Chapter 5: What to Do Norville?!

Norville found himself stuck within the flower shop – outside in the alleyway – Sam and his fellow rats were about to beat up a homeless pigeon. Caroline kept on yapping about her flowers – Norville did his best trying to think of a strategy on how to get out – time wasn’t on his side and he knew if he didn’t arrive soon Marshall would fire him.

“Think Norville, think, how would you handle this” thought Norville.

Norville took a few glances around the flower shop and immediately spotted a leaf blower that was in the back area of the counter. Caroline had kept the leaf blower for the gardeners who would assist her in keeping her flower shop tidy.

“SORRY, HAVE TO BORROW THIS!” cried Norville.

Norville pushed Caroline out of the way.

“Hey, that’s rude!” cried Caroline, “I was in the middle of just getting to the good part of my flowers!”

But Norville knew if he was going to get fired by Marshall, he was going to go out in glory with a leaf blower in his hand!

“FEAR NOT PIGEON, I SHALL SAVE YOU!” laughed Norville.

Norville then bursts out of the flower shop, Caroline didn’t know if she should call the police. She decided to follow him just to see what the fuss was all about. As for the poor pigeon who was homeless, he began to beg for mercy to Sam and the rest of his gang.

“Please, I’m telling you the truth, I saw no bat come this way” said the pigeon, “I’m just minding my own business just sleeping on the rug I have here for myself.”

“A likely story, but you know how we can make you talk” laughed Sam.

Sam and the other rats were cracking their knuckles ready to beat up the poor homeless pigeon – the pigeon puts up his feathers in the hopes of blocking the rats.

  “FEAR NOT CITIZEN!” laughed Norville.

Sam takes a look behind him.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t that bat who thinks we’re related” laughed Sam.

“Um, that’s right and as a cousin to you rats I demand you let that pigeon go” said Norville.

“Just what are you going to do with that ridiculous leaf blower against us?” asked another rat.

Norville never thought on how to use the leaf blower, Caorline decided to assist him.

“Oh, I think this switch turns it on” laughed Caroline.

Norville followed the instructions and the leaf blower went wild, blowing everywhere around the alleyway, knocking down trash cans and causing a big commotion. The leaf blower was able to knock a few trash cans towards the rats knocking a few of them out cold.

“This bat might be a fool, but he can’t control something like that” said Sam.

Sam was the only one who was standing his ground against the leaf blower as the rest of his gang fled. Norville did his best trying to concentrate the leaf blower towards Sam.

“You can’t knock me out since I have a hard hat” laughed Sam.

The hard hat protected Sam somewhat from any flying objects that would otherwise knock him out. Norville knew he had to try something to get around Sam so he can save the pigeon.
