Finally being able to work on my third floor made me feel great. I neglected it for too long, far too long. The first thing I did was modify the water oak, adding their pods of nutrient rich water to the loot table. They would be passive drops, as I didn’t want people chopping them down just for the pods.
Next I swept my attention over the entire floor and was surprised to see Leburt, floating motionless over a patch of grass. His form excluded tranquility, peace and knowledge. His eyes opened, as if sensing my probing.
“Ah, creator. It has been a while, has it not? I take it you’ve concluded your business in the higher realms?”
‘Yes, yes I have.’
Talking to Leburt felt like talking to a sage, I’ve never talked to one before, to my knowledge but I couldn’t help but think that. I swept my attention over him once more, taking in all the changes.
His black fur was now white, almost to an unnatural degree. It stood still like him, unmoving despite the constant flow of wind. His partially humped back was gone and he grew a lot, like a lot. Before he was half the size of a human now he was the size of one, maybe a little bit taller.
His eyes were entirely blue and sagely, excluding the same concepts I sensed earlier with a touch of something more. His hands were very human-like, the only difference was that some of it was the fur that ran along the back of his hands.
His ears also became wider and took on a more circular shape. His facial features were more defined and mature, it was as if he jumped 25 years into the future and swapped with his more powerful and mature self.
Peering into his soul revealed a vastly different soul than the one I left. It was stuffed full of soul essence that permeated his entire body, clouds of golden essence connected everything. In the center of it all was a roaring solid, golden soul that constantly pumped out thick clouds of soul essence.
Holy cow! This guy was something else! I don’t even know what I’m looking at. His soul was active, very active. That much was evident, but how? All souls produced soul essence, even if the amount was so little that it didn’t help at all.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Leburt’s soul was producing massive amounts, so much that his soul alone was giving me an entire floor’s worth of soul essence. Which was a wild thing to consider, where was it even coming from? I had so many questions.
“Creator?”
Oh, whoops! I got lost in my thoughts there.
‘Apologies, Leburt, I was tending to some interesting thoughts, do you need something?’
“ If it’s not too much to ask, may I have some…coverings? I feel a tad exposed to the elements. I would also like somewhere to study and grow my knowledge.”
Interesting, even though he didn’t have genitals or a weak body he still managed to feel exposed? Was this just a byproduct of extreme intelligence?
Either way, I obliged. I wanted to make him as comfortable and happy as possible, his potential was terrifying. He managed to do so much with so little, even mastering things I didn’t touch upon yet.
What kind of clothes would he like? Hmmm, he seemed like the scholar type, and I did have that robe I absorbed from that mage, the tome too. I could slap a few enchantments on them and give them to him.
‘Give me a moment.’
I pulled up the robe pattern in my mind and scrutinized it. It was a simple green robe with now useless runes woven into its back and sides. It was weird that the runes on this didn’t stay while the ones on the battle axe and shield did, something to look into later for sure.
Anyway, I sent my soul essence into it and wove in the first enchantment, I sent thoughts of size, movement and readjustment along with the associated images and concepts and felt the threads of the enchantment dig into the material, entangling with it on a conceptual level.
The enchantment was simple; it would adjust to anyone who wore it. I didn’t think Leburt would struggle with environmental factors, such as heat and weather. He survived down here for days while I was gone, and I didn’t sense any discomfort or anything related to that when he experienced the various artificial seasons and weather I wove into this floor.
It was quite the opposite, he welcomed them. He studied everything around him with child-like curiosity. That was a trait I particularly liked, when I’m done he’s going to be the best scientist this fantasy world has ever seen!
Either way, I wove in an enchantment that would insulate his body from truly harsh weather conditions. It would insulate every part of his body, even if the robe itself didn’t touch that part. Then I wove in the standard boss-level durability and lightness enchantments, along with a self repair one, then a comfort one that would make the robe extremely comfy and warm.
I also wove in an enchantment that would make it extremely conductive to all types of energy, in the event that Leburt wanted to experiment with things other than soul energy. After thinking for a bit I made the enchantment togglable and connected to him via a connection rune.
My mind sped up as I began to work faster, weaving in enchantment after enchantment. When the robe was done I moved onto the tome. It wasn’t very thick but that could change, first I wove in an enchantment that made it resistant to anything I thought would damage a book. This included water, fire, etc.
After that I selected all the pages mentally and enchanted them to split each time they were full, then I wove in an enchantment that would adjust the size of the book based on the amount of pages and how many were being used.
After that I sped up my mind and began working on other things within the book, when I was done a silky deep blue robe with light blue edges and a golden infinity sign floated alongside a simple leather-bound tome with an infinity sign on the cover page.
