Taking a deep enough breath that her ample chest rose to its full blossoming appearance, Casey crawled over to Sylvie and nibbled on her lover’s lips. “That was unbelievably sexy.” Casey paused and fshed her fangs for Sylvie. “You are right, you know.” Casey found the means to mute her own tacts and finished her admiration. “Your little lie to Franco, is the only reason Kody still exists. If they had listeo Franco deeply, the two of them would have perished beside one another.” Casey reached out and cupped Sylvie’s cheeks. “While you are morally flexible to the living, we are granted a little more leeway because of our uure. If I learned anything from Vivie was not to feel guilty for our nature.”
“I am just tired of this particur versation with Kody, and untwisting their mind against the issues that the Dryod’s created with this portal, their ability to remove their darkness…” Sylvie fell into Casey’s arms. “The topic dies now, you and I will make sure that things are ‘normal’.” Sylvie flipped around in Casey’s arms just after her air-quoted word and pulled Casey’s arms around her. “Let’s get Kody back safe.”
A quick press of the end button on their phone, Kody lessehe burden that they had with the upis. Kody kwo things clearly, first they needed blood - and lots of it, and sed that they o deal with the massive double shadewraith cirg the parking lot of the gas station.
Giveire area itch bck thanks to the EMP wave that Kody employed earlier, Kody secretly had been relieved that no one else had attempted to ehe parking lot. Although clear of mind and a in order to fill their gnawing hunger, Kody still felt the reverence for the lives of the others that were not doomed to their fangs.
-You weren’t wrong about cherishing life, even if you weren’t right about harmony, Franco.-
Feeling his fangs slip into pce, Kody’s HUD locked on all of the people and gave a projected order of where and how the vampire could feed with minimal losses.
-I will see it like a prayer for food deliverance, and after all no farmer kills all of their stock at the same time.-
Dropping the door with a loud crash of gss, Kody got the shock value from the people within and struck before their ability fht or flight overcame them. Kody’s first two victims were barely a thought and dissolved into dust before Kody even tasted the blood that fueled the wave of attacks. Standing in a semicircle in order to try and fruitlessly use their mobile devices, Kody had charmed the five ahem swaying mindlessly as the vampire pluheir fangs unceremoniously into the flesh of ahree, turning them into ash that quietly settled on the bck tiled floor.
-Quick, painless.-
Kody assured themself and walked back to the group of five that were currently spared from their feeding. “Hand me your devices.” Kody waited until all five handed over their bd useless phones and stood quietly. “Alright, You all o sit here huddled until I return. You do not want to leave, you don’t recall anything except sitting right there.”
“Yes. I uand, beautiful angel.” All five said at about the same time. An older womaly sat doeered into Kody’s green pulsing power-button eyes. “ we see your wings? Angels have wings…” She gently asked before succumbing to Kody’s charm aled down like she was ordered to.
Kody took a quice at their HUD and saw ahat their body was full of rid thick blood just waiting to be used. Walking out of the store, Kody’s HUD instantly locked onto the rge shadewraith that had gotten bold enough to actually fly over the parking lot but not so close that the hematite could affect it.
It was only after twe semi trucks had slowed down to look over the rest stop, that Kody got worried. Taking full advantage of the driver’s curiosity, the Shadewraith dove through the front of the window and forced the man behind the wheel to ram the truto the store, just inches from the five people Kody had charmed. “Blood shell…Thank you for such a delight. Watch your little charm bee useless…” Screaming with a guttural and banshee-like wail, the Shadewraith cackled with glee as the five suddenly blinked and were overe with shobsp;
Wanting to cause as much chaos as possible and protected by the store from the hematite, the inky form fshed its eerie diamond-shaped white eyes of hate and exploded from the driver it had taken over. Masses of flesh from the driver and dark and foul bck slime with the sistency of oil spttered over the five huddled and now screaming on the floor. “Yessss…More…Scream flesh-shells. Scream until your hearts burst.”
Spinning on their heels just as the truck rammed the store, Kody didn’t have time to save any of the five and watched with a touch of sorrow as the shadewraith ed each person with the same ughter and taunting that the beasts were known for.
-Nothing survives these things.-
Relieved that the sheer volume of blood kept their inner demon at bay, Kody was able to think rationally and devise a pn simir to the ohey’d had while spraying the trees. Kody could feel their own fear rising up, given the plication that their new pn would incur.
“Ahh, a blood-shells fear. Keep standing there, scared…helpless. Feed. Me.” Shattering both flesh and gss in a show of strength, the shadewraith screamed once again with its blood-chilling and infernal wail.
Sending the signal to their body, Kody made the lower half of their body bato the cyberi they’d attempted to use earlier. Multiple warnings appeared and fshed across Kody’s tacts with everything from projected blood levels to CPU usage and damage that had been incurred prior. “Clear all warnings, give me a running level of blood.” Kody’s eyes flickered as though reading from a memory location and theed a and that they watched test itself in their tacts. “Activate fail-safe at half reserve remaining.” Kody watched as the green dots went in circles around their tacts and finally settled with a positive response. Kody dampeheir hearing so that they had a certain amount of resistao the shadewraith’s taunts and screams. “Now or never.” Kody lightly mumbled and activated their legs to draw in more of the hematite dust. Once Kody’s HUD registered that their legs had the estimated amount of dust based on the size and bulk of the shadewraith, Kody k down and sucked in all the dust they could into their lungs.
A small ter trickled down from five and when the zero fshed in their vision, Kody sprang. bining their vampire speed with their automated leg system, Kody found that they moved faster than what they’d observed The Raven perform in the short time they’d been around one another. Their form blurred beyond normal prehension, Kody did an unstoppable p ihe store and deposited hematite dust into the air. While Kody knew not to expect fear to pulse in the Shadewraith’s abhorrent eyes, Kody did he-less spot a touch of surprise as it realized that they’d been trapped in their quest for more mayhem. Activating another sensor and ter, Kody’s CPU estimated ten seds before the dust would settle and free their shadotive. With a few deft moves to avoid the inky form from invading their person, Kody followed the projected path on their defense system and ended up right behind the shadewraith before it could turn.
-Got you.-
Kody told themself and breathed the entire tents of their lungs into the Shadewraith. A wide plume of dust and ropassed the shadewraith and before it could even ugh in its owh, dropped to the floor in its murky form aed into the tile. Curious as to if they were right, Kody ripped a piece of the semi-trailer off and poked the hard body of the shadewraith. “Now we have the means.” Kody smiled aed to their vampire body pletely before popping all of the pumps and dousing the store in gasoline. It was only after their dispy indicated there was enough fuel to destroy all evidence of a fight and especially the body of the shadewraith, Kody quickly left the burning station behind.
They were five miles away and still running towards the reservatiohey called Sylvie back. “I know you saw it all, I left the video on. I will be there shortly, thank you for the help, Sylvie…” Kody sounded genuine, “...Now I owe you one again.”
“Think nothing of it Kody, You have all night to get back here where we talk about the pn of a.” Sylvie offered fidently. “I had another vision, and it is quite the story. lenty of blood on hand, so we will hat brilliant insight of yours.”
“You only call me brilliant when you want something, Sylvie.” Kody ughed and followed the wide ‘W’ form of Cassiopeia towards the old reservation. “I could use some time in the fun blood room. A bit of office space to try and fix … myself, as I was getting cyberic failures.”
“Casey and I will see you in a bit, Kody.” Sylvie softly spoke and disected the call.
