Foreword Foreword
Luo Xingye gazed out of the floor-to-ceiling window at the vast night sky, the city's night sky was always gray and hazy, but tonight it was a rare sight with a starry sky.
She pushed open the window and a gust of wind blew in, messing up her long hair.
"Mom said that when I was born, it was a starry sky like this, and the night she passed away was also a starry sky like this. Who would have thought that I, with my body covered in filth, could end my life under the same starlight."
Holding a cup of red wine in her hand with colorful nail polish, her jade-like hands and the red liquid seem to be a delicate painting.
"It's as red as blood," Luo Xingye raised his wine cup and examined it carefully, "It suits my identity as a witch perfectly." He drained the cup in one gulp, and carelessly tossed the cup to the ground. The cup didn't shatter on the thick carpet, but rolled away to one side instead.
Luoxing stared blankly at the night sky, scenes from thirty years flashing before her eyes: childhood joys, the pain of losing her parents, her boyfriend's betrayal, the complexities of her life, the shame and degradation after her downfall, hands stained with blood...
A wave of drowsiness washed over her, and she knew the medicine was starting to take effect.
"Mom, I'm coming to accompany you. You won't be disappointed in your daughter, will you? If there's a next life, let me be your daughter again. I'll definitely become a good daughter who makes you proud."
A shooting star streaked across the sky, and Luo Xingye, dressed in white, slowly fell to the ground, ceasing to breathe.
