“You mean because your eyes are practically glued to that one particular class?” Ar’kzul laughed and tapped his finger on his table. “You know there is the possibility to make it even stronger, the opposite can also be true, the question is if you want to try it or go with the safe option.”
Ethan instantly shook his head. “No, I don’t have any skills I want to sacrifice and the other classes, while interesting, especially the Scholar one, aren't that useful to me. I can already use magic on my own, I don’t need a bunch of weak or immobile soldiers. The vanguard while interesting sounds also kind of limited, especially with the increased mana cost for special variants which I guess means equipment or size. It sounds like the class gets more standardized.”
He took a deep breath and without much hesitation chose the [Frostforger of the Blood Reaper Legion] as his new class. Just the simple fact that the use of his own creations could change a class this way made it feel more personal and deeply connected to him. Ethan just closed his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the class settling in before checking his notifications for updates.

His skills saw changes due to his new subclass which leaned even more into the theme of making the enemies bleed and strengthening through that. Ethan had to admit he was very excited to test all these new things out and see how it works. Especially his new soldiers and the new frozen heart’s rot he acquired. It all sounded impressive and strong with most of his skills now having risen to expert or even higher. For the first time in a very long time he looked at his entire status.

It was impressive in his eyes but of course there was so much room to grow for him. He looked at Ar’kzul and smiled. “Thank you for your help with this, I might have picked something worse without your guidance.” He gave the god a small bow of his head and looked at him, incredibly happy.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
The old man just waved him off. “My pleasure, with this the tutorial is officially ended for you, that means we won’t meet each other again until you manage to enter the deepest and oldest parts of the multiverse and even then, I’m notoriously hard to find.” He grinned and gave Ethan a simple nod. “A word of warning though, be careful about your enemy Jacques Allard, the Bloodfire Hellborn were eradicated for a reason, so bew-...it seems that’s all I can say sorry about that. I wish you luck and hope we meet again.” A warm smile was the last thing Ethan saw before the god and the library vanished all around him.
When Ethan finally saw something change he thought for a moment the system had thrown him into a white void next after lifting the black one, but when he looked around and then up he could see where he was or to be more accurate, in who he was. Because towering above him was the cloud titan which was so close that he couldn’t see anything else in front of him besides its body. While the titan had no eyes or even a head Ethan still felt like he was watched by this massive monster.
There was no hesitation as he jumped from the branch he sat on, he gave the titan one last look and booked it as fast as possible. After jumping from the branch he summoned an ice cloud and flew away as fast as possible. Behind him the air started to vibrate and the titan started to turn from pure white to a dark gray which almost bordered on black. A low hum sounded out from it again, as it finally realized that Ethan was a living thing.
Ethan’s best guess was that the magic that kept him safe had attracted the titan and now it was able to interact with Ethan again now that he was back from picking his classes. The wizard cursed Ar’kzul for not warning him about the titan but he could be angry later if he was still alive then.
At first he flew over the trees but soon abandoned that idea in favor of racing along the edge of the forest, racing next to it to get as far away from the cloud titan as possible, but far away was a dream as the massive rotating cloud in the sky was as much part of the titan as the body that was silently walking after Ethan.
He thought about what to do as wherever he might go the titan would already be there, so he needed some form of diversion. Something that would allow him to escape but what would be able to catch the attention of something like this titan? Ethan of course tried summoning his soldiers, while costing more mana now he had received a substantial upgrade to his mana pool and soon a group of twenty five blood reaper ice soldiers stood on the open field. He could admire them for just a mere second before he had to focus on escaping.
The forest had a small bend coming up and Ethan adjusted his flight, one hand firmly holding onto his hat as he leaned into the curve, his speed with the ice cloud was a lot higher and he tried to make himself as aerodynamic as possible, leaning slightly forward while tugging in his arms and holding his legs together. The cloud under him was also morphing until it looked more like a slim oval. The wind was howling in his ears as he pushed a substantial amount of mana into the cloud which shuddered under him for a moment before his speed increased once again.
While he wanted to look behind him to see if his soldiers could distract the titan he couldn’t even turn his head before he felt the connection to them disappear a few moments later, all of them at the same time. He looked up but there was still the swirling cloud, never ending as he raced at speeds comparable to a fast car along the treeline. His increase in perception was the only thing that kept him from crashing into something along that way.
For a moment it felt like the titan might lose interest but then he heard that low hum again. He should have known as he had watched the monster protect its territory from everything that stepped into it. Before he could think about a new escape plan he smelled something weird, after a few seconds his eyes opened wide when he recognized the specific odor. Boosting himself again he hoped he was quick enough as a few meters behind him lightning struck the ground violently. He summoned a shield behind him, hoping to keep the lighting away from his body. “You gotta be kidding me, now lightning?” He thought it could only use those streams of clouds but he was clearly mistaken there.
There was still the matter of getting out of there…somehow and with not many options available to him against such a strong creature there was basically only one way when suicide wasn’t an option you wanted to consider. Ethan slowed down until he came to a stop, the moment the cloud disappeared from under him he slammed the staff into the soft ground. A massive explosion of ice erupted from his staff, bigger than anything he managed in the past as the ground was frozen solid, the trees cracked from the flash freeze, bursting apart as the water inside of them expanded. A massive cloud of frozen particles filled the area and showed no signs of dissipating even after a minute it stayed close together.
When the Titan reached the frost cloud it struck the spot with lighting, pushing away all the ice and breaking the frozen ground into large chunks but the small creature it had followed was nowhere to be seen. Slowly it’s body returned to the pure white and it followed the direction of the wind.
Deeper inside the forest the ground was disturbed as a white shovel broke through the dirt and a relatively normally looking person made from ice crawled out of it. Followed by Ethan, his black clothes stained brown as he tried to brush it off, his eyes looked to the titan. “Just wait, we will meet again…I promise.”
*Update* Quest issued: [The Titan] Slay the Cloud Titan
Difficulty: Extreme
Possible Reward: Experience, Free Points, Skill Upgrade Tokens
“Well, well…that makes it more interesting. Until next time then.” Ethan grinned, strutting away from the open plains deeper into the forest, he had after all some requests to fulfill.
