“Is the auto-transport ok?” She teased while looking out one of the windows.
“Ha ha. So funny.” He replied with as much sarcasm as he could muster. They had been travelling for two days, Alice Springs being a good deal northeast of Gildale.
Aside from the driver, there were four other armed men in the off-roading transport. Each one took shifts driving, allowing them to travel all day and night. They were dubious at best having a Fereece travel with them. But after two days, most of their fears were set aside and they had become accustomed to her presence.
Nicholas, one of the men on the transport, took a seat next to Eldin, “Never had a woman on one of our transports before. Is she any good with a sword?” The man asked smiling.
Eldin completely missed the context of the question. “There probably aren’t any women that are better with a sword then her if I’m being honest.” He replied.
He didn’t know why Nicholas laughed after hearing his answer. He found it best just to forget about the brief exchange and focus on trying to get more sleep. The only problem was that almost everything in the auto-transport was made of metal.
Sipping a glass of cold crystal-clear spring water, Adrok relaxed back into his chair. Sitting on a shaded balcony, he had an unblocked view of the waterfall that provided Alice Springs with their perfect water.
He wore a set of black and red clothes with a cosmic black mantle. Like Elrin, his mantle had been a gift from a Master Element. Ataasias the Goddess of knowledge and darkness. Shimmering a deep almost black purple, the unique mantle had a nebulous look as if one were staring into the universe itself. It was fastened together by a brooch that looked like Eldin’s, but it had a 5-pointed star superimposed over a 7-pointed star symbolizing his status as a Primordius.
Primordius is a title given to an individual able to control 5 elements simultaneously. Only 1 person every few hundred years or so is able to attain this impossible level of control.
Glass in one hand, the other resting comfortably behind his head, he let out a peaceful sigh of relaxation. Although the town was known as a popular travel destination, Adrok had come for other reasons. It was a common fact that the town was haunted. It was also one of the reasons the town was called such. Local legend had it that the village got its name from the ghost that protected the town. Alice. So prominent was this apparition’s existence, that the spring the city was built around was called Alice’s Spring. Though slang these days had everyone refer to it as Alice Springs.

Looking into the folk lore more in-depth, he was able to uncover quite a few insidious accounts of various disappearances and shrieking. Attributing the spirit as a malevolent and fickle thing. Impossible by world standards, the chance of finding an actual spirit was essentially zero. This was due to the fact that a massive orb of energy existed as the planet’s core. All living creatures were connected to it. The orb provided energy, and when a creature died, its energy would return to the center to be supplied to a new life. Such was the structure of life created by the Ancients. The original Gods of the world.
Life force, the soul, commonly known as energy. Was immediately absorbed by the core as soon as its holder died. He had spent months gathering info and researching into the matter. His only plausible conclusion was that if the spirit Alice existed, she was indeed an alien. One that had visited from a different planet and unfortunately died here. Its soul frequency being different from the planetary core, thus immune to its effects.
We would like to note that this man, Adrok. Has far more knowledge than any other living creature on the continent and understands the true nature of the world. The knowledge presented now is only known to very few individuals.
While he was sure he could remove the ghost from existence, he wished to speak to the creature. He could only imagine what information a foreigner would have. The possibility that knowledge of other worlds was within his reach made him ecstatic. Though anyone looking at him would never see that excitement.
Finishing the glass of water, he immediately sensed a swell of magical energy. Looking in the direction of the pit infested plain in front of Alice Springs, he noticed a small flash followed by an explosion off in the distance. He had thought about ridding the town of its current and recently acquired prairie dog issue. However, doing so would re-open the tourism to Alice Springs. The town was far quieter since the giant man-eating prairie dogs that had infested the area around the town deterred most travelers, an aspect of peace and quiet he thoroughly enjoyed.
Standing up, he moved over to the balcony and squinted his eyes trying to get a better look. “Still too far off.” He muttered as he began collecting the moisture in the air, freezing it, and warping it into a faux glass. Adding in the focal point and a few more adjustments, he had created a set of magnifying lenses. Borrowing the dirt from a nearby potted plant, he took more water from the area around him and mixed the dirt with it mid-air creating mud. Next, he formed a crude earthen frame around the lenses and used fire and wind to quickly dry it out and harden. Looking through the recently constructed binoculars, he found the source of magic. A smile crept onto his face as he watched them struggle with the oversized vicious beasts.
“Finally on her own.” He told himself as he viewed Lumina before looking at the other people fighting from the auto-transport. Most of the men were of average talent, each one able to hold their own. One in particular caught his eye.
Creating and adding another set of magnifying ice lenses, he was able to pick out more fine details. It was obvious to him that this spellcaster much younger than the other men on the transport, however he was far superior in technique, power, and tactical prowess.
