21. Security Protocols

Announcementcontent warning: brief mention of hypnosis & pet pyWhen we woke Sunday morning none of us were in any great hurry to get out of bed.

All three of us were cuddled up together, arms around each other and legs all intertwined. We exchanged some quiet kisses, and maybe the occasional tender caress or cheeky pinch. Nobody seemed ready to dive back in for more sex though, instead it was enough to just enjoy each other's company.

Except as I thought back to the night before, I couldn't help wondering about something. Or maybe worrying was a better term. So I finally broke the silence as I asked my best friend, "I hope I didn't go too far with you st night Gwen? I mean with the hypnosis and everything?"

She smiled and pnted a kiss on my lips before replying, "Are you kidding Lisa? That was amazing! Making me lose control, taking charge of my body like that... It was like a dream come true."

"Honestly," she added as she pressed herself a little closer against my side, "I'm getting wet again just thinking about it. Mistress."

I felt better after hearing that. I returned the kiss then smiled, "Good. I'll keep that in mind then, and perhaps if you're a good girl we can have more of that fun ter."

Gwen responded with a little shudder of anticipation. Then I turned my attention to my other partner, who was quietly purring as she cuddled against my left side.

"What about you Chels?" I asked. "I hope I didn't cross any lines with the whole 'pet kitty' thing?"

She quietly scoffed, "Pfft seriously? I'm the one who pushed you into it, Lisa. So don't worry about it, ok? I'll be your horny little kitten any time you want."

"Thanks Chelsea," I replied with another smile. "Maybe we can do more of that ter today?"

Then I sighed, "For now though, I'm thinking I should probably get up and start the day. There's still a lot more I need to learn about that ptop, and considering how much we've been using it I don't want to put it off too much longer."

Both Gwen and Chels pouted at the idea of getting up. Then my best friend groaned, "Oh crap I'm going to have to deal with my folks today aren't I? I turned my phone off st night... I wonder how many angry messages they sent after they got my text?"

"Whatever happens you're always welcome here," I reminded her. I punctuated that with another kiss then added, "You don't even have to go home if you don't want. You can just stay here with Chelsea and I."

The sexy elf girl made a face, "I'd still want to get all my stuff from my parents' pce. Assuming they haven't already started trashing everything."

"Crap," I frowned. "Do you think they'd actually do that? Like would that be their first reaction?"

Gwen sighed, "I don't know? You said all my stuff at home would have changed when you did the inventory update thing, right? So if they saw it, they'd think it was all new. It'd all be girl things... So yeah. It's possible they'd trash it, just to keep it out of my hands."

Chelsea's ears folded back and she scowled, "We won't let them get away with that. Right Lisa? Whatever happens, you can fix it with that ptop."

"Maybe," I grimaced as I finally sat up. "That's another reason not to waste any more time though. I really need to finish learning everything there is to know about it."

My two partners followed my lead, and all three of us finally got out of bed. Chels headed for the door as she offered, "I'll get some breakfast ready. Are you two ok with the st of the leftover pizza?"

"It's either that or the left-over Chinese," she added. "Otherwise we have to get groceries."

I replied, "Pizza's fine. Thanks Chels."

She nodded then continued on her way upstairs, while Gwen followed me into my bathroom. Like the previous morning she and I took turns getting cleaned up in my ensuite while Chelsea used the upstairs washroom. And the three of us met in the kitchen after we were presentable. Gwen was back in her original outfit from Friday, with the tights and skirt and the 'Maid to Order' t-shirt, but Chels and I were still way more casual. I just wore leggings and a tight tee, she was in shorts and a crop-top. And we were both barefoot, while Gwen had her heels on.

My friend also had her phone with her, and she sat down at the table with that and a gss of soda while Chelsea had the st of the pizza heating up in the oven.

"Fuck," Gwen sighed at her phone. "Like I figured. There's over a dozen messages here, and they left me some voice-mails too."

The worry was obvious in my voice as I asked, "How bad is it? Or how mad do you figure they are?"

She shook her head as she scrolled through the texts, "They started with misgendering and deadnaming me, and just got worse from there."

"Shit. They went in my room st night," she frowned. "Sounds like they were looking for my 'stash of hormones' or something. And my stuff must have been all different like you said, because they started accusing me of 'throwing out' all my guy clothes and everything? So yeah... There's a good chance they're going to trash my stuff."

Her expression got harder as she swore, "Fuck! I haven't even seen all my new clothes yet, now it's probably too te."

She finally got to the end of the messages then sighed once more, "They want me home ASAP so we can 'discuss things'. Except I doubt there's going to be much 'discussion', considering the way my dad phrased it? Get your ass back here by noon 'mister', or don't bother coming back at all."

"What are you going to do?" Chelsea asked nervously, with her ears drooping and her tail flicking back and forth.

Gwen shook her head, "I don't know yet. If I go home looking like this they won't recognize me, they won't believe it's really me."

"Even if I could somehow convince them I don't think it'll help," she added with an anxious frown. "They'd just use it as an excuse to kick me out. Or worse..."

I stated confidently, "Then you're not going home. As for your belongings, we'll figure out another way to get them here. Or we'll just repce them. I'm positive there's a way to do that with the ptop, and figuring it out will be my top priority as soon as we've finished breakfast."

That seemed to put the little catgirl's mind at ease. She smiled as she served up the pizza slices, "Good idea Lisa."

Unfortunately Gwyneth didn't seem so sure. Instead of helping herself to a slice the elf girl pointed out, "My folks know I've been here with you all weekend. What if they come looking for me? My dad can be a pretty imposing guy, and none of us are strong enough to stop him if he starts getting violent."

I was going to say something about just not letting him in the house, but Gwen was already thinking further ahead.

"Even if we keep the doors locked here today we've still got csses tomorrow," she reminded me. "My parents know my schedule. They could try something when we're on our way to css. Or after css, on the way back here again."

I sighed as I finally grabbed some pizza for myself. "Those are all good points Gwen. So that's my other top priority this morning, I have to figure out some kind of personal protection. I have to believe that ptop must have some options for that? Like dev-mode or god-mode in games? There must be a way to implement something along those lines."

She thought it over for a moment then slowly nodded, "That would be pretty good actually."

"So what should I do about my folks in the meantime?" she added as she finally helped herself to a slice. "Should I text them back? Let them know I'm not coming home?"

I shrugged as I chewed on a bite of breakfast, "That's up to you? I guess you should probably say something, but maybe wait until after I've figured out how to keep all three of us safe."

  "Alright Lisa," she nodded slowly.

The three of us were quiet for the next few minutes, as we all sat there munching on our breakfast. Instead of coffee we had co with the pizza, which was fine.

"So you'll be working on your computer again all morning," Chelsea commented when she'd had enough to eat. "I suppose I should do some more studying. Or Gwen, would you like to hang out with me? Maybe I can help keep your mind off your folks, at least until Lisa's finished doing her thing?"

The ravenette elf hesitated, "I should probably wash Lisa's bedding again..."

"I'm sure it's fine," Chels responded. Then she fshed us both a naughty grin and added, "It's probably just going to get messy again tonight anyways, right?"

Gwen and I both blushed, but neither of us tried to argue the point. Actually I decided to stay out of that whole discussion. If Gwyneth wanted to do her maid stuff again today I wouldn't try and stop her, but I wasn't going to suggest it either. Same with Chelsea, whether she wanted to study or hang out with my friend or just lounge around looking cute, I wasn't going to get involved. My only focus for the morning was ensuring the three of us would stay safe, and trying to rescue Gwen's stuff from her parents' house.

With that in mind I excused myself as soon as I was finished eating, then headed back downstairs to my room. Instead of sitting down at my desk I took the little pink ptop over to my bed, where I got myself comfortable as I prepared to dive back into the documentation. I figured "The SysAdmin Handbook" might have something to say about personal protection or security. And I was confident "Ins & Outs of Editing Inventory" would teach me everything I needed to know about that program.

Unfortunately as soon as I opened the first document I discovered it was a lot bigger than I'd anticipated. In fact it wasn't so much a 'handbook' as a 'comprehensive encyclopaedia', at least in terms of size. The table of contents alone filled an entire chapter, and the whole document was well over a thousand pages long.

Luckily between the contents and the index it was at least well organized, and it didn't take long to narrow down my search to three chapters that spanned pages five hundred and seventy-eight through seven hundred and forty-two.

I didn't even have to read every word of those hundred and sixty-four pages either. I mostly just skimmed the first two chapters, since it turned out neither of them covered what I needed to know. While all three were about 'security protocols', chapter nine was primarily about maintaining the integrity of a given realm while working on it. And chapter ten mostly discussed the importance of and methods for maintaining secrecy and not allowing the inhabitants to learn about things they weren't meant to know.

Chapter eleven was the winner, where I finally found what I was looking for. That one was all about how SysAdmins could protect themselves on the job. Except it turned out a lot of that information didn't really apply, since it talked about taking advantage of mechanisms that already existed within the realm. Like if magic was common, it suggested utilizing the inventory system to equip that realm's top-tier magical defences.

It wasn't until I got to the st half dozen pages where I finally found out what tools were avaible for Admins working in realms where there weren't any inherent magical or high-tech options to be exploited. Or where the avaible options simply weren't enough. The only catch was the solutions it discussed only applied to SysAdmins.

There was a loophole I could use to keep Gwen and Chelsea safe too, but I'd need to discuss it with them first. Anyways I couldn't do it right away, I still needed a better understanding of the inventory system first. So I closed the huge SysAdmin Handbook file and moved on to the inventory documentation instead.

Fortunately that wasn't any longer or more complicated than the character editor manual I read yesterday. It still took some time to get through the whole thing, but unlike the Handbook it was pretty much all practical useful information. And after another hour or so of studying, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on how that program worked.

More importantly, I found out how to transfer my best friend's stuff out of her parents' house without any of us having to go over there. I even learned a couple interesting tricks, like how to instantly mend or repair a damaged inventory item. Which, if you applied it just right, also covered things like 'fixing' dirty undry or dishes to make them clean. Although I considered keeping some of that to myself for now, since Gwen seemed to enjoy her maid work and I didn't want to deprive her.

I was eager to get started, on both the security solutions and relocating Gwen's inventory. Although I needed to talk to my friend before moving her stuff, since we hadn't discussed whether she'd be moving into the guest room upstairs or if she wanted to do something else.

For that matter I also needed to discuss the security stuff with both Gwyneth and Chelsea, so either way that was my next stop. Except I'd only just exited the doc reader when I was distracted by someone ringing our doorbell.

My first thought was that Gwen's folks had come looking for her, but I hoped that wasn't the case. That hope died a moment ter, when whoever was out there started banging impatiently at our front door.
