Faust ordered. Fausto was trying to get rid of her grip but then seeing Leonora sleeping so peacefully he couldn’t help but look at how cute she is. She was acting like such a child. It reminded him of how he was when he was a kid holding on to someone’s hand.
“Looks like movie night for the both of us…” Fausto then got his holographic screen as he decided to watch some dramas as that was all he could do. Usually since both Fausto are awake they both get to watch tv together. Since that is the case both use that time as a bonding between the two. So much for gaming night.
