Echoes from the Other World

The soft sound of Hyun's footsteps echoed through the quiet street. His short white hair swayed lightly in the wind as he walked with his hands in his pockets. He wore traditional black Korean clothing, reflecting his introspective and aloof nature. The lost look in his eyes, as if something was missing, was evident. The street in front of him was familiar, but today it felt different. The air was heavy, as if something was about to happen, though Hyun couldn't quite put his finger on it.

His mind was far away, in a place he couldn't reach. He didn't know why, but he felt a strange pressure in his chest, as if something was watching him. Deep down, he didn't want to think about it, but he couldn't ignore the feeling.

Tsk. "Damn, I must have just slept badly," he thought, closing his eyes tighter, trying to ignore the thoughts that were coming to him.

Hunger started to bother him, and he shifted in his chair, uncomfortably. "Man, I should have eaten that ramen, I'm starving." His stomach growled loudly. "Grrrroooon"—a sound that made him cringe a little, embarrassed.

. "I hope no one heard that shit..." He thought, trying to focus again, but the hunger and the strange feeling still bothered him.

The teacher was talking about something he couldn't even remember, and the room was silent except for the sound of pens scribbling on paper and the occasional click of someone moving their chair. Hyun's head began to feel heavy, and his eyes closed involuntarily. He was still trying to stay awake, but the tiredness got the better of him. "I think I'll just close my eyes for a minute..."

In a few seconds, he was already in a deep sleep, his head fallen on the table. The buzz of the classroom disappeared as he sank into a forced rest.

When he opened his eyes, Hyun found himself in a strange place. He was in an empty hall, only a dense darkness that surrounded him. In the center of the room, a dark and powerful entity sat on an imposing throne, its presence dominating the entire space. The creature had long, flowing white hair, and four imposing horns protruded from its head. The aura that emanated from it was terrifying and tremendous, as if it were capable of destroying everything around it.

The entity's eyes shone with an intense, piercing light, watching Hyun with a gaze that seemed to pierce his soul. It was there, like a primordial force, waiting for something, but what could it be?

Hyun tried to move, but his body was immobilized, as if trapped by an invisible force. He tried to speak, but the words would not come out of his mouth. The feeling of fear enveloped him completely, as if he were about to be consumed by something uncontrollable and infinitely powerful.

The entity on the throne remained silent, but its presence was overwhelming. Hyun felt his heart beat faster, and the pressure around him increased. Something was about to happen, but he had no idea what it was or how he could escape that overwhelming feeling.

"Who... are you?" Hyun finally managed to speak, his voice echoing in the emptiness of the room.

The entity did not respond. Slowly, it rose from its throne, the pressure around Hyun increasing with each step the figure took. The sound of its footsteps was muffled by the darkness, but the sensation of its movement made Hyun's heart race. Each step felt like an immense weight pulling him down. Hyun felt an overwhelming pressure on his chest, as if he were being crushed by a force beyond his comprehension. He closed his eyes, fearing that this entity would be the last thing he would see. The fear of death paralyzed him. And then, an ominous whisper echoed in his mind, distorting the air around him: "You carry the blood of darkness..." Before he could process what was happening, the entity disappeared, and the darkness began to dissipate. Hyun woke up with a start, panting and sweating, his eyes adjusting to the light of the classroom. His heart was pounding, and the feeling of being watched still haunted him.

In the classroom, his colleagues continued their activities, and Hyun realized that he was still there, back in reality. What he had just experienced seemed like a nightmare, but the feeling of pressure and the words of the entity would not leave his head.

As Hyun tried to catch his breath and compose himself, a familiar voice called out to him. It was the voice of Jiwoo, his classmate. She entered the room, looking at him with a curious and amused expression.

"Hyun, class is over, aren't you going to sleep anymore?" Jiwoo said, laughing lightly as she approached.

Hyun was still dazed, trying to process the experience he had just lived, but his gaze fixed on her for a moment. Jiwoo, with her dark hair and always relaxed attitude, had no idea what had just gone through his mind.

He looked at her, trying to force a smile, but his mind was still stuck in the nightmare.

"Ah... no, I was just... dreaming." Hyun answered absently.

Jiwoo, not realizing what was really happening, shrugged and gave him one last look before leaving the room.

"Okay, stay there and sleep then. See you later!" she said, unaware of how shaken Hyun was by everything he had just experienced.

Once she left, Hyun sat in silence for a few seconds, then slowly got up. Without saying a word, he grabbed his things and walked out of the classroom. He didn't talk to anyone, didn't look back — his thoughts were spinning.

Later that evening, Hyun arrived home and went straight to his room, tossing his bag to the floor and lying on the bed.

He stared at the ceiling, the image of the horned figure still haunting his mind.

"I'm going crazy..." he muttered to himself, covering his eyes with his arm.

Not long after, he drifted into sleep again, hoping the darkness wouldn't follow him this time.
