A gift to a Ladies heart...I think?

  A Few day later

Back in the hospital, as it was 3 in the afternoon, Karma was now getting up. She felt like it was rather tight. Wondered who it was just to see the beautiful face of Leonora lying next to her. Unexpectedly surprised that Leonora was still sleeping, as she had slept earlier than her. But seeing that she had a weaker constitution than her, it was understandable. The only thing that wasn’t that Karma was jealous about was how soft she was and even bigger than hers to the point she wondered why she slept so well. Slowly moving Leonora’s arms away, she quietly got out of bed. Looking around, she tried to find some water. But she then looked in amazement as the table in front of her had a bunch of roses.

“What the hell is this?” Karma said as there were so many flowers. She looked to see who it was from. Looking around she then saw a letter as it came from...Leonardo…. Thinking about it, Karma recalled the unfortunate thing that happened a few days ago. She kissed him which then gave a big misunderstanding. “Haaaa……” She then looked at Leonora who was waking up.

“Nnnn….I’m hungry, is there anything to eat?”

“This is all your fault…” Karma said as she threw the flowers at Leonora.

“Ah! Hey, what was that for?” Looking at the flower,s she was smelling it. “What do you mean it is my fault? I told you I didn’t take your last piece of sushi.”

“No not that!!! And don’t lie to me, I saw.” Karma said as she then showed the card to Leonora. Looking at it, she was excited.

“Oh give me the deeds!!!! Are we going to be sisters??!!! Tell me more!!! I almost forgot about that.”

  “There was nothing that happened!!!”

  “But you kissed him, right?’

“Yeah..no..ok it was because..” Karma was trying to explain but it wouldn’t make sense because it really didn’t make sense.

  “Because?”

“It's just your fault!! Why did you have to be this way?” Karma was shouting. But this then hurt Leonora's feelings really badly as she dropped the flowers.

  “...I’m sorry….I didn’t realise...that I was...such a hindrance...s.” Leonora was starting to cry before Karma comforted her.

“I’m sorry..I just got mad. I didn’t really mean it.”

“Sniff sniff..but,sniff..its..true….” Leonora said as she was looking at her body. Like a nerve struck, bad memories soon overwhelm Leonora, which Karma never realises. Leonora always had that confidence in her every day. So to say something and be that affected, Karma knew that it must have been something traumatic. “Sniff...i”m..mm...we…weak…..”

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

“No no you are fine the way you are.” Karma then gives Leonora a glass of water and rubbing her back to calm her down. “Look it was a misunderstanding alright let's just pretend nothing happened okay?” Apologising to Leonora, it seemed that she was able to regain her composure rather quickly. She in fact knew that Karma wasn’t saying it on purpose so she let it go very easily even when it hurt badly.

“...Okay,” Leonora said as she calmed down.

“Excuse me?” Livia came in as she was wondering if anyone was awake. “Oh good, you two are awake!!” She then came with a bunch of gifts.

“What are those? You got them from a secret admirer and want to show it off to us.” Karma said as she still felt bitter about Leonardo and the misunderstanding. She really needed something to get her off of him. Then something seemed to have answered her call.

“No, actually it was from Faust, who wanted to give each of you a gift for your hard work.” Livia then handed each person a box. Each contains a letter with something. This then got Leonora excited.

“What is it, what is it?!!!!!!!" Leonora grabbed the box in excitement as she was looking for her name. “Why didn’t he give it to us in person?”

“He says he needs to do something and will be back later,” Livia said. As she was finding it weird. “Anyways, open it, see what he gave you!!” Everyone was soon excited as they wanted to know.

“Oh, he got me a necklace, isn't this beautiful!!!” Leonora presented it on her neck as she was looking at herself in a mirror. Karma was smiling as it looked really nice, as it had a gold crystal chained to it. It was such a beautiful design.

“And what about you?” Livia said as Karma then opened it. Everyone then looked to see the gift wide open in the opposite way.

  “You gotta be kidding right?....”

“Maybe this is the wrong gift?” Leonora said. They then look at the card.

“No, this is for sure Karma's name.” Livia reaffirmed. They then questioned how in the world did he could think of a ribbon as a gift. The three then looked at the gift. It was a weird, plain purple ribbon. They then look at Leonora’s gift, which was sparkly and beautiful, with nothing plastic touching it. Comparing the two it was an obvious difference.

“Well, it matches your hair.” Livia said.

“Yeah..yea..it does…” Karma didn’t know what to do about this. But seeing Leonora, who was putting on her necklace, was really making Karma feel...jealous. How did she get the better gift? This ribbon looks old, like from an antique store. Something in her was growing in her that she had never felt before. She then looks at the letter that was meant for her.

Leonora, make sure you wear this everyday!! You look really good with it. As it then showed a nice thumbs up. Karma then looked at hers and said...the best gift I can come up with so far with a heartfelt. Crumpled as she destroyed it as she was angry at those words.

“That bastard said it was the best gift for me…” She being furious was an exaggeration of what she was feeling. Livia and Leonora were scared by her. “Where is he right now???!!!”

“Uhm...uhm he is..doing an inspection right now.” Livia thought. Karma immediately left as she headed there right now. “Wait.. but …” Livia was going to say something but Karma had already left the room. This then left the two who didn’t know what to do but this.

“Well what do you think?” Leonora said as she put on the necklace. Livia then looked at it.

“Hmm...this really does suit you very well. In fact, I bet this is also a lucky charm for you.” Livia pointed out as she stared at the crystal. “You know, compared to my mentor, yours is so much nicer.”

  “Really, what do they do?”

“Haaa..He doesn't make me work hard at all and is always watching over me. Every time I’m done with work, he always has food to give to me. Not to mention, he keeps giving more books to read. Haaa….it is so tiring with him.” Livia was complaining, but these were all nice things. Then this was the one that made her teacher amazing. “He even gives me stuff that her wife doesn’t want anymore. And the wife even comes here to treat me nicely as well. I can’t stand them.”

“....You really have something messed up with you?” Leonora questioned before taking pictures of herself. Putting this around her, she really did like it. It felt so natural as though it was meant for her. Without noticing, there was a light on the necklace as something was starting to glimmer. Yet it only seemed that one of the two noticed.
