The Summmoning Error

Lucas Silva: Guys, we've played too much today. I'm going to sleep a bit, okay?

  Thiago: Sure, Lucas.

  Renan: Yeah, go ahead, Lucas.

Lucas Silva: Thanks, guys. We'll play more tomorrow.

Lucas disconnects from the call with his friends, unaware that this might be the last time.

Lucas Silva: I'm not that sleepy. I think I'll read a book or something.

Lucas Silva: This book looks interesting.

He spends some time reading the book.

Suddenly, Lucas feels an overwhelming drowsiness.

Lucas Silva: What is this? Why do I feel so incredibly sleepy all of a sudden?

Lucas Silva: This sleep is so heavy, it's like something is forcing me to fall asle—

Lucas falls asleep and, when he wakes up, finds himself in a place resembling a castle. In front of him stand a king and a princess.

Lucas (thinking): Where am I? What kind of place is this?

King: Welcome to our world, hero. You were summoned to the country of Otinuh to fight against a race of monsters threatening humanity called the Meguinus.

In front of Lucas is an older man who also looks confused.

Lucas: Hero? Monsters? Could it be that I’m...?

Princess: Father, there’s someone else behind him. Was this supposed to happen?

King: Huh? Why was a mere child summoned along with our hero?

Lucas (thinking): Wait a second, mere child? What do they mean by that?

Mage: Well, Your Majesty, we ended up using too much magic, thinking it would be necessary, and accidentally summoned another person. This other individual has no potential whatsoever and will be of no use in the battles.

Lucas (shouting): ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME?! W-What do you mean???

King: You fools! Listen, boy, don’t panic. You were brought here by mistake, and we’ll find a way to send you back as soon as possible. Understood?

Mage: Sire, I’m sorry, but the only way to send him back home would also send our hero back.

King: What?! How is that possible? So this child is stuck here? It seems there’s no other way... Amanda, tell him.

Princess Amanda: Listen, you, the one who came here by mistake. Unfortunately, there’s no way to send you back, and we can’t afford to let you return, or else our hero will go back too.

Lucas (in despair): My friends... My family... I can’t believe this! You brought me to another world by accident?!

King: Unfortunately, yes. Now, you, the real hero, what’s your name and age?

Hero: Oh, hi, my name is Kinderu Kamayo, I’m 21 years old. (Kamayo is clearly scared by everything he sees.) N-Nice to meet you. Are you saying I’m someone chosen to save everyone here?

King: Yes, you are one of the heroes summoned by the four countries to fight against the Meguinus, a species that has been attacking humanity here for years. We are on the brink of extinction, which is why we had to take this measure. You are the hero of the country of Otinuh. The countries Kyupo, Gudsin, and Golak have also summoned heroes to combat the monsters threatening humanity.

King: And you, young man, what’s your name?

Lucas: Lucas Silva, I’m 15 years old.

  Lucas speaks, nearly in tears.

King: As an apology, I’ll let you live in the cast—

Lucas: Shut up! You made me lose everything I had in my old world! Y-You ruined my life! I will, no matter how long or how hard I have to work, find a way back to my world!

Lucas runs away from the castle. The castle is enormous, but luckily, he manages to find a way out.

Princess Amanda: Hey, come back here! Kamayo, go after him!

  Kamayo: A-Alright!

  Kamayo: Hey, you there!

  Lucas: What do you want?!

Kamayo: Where do you think you’re going?

Lucas: I don’t know either, but I’ll find a place to stay and figure out a way to return home.

Kamayo: Listen, I know it’s hard to accept that you’re in a new world, but look, I’m here too, and I’m fine.

Lucas: Just shut up and try to understand my situation! You’re a hero and have powers. I was summoned here for nothing, understand?

Kamayo: Fine, you might be right, but wouldn’t it be easier for you not to run away from the castle? They’re offering you a place to stay.

  Lucas: Shut your mouth!

Lucas shoves him to the ground and takes the chance to escape into a nearby forest.

Lucas: I can’t believe this happened. Why me? Why was I summoned along? I’ve lost everything—absolutely everything!

Lucas hears a terrifying roar and slowly turns around to see an absurdly large monster.

  Lucas: No way...

  The monster starts approaching.

Lucas: S-Stay away! Please don’t kill me!

Suddenly, a figure appears and cuts the monster in half, making its body collapse to the ground.

Lucas: What? What the heck just happened?

Mysterious Person: Oh, hi! Are you okay?

  Lucas: Um... Hi.

Mysterious Person: Be more careful; you almost got killed there. I’ve never seen you around here. Who are you?

Lucas: Oh, I’m Lucas. Well, I was summoned to this world with a hero, but it turns out I was brought here by mistake.

Mysterious Person: Really? Which country summoned you?

Lucas: If I’m not mistaken, it was Otinuh or something like that.

Mysterious Person: Alright, nice to meet you. I’m Tamo Kinu, a hero from the country of Golak. I was summoned, but in your case, it was an accident, huh?

Lucas: Yeah, they said they overused magic, and this is the result.

Tamo Kinu: Alright. Why aren’t you in Otinuh’s castle then?

  Lucas: I left.

Tamo Kinu: Why did you leave?

Lucas: They said that if they sent me back, their hero would go back too. So I can’t return to my world. I left to find a way back on my own.

Tamo Kinu: Honestly, I don’t think you’ll find a way, but good luck.

Lucas: Kinu, why are you here in Otinuh?

Tamo Kinu: I decided to travel around here, but I was just heading back to Golak.

Tamo Kinu: Alright, be more careful with those monsters. If it weren’t for me, you would’ve died back there. This world is dangerous. I say that as someone who’s been here for over two years.

Lucas: Got it. Thanks for the help.

Tamo Kinu turns and runs off, waving goodbye.

Lucas: Now I have to find a way out of here. It might be difficult, but I believe I’ll manage.
