Chapter 49: The Start of School (2)
Xīngyè walked alongside Teacher Liu, answering some simple questions while they strolled. Taking a closer look at the teacher, he appeared to be very young, only 27 or 28 years old. Among the class advisors, he should be the youngest. The seventh class was probably the most difficult in the entire grade, yet such a young teacher who had graduated not long ago was assigned as their class advisor. Xīngyè thought it over and felt that it wasn't right.
If it weren't for young teacher Liu's teaching methods, the only reason is that Class 7 is too difficult to teach, other teachers are not willing to go, and this newcomer was pushed forward and sacrificed by everyone.
Mr. Liu walked into the classroom, and the noisy classroom immediately fell silent.
"There's a seat in the back, you sit down first and we'll adjust later," said Teacher Liu to Xing Ye.
Seina nodded and walked to the back of the classroom, almost everyone in the class was staring at her. Seina sat down in a seat in the second-to-last row near the corridor, politely nodding and smiling at the boy next to her, only to see him reveal an ecstatic expression, even deliberately leaning inwards and tidying up his things on the desk towards the inside.
The man behind punched the back of the man next to him and said, "You little brat has good luck."
Xīngyè felt amused, the young boys and girls in their youth still retained some childishness. She looked around and found that many people were staring at her. Xīngyè smiled back at them with confidence, but most of the boys immediately averted their gaze. However, they couldn't help sneaking another glance within ten seconds. Some girls responded with kind smiles, while only a few turned their heads away in disdain. Xīngyè noticed that those who turned away were undoubtedly not pretty girls.
Alas, these are still a group of big kids. Although I look no different from them in appearance, there is an insurmountable generation gap in my heart!
"Classmates," said Teacher Liu on the podium, "now that you're in your second year of high school, everyone has been divided into arts and science classes. Some of you were originally classmates, some were from different classes, and there are also new transfers. So, regardless of whether you know each other or not, let's have everyone introduce themselves briefly below, so we can all get reacquainted. We'll start from the front row, one by one."
Xīng yè watched as her classmates stood up one by one to introduce themselves, most of them being very brief, but a few boys trying to show off and telling jokes that made everyone burst out laughing. Xīng yè tried her best to remember each person's name, and when it was her turn, she confidently stood up and simply said: "Hello everyone, my name is Luó Xīng Yè, I just transferred from another school, and I'm very happy to be able to study with all of you."
A soft murmur rose from below, but Xīng Yè didn't mind and continued speaking. As soon as he finished, the boy next to him stood up, "Hello everyone, my name is Wáng Xī..."
After everyone finished introducing themselves, Teacher Liu appointed a few temporary class cadres, who were actually students she had taught in the first year of high school. She said that the formal appointment of class cadres would have to wait until after the monthly exam, and then let everyone vote to choose.
She asked a few boys to go to the administration office to get new books, and when the new books were issued, Xīng Yè discovered that her school bag was suddenly full, and some of them couldn't even fit in. This was still after the reduction in science courses after class division, and she couldn't help but sigh, thinking that the study tasks in a key middle school were much heavier than in her original high school. Before, she hadn't felt like there were so many exercise books, let alone monthly exams.
"Hello,"
Looking up at the starry night, it was a girl in the front row who greeted her. She had short hair and a slightly chubby face. When she smiled, two small tiger teeth appeared, making her look like a very cute little girl.
"Hello, is this Chu Yuanyuan?" Xing Ye said to her.
"Do you know my name?" Chu Yuanyuan's eyes widened in surprise, she didn't expect Xing Ye to remember her name.
"I just knew from your self-introduction that you were in Teacher Liu's class?" Xing Ye said.
"In our first year of high school, Teacher Liu taught our class Chinese, but she wasn't our homeroom teacher," replied Chu Yuanyuan.
"I've always been with Teacher Liu, and Teacher Liu is a good person." The boy next to him, Wang Xi, chimed in.
"Who asked you, what are you interfering for?" Chu Yuanyuan said irritably to Wang Xi.
Xīnyè duì Wáng Xī'ān wèi de xiào xiào, běnlái bèi Chǔ Yuàn yuàn de huà dǎjī dào de Wáng Xī, lìkè yòu huán guò jìn lái.
"Does Luo Xingye live in school?" Chu Yuanyuan asked.
"I'm going to board at school. I heard that there will be evening self-study next semester, and it's too much trouble to come back and forth every day, so I've decided to board after all." Xing Ye explained.
Chu Yuyun heard Xing Ye say that and pouted, "I also said I wanted to board at school, but my mom wouldn't let me. She's afraid that if I board at school, I'll just play around and neglect my studies."
"Tell her slowly, if your home is nearby it's okay, but if it's far away and she has to go back home after late-night self-study, it's not only inconvenient but also dangerous for a single girl, so it's better to live in the dormitory." Xing Ye said.
"Yes, my home is not that close either. This semester, many people have boarded, and I also want to board. At least five days without listening to my mother's nagging."
Staring at Chu Yuanyuan with a look of chagrin, it seems that this little girl has taken boarding school as a good thing, probably just to get away from her parents' control.
No classes in the morning, and school was let out early. The school is still very humane, after all, they have to give students time to pack up their dorms and buy meal tickets at the cafeteria.
"Starlight"
Xing Ye was just thinking of going to find Jia Luo when she heard her aunt calling her.
"Aunt, how did you come here?" Xing Ye looked at his aunt who was walking over with Director Li.
"I'll come and take a look at you, help you arrange your dormitory, how about that? Are you still getting used to this class? If not, Auntie will help you switch classes." Liang Huiru's words were directed at Xing Ye, but she glared at Director Li. This old Li had actually assigned Xing Ye to Class 7, which was the worst class in the entire school.
"Uh, okay." Seeing Li Director being glared at by his aunt and shrinking his head, he quickly said: "This Teacher Liu is indeed very kind although young, I think we don't need to change classes."
"Let's go and see what else your dormitory is lacking," said Liang Huiru, seeing that Xing Ye didn't want to change the subject.
"I'll go with Jialuo to find him," Xingye said, and coincidentally, just as he finished speaking, they saw Jialuo coming out of their classroom.
A few people arrived at the girls' dormitory first. This building was originally a place where boys were not allowed to enter, but because of Director Li's accompaniment, no one stopped Jia Luo.
"This semester many students have applied for boarding, and there are not enough rooms." Director Li explained while walking.
There is a living teacher leading people up to the third floor, and Xīnyè's room is at the farthest end of the third floor.
The dormitories of Tianda Affiliated Middle School are generally six people per room, which is already not bad compared to other schools. The life teacher opens the door and walks in quietly at night, also a six-person room, with a row of small lockers against the wall, two desks joined together in the middle, very simple.
Director Li looked at Liang Huiru's expression and knew she was a bit unhappy, but when he looked at Xing Ye, the girl's expression was calm and didn't reveal anything.
"This room is also for six people, but now there are only two students living here, so it's still quite spacious." Director Li explained.
As expected, under the starry night sky, I saw that there were only two lower berths with bedding, and all the other beds were empty.
"Aunt, it's not bad at all. In my original school, the dormitory with the least number of people had eight people in one room, and if you were lucky enough to live in a large room, there would be twenty or thirty people in one room." Xing Ye said hastily, looking at his aunt's expression.
"Yes, our dormitory is also six people, and it's so crowded that there's no place to put clothes." Jialuo said.
"Then I'll stay, thank you for your trouble, Director Li." said Liang Huiru.
"No big deal, it's only right, Principal Liang. You see, at noon..." Li Changhe put down the heart he had been holding up since Liang Huiru didn't pick a quarrel.
"So, tonight you can take Luo home and have dinner with him to get familiar with the environment. I still need to talk to your principal at noon, so I won't be able to have lunch with you guys." Liang Huiru said.
Xīn yè nodded in agreement, and Jiā Luò helped move Xīn yè's luggage from Liáng Huì Rú's car to upstairs. Liáng Huì Rú and Lǐ Director left first.
At night, move the things on the empty lower bunk to the upper bunk and spread out the bedding and sheets brought from home.
"Who messed with my stuff?"
A proud female voice came from behind, and Xing Ye slightly furrowed his brow.
