“-ng? Wolfgang? He’s coming around.” A voice pierced the fuzzy darkness in Wolfy’s mind.
“Don’t call me that.” He gagged as his vision cleared.
Wolfy was in an Agency conference room, his wrists shackled to a very nice oak table. He was no less dangerous tied up than free, but he decided not to point that out or make a fuss just yet. Some schmucks in suits stood on one side of the room-lawyers most likely-while Mateo and various name-brand heroes stood on the other side.
In front of Wolfy was a short woman in an expensive blue blouse and pencil skirt, staring him down. Wolfy could appreciate good fashion (he was a designer himself) on anyone and everyone.
Cecilia Baurer, founder and operator of The Agency. Wolfy respected Cecilia, as he was no stranger to authoritative women, but her sharp glare gave him flashbacks to Maria.
“What is that terrible taste?” He asked, licking his lips.

“The cashier at the diner you visited had a degree in chemical science. We found traces of a liquid substance in the drink you received, acting as a strong hypnotic drug. It matched a vial we found in his locker bag. You were lucky you only took a small drink.” Cecilia crossed her arms.
“That little creep roofied me? I’ll fucking murder him.” Snarled Wolfy.
Apparently these princesses weren’t used to language stronger than ‘Dang it’. The only two not clutching their pearls were Mateo and Cecilia. Mateo was biting back a slight smile, and Wolfy felt his heart speed up at the sight. Cecilia looked as if she was trying to skin Wolfy with her eyes.
“Wolfgang-”
“Wolfy.”
Her eye twitched. “-Wolfgang. The woman you encountered tonight, what did she say before she passed?”
“Why should I tell you?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Because that woman was Miana Holmes. She was the most famous oracle in the world, and she was here to consult The Agency on an ongoing issue. Only, Ms. Holmes did not show for our appointment. According to first hand witnesses, her last confirmed sighting was three days ago. Sources conclude that she was taken in broad daylight. So, Wolfgang, her last words might be the only clue we have to finding and capturing whoever would do such a heinous thing to an innocent young woman.”
