Somewhere inside of an Unknown Tier 5 Dungeon

  Noah Kowalski finds himself wanting more than anything to grin as he devours the Tier 5 monster in his hands. The last one that he needs to finally meet the requirements necessary to Ascend.

  For all his years, he’s always hated those arrogant Ascendants. Throughout all the time he spent alive before the Reset.

  And it’s not just him. Every single werewolf has always felt suppressed by the Ascendants.

  Werewolves are a special species. They’re able to pick and choose who they actually turn into werewolves through their bites, and the strength of a werewolf varies depending on how pure their blood is.

  How close to the fenrir that first created them they are in blood.

  But no matter how close they are to the fenrir, they’re still nothing more than inferior models in the eyes of the other Class S species. Creatures that are forever stuck at Class A no matter how hard they try.

  And they’re right.

  There is no way for a werewolf to break past the species Class boundary. Not without devouring a fenrir directly and merging its blood into their own body.

  But the problem is that there are no more fenrirs.

  All of the fenrir species was wiped out one day by the dragons

  Because a single fenrir took it upon himself to risk devouring a dragon hatchling for advancement.

  Leaving no possible way for any werewolves to evolve further. Completely cutting off their advancement.

  So the Reset was a blessing for the werewolves. A chance to finally make it out ahead.

  And that blessing is finally paying off as Noah finishes devouring the one millionth Tier 5 being necessary for his requirements to advance. Following which he gets the regular system message about the requirements being cleared, along with the message asking him if he would like to Ascend now or later.

  Without hesitation, he looks around the empty dungeon hidden zone around him – a place not even the boss of this dungeon would go to – before nodding and accepting. Officially beginning his ascension.

  And the moment he accepts it, a powerful wave of ice, darkness, and pure physical force shoot out of him. Destroying everything near the werewolf.

  But Noah himself is too focused on screaming from the pain of ascending.

  Because it hurts far more than anything he has ever experienced in his life.

  It hurts so bad that he completely blacks out within a few seconds of starting his ascension.

  But his body continues ascending as parts of his body turn into ice, darkness, and pure telekinetic force before returning to normal. All as a bright pillar of pale blue light shoots up from his body into the ceiling of the hidden space.

  Then Noah’s body begins to transform as it grows larger and more ferocious than his werewolf form already is.

  His claws grow longer, his form taller, his muscles thicker, and his fangs sharper. All while the energy emit from his body grows denser.

  Eventually, the transformation draws to a close. With the pillar vanishing. And Noah waking up.

  But the first thing he sees aren’t the changes to his actual body.

  It’s the sight of several system messages in his vision, including one Legendary Feat that has him grinning a sharp grin.

  Noah can’t stop the grin from spreading across his face. Meanwhile all the werewolves across the entire Dimensional Grid begin to howl out their celebration.

  At the success of a werewolf becoming the first Ascendant.

  Hmm. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but I wasn’t quite expecting a werewolf to be the first to reach Ascendant Tier.

  Not that this development is bad or anything.

  Actually, it’s good that it’s a werewolf.

  Werewolves are only Class A species, and I don’t have any grudges with any werewolves. And more importantly than that, werewolves all have major grudges against the dragons. Because the fenrirs that created the werewolves were made extinct by said dragons.

  Which means I probably won’t ever be fighting against the First Ascendant.

  And that’s a good thing. Because the First Ascendant is always fucking broken in terms of power.

  All thanks to that annoying Legendary Feat bonus they get.

  The First Ascendant is known to get one extra stat point per stat every single level.

  Although this would be a much bigger problem if the First Ascendant was a Class S species. But they never are.

  Since the First Ascendant this time is a Class A species, they’ll be getting more stat points per level than a Class S species. But not by an incredibly large amount.

  So, at the end of the day, they are a threat but not an incredible one. And they’re only a big threat until I reach Ascendant Tier myself.

  My only worry is that others will begin reaching Ascendant Tier now that the first person has.

  It’s only a matter of time after all.

  And that’s honestly a little terrifying. The only saving grace I have right now is the fact that I’m leveling up a teleportation skill.

  Meaning I’m always on the move, making it harder for these up-and-coming Ascendants to catch me.

  I just hope none of the next Ascendants to reach the Tier have any grudges against me.

  Because if they do, then that’ll be a major problem.

  I take a deep breath at that thought before giving my all into teleporting all over the place with Quantum Displacement. Using the skill as much as I possibly can all in the hopes it levels faster.

  I even look around to see if there’s any sort of item that increases skill leveling speed. Only to not find anything of the sort.

  But that doesn’t make me worry as I didn’t really expect anything anyway.

  Please let me reach Ascendant Tier in the skill before things become problematic…
