Chapter 16: Do You Understand Me?

Chapter 16: Do you really know me?

The sky was bright, and Liu Er just rubbed her head out of the bedroom. She was puzzled: It's strange, she usually slept lightly, but why did she sleep so soundly last night? And her head hurt, her neck wasn't comfortable either...

Raising her head, she saw Su Lingfeng already dressed and sitting in the hall reading a book. Liu'er subconsciously trembled with fear and said: "I'm sorry, miss, I didn't mean to get up late..."

Su Ling raised her eyes, and her piercing gaze fell on Liu Er's face, silent and unspoken.

Liu'er stood there nervously for a moment, but couldn't withstand Su Lingfeng's sharp gaze. Her legs went weak and she knelt down with a "thud": "Young mistress, I'll never dare oversleep again, please forgive me this time..."

"Did I say I'd punish you?"

"Ah?" Liu Er's head jerked up in surprise, looking at Su Lingfeng.

"It's almost past breakfast time, why don't you go to the big kitchen to see if there's anything to eat? What are you still kneeling here for?" After being tormented for half a night, she was very hungry!

"Yes, I'll go right away." Liu'er heard this and quickly scrambled up from the ground, running towards the outside of the door.

Apart from annual festivals and fixed family banquet days every month, people in each house of the Su Family usually had their meals in their own residences.

Liu'er quickly returned to the pear garden with her lunchbox, but the food had already cooled down a bit. After arranging the dishes, Liu'er looked down nervously and didn't dare look at Su Lingfeng.

Su Lingfeng was in no mood to argue with Liu'er about these things now, and he opened his mouth to drive the person away: "You go down."

"Yes." Seeing Su Feng didn't seem to be angry, Liu'er felt a sudden relief in her heart.

"Wait." Su Lengfeng suddenly called out to Liu'er again.

"Ah? Young mistress, is there anything else you'd like to instruct?" Liu'er's heart lifted again as soon as she heard Su Feng call her.

"I want to spend a quiet day reading today, don't disturb me unless necessary, consider it your day off, just remember to bring lunch at noon."

"Oh, all right, I understand." Upon hearing this, Liu'er's footsteps suddenly became lighter and quicker as she hastily walked out of the hall.

"Your maid is really afraid of you!" The man strolled out of Su Lingfeng's bedroom with a leisurely air.

"Didn't I tell you not to leave the room?" Su Ling said in a cold tone.

"There's no one else here now, and this hall counts as a room too. You didn't say I could only stay in the bedroom." The person said with an innocent face.

"...What a quibble! Not worth arguing with him..."

"Little girl, you're too fierce, it's not good. Be careful, or no one will dare to marry you in the future..." The man said with a light smile.

Su Leng was busy eating and had no time to pay attention to him.

"Hey, bring me some cutlery!" The man said as he sat down across from Su Lengfeng.

"It's none of your business." Su Lengfeng said, stretching out his hand and moving the dishes a bit closer to himself.

"Come on, you're being too petty, I'm a guest after all..."

"Guest?" Su Lengfeng glanced at him sideways: "What kind of guest are you?"

"Uh..." The person scratched his nose awkwardly: "Forget about eating...". As he said that, he stretched out his hand and suddenly had a piece of charred black meat from some unknown animal. He said with a somewhat pitiful tone: "I can at least eat my own food, right?"

Su Lingfeng continued eating with his head down, ignoring the person opposite him...

"Little girl, what are you doing with a dead magical beast egg in your bedroom?" The person asked while laboriously chewing on the hard and black roasted meat.

  "What's it to you?"

"Just curious, with your personality, you wouldn't be interested just for fun, would you?" The person asked with a face full of interest: "What's so special about that magical beast egg that makes you so interested?"

"Temper? You know me well?" Cut!

"Not very familiar, just getting started." The man smiled and said.

Su Leng didn't continue to explore the topic of "understanding", stuffed a mouthful of food into his mouth and chewed, saying somewhat unclearly: "Temporarily, I still don't know what's special about that egg."

"Huh?" The person's starry eyes flickered, stopped eating, and pondered for a moment before suddenly asking: "You really don't have a spiritual foundation and don't understand spiritual arts?"
