I was on discord looking for a game to RP on with some strangers (SCP RP games are pretty common nowadays, I've played a few in the past)
I signed up for access to the game, and it wasn't hard in the slightest
Next thing I know, I'm sitting at a desk with someone going over my application
They're muttering stuff when I turn to them and ask a question (I forget which) and they respond along the lines of, "Well, you did sign up for this."
They did some kind of mind zap thing with an overhead projector (it looked like one, but it wasn't one), and then he was surprised
"Looks like you know quite a bit about this kind of stuff. I'll just briefly cover some interesting points and then you can be on your way."
They went over basic rules and handed me a guide on how to reduce waste of resources
I was then told to wait in the hallway while they finished up the registration. He told me not to go into any rooms nearby
As I'm standing in the hallway, I see a room with what appears to be a person strapped down to it
As I peer in through the doorway, the door automatically opens, and I stumble back a bit
I can now clearly see a person strapped down with a leg missing and multiple lacerations up and down their body
The person is listless and doesn't appear to be cohesive
As I'm standing there, taking it in
I hear a group of people coming my way, so I step back, and the door shuts
2 men following a woman (who appears to be their superior or something, the way they acted was a bit weird) approach the door, glancing at me before stopping at the room I was just peering into
The men are conversing quietly as they follow her
As the woman is preparing to open the door, she realizes that the door was recently opened
She turns to me in confusion and asks, "Who opened this door just now?"
I stumbled on my words and said that the door had automatically opened it when I had gotten close enough
The 2 men stop talking to each other and look at me with surprise in their eyes
The woman asks me, "You're sure it opened by itself? I can check security cameras to make sure."
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
I just nod quickly and shrug in confusion
The woman stares at me for a few more seconds before muttering something and entering the room, the 2 men follow in behind her
I don't know how long I waited, but it felt like quite a bit, while also feeling like no time at all.
The man from before comes out and hands me an ID, and then I am promptly escorted out of the building. I am told that the entertainment and relaxation area is on the left (when leaving the current building), and there was no way I'd miss it
As I make it to the entertainment area, I am greeted by a very large area with some doors on one side of the room, with a large hallway leading elsewhere
The doors all led to different sports areas. I saw people playing wall tennis, but they were playing with different colored balls; they had to do their best not to trip over each other while also hitting their balls every time, at the same time, at different locations.
It was captivating to watch, but very weird too. There were 6 or more people all hitting different colored balls, their rackets were the same color as their ball, and they had to aim the ball wherever a light lit up on the wall with their color
They were dashing, rolling, and somersaulting around to not get in each other's way, while also rushing to make it to where their ball was moving, so they could aim and hit it at the color on the wall, which had moved since the last time it was hit
As I left that place, I came across a library-like place. It had a bunch of books I was almost familiar with. They seemed to be twisted with slightly different names, cover art, plot, or authors
I found a book trilogy about whales and their struggles to fit in with the human race once humans had begun building underwater cities everywhere.
As I was looking for the second book, someone came over and began talking to me about some of the books there, we spent upwards of an hour discussing books, and when I noticed that I hadn't actually gotten the rest of the series I was looking for
As I obtained books 2 and 3 of the series, I noticed that their spines were so worn down and the books looked like they hadn't been cared for in the slightest
The girl I was talking to said, "Well, that's what happens when nothing here gets updated after 400 years."
I was a bit taken aback and asked, "400 years?"
"Well, it's been more like 380, but might as well round up," she replied and then continued on to say, "Why're you surprised? Your clearance level shows you should know about stuff like this already."
I then explained that it was my first day and that I had only been here for less than 12 hours
She was flabbergasted, telling me that she had never seen someone at my clearance level so quickly before, and kept going on about it
While she was still talking about it, 30 minutes later, my stomach started rumbling
She then asked me if I wanted her to show me to the restaurants here, when I replied that I didn't have money on me
She was puzzled by my reaction when she led me to another corner of the library
"This is a shelf of antique food that we're allowed to eat once a month. This food can only get restocked once a month because of the different rules regarding alternate universe/dimension thievery (I don't even know, it was like my brain kept spouting jargon to make it sound smart, I'll just leave it at this very simple version)
The first thing I opened up was an alternate universe where McDonald's had a McDog
They looked awful, it was similar to a cheap pig in a blanket, the "blanket" (bread) that surrounded the hot dog was even the kind with all of the seeds and grains
I was hungry, so I began to take a bite, only for the girl beside me to freak out and reach for me
But I had already taken a bite and swallowed
She was flabbergasted and then began to become uneasy while slowly talking to me
I don't remember much after that
I got very nauseous and even woke up feeling nauseous, and had to take a few seconds to feel normal
