Bitter Yuzu, Sweet Memories: When the Sweetness Fades and Only the Pain Remains readread

author : Natsumikan

The world is doomed. A rogue planet is on a one-year crash course with Earth, and there’s absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. Governments? Useless. Scientists? Panicking. Society? Completely off the rails. People are either rioting, joining weird doomsday cults, or doing things they really should’ve done before the end of the world was officially scheduled. Meanwhile, Yuzu Hoshino, a 22-year-old accounting major, is just trying to finish her semester. She remains painfully, stubbornly normal. She’s got no dramatic love story, no bucket list of regrets, and no sudden urge to do anything outrageous. If the world is ending, then fine. As the world spirals into madness, Yuzu encounters doomsday cultists, desperate romantics, and scientists with a "maybe, possibly, kinda" plan to stop the apocalypse (spoiler: they won’t). While others chase meaning, she wonders if she should finally splurge on an expensive meal. If the world insists on ending, she might as well be difficult about it, yuzu tart in one hand, drink in the other. ============================================ What to expect: ✔ Unplanned storytelling – There is no structure. No direction. Just words thrown together in the hope that they resemble a story. ✔ Little to no character development – If you’re looking for emotional growth, this is not the story for you. ✔ Terrible pacing – Sometimes things happen too fast. Other times, nothing happens for an absurdly long time. Either way, it’s a mess. ✔ Nothing interesting happens – If you think this story will eventually pick up, it won’t. Keep waiting. It won’t get better. ✔ Pointless, repetitive dialogue – Characters will talk. A lot. But they won’t say anything that matters. Entire conversations will go in circles with zero impact. ✔ Mediocre writing – Expect awkward phrasing, unnecessary details, and descriptions of things that don’t need to be described. ✔ No emotional payoff – If you’re hoping for a big moment where everything comes together, there isn’t one. ✔ Nonexistent story progression – Is there a climax? A resolution? Who knows? Certainly not the author. ✔ Questionable writing quality – Some sentences are great. Others? Not so much. ✔ Repeated conversations that go nowhere – Characters will discuss the end of the world multiple times, but nothing will ever be resolved. ✔ An ending that isn’t satisfying – Does the world actually end? Does Yuzu finally do something? Who knows? The conclusion will be as underwhelming as the rest of the story. ✔ No world-building whatsoever – Why is the world ending? Who cares? Don’t expect any details. Just accept it and move on. ============================================
