Chapter 10 – Yule in Fairyland

For this part of the tale, we’ll keep things light.
The heroes made way for a glorious sight.
In the boughs of the tree, the gathering of fae.

When tired from play and time came for rest,
The travelers joined at Clover’s request.
A tranquil Yule’s eve, for each of them then.
Happy warm dreams – that cat one again.
The morn of Yule’s dawn, o wondrous day!
Gifts borne by fairies had come their way.

In any place where starshine whiled.
The rest of the day was spent playing games,
And calling each other new silly nicknames.
How it must have felt, for just this day,
Safe from cold judgment, blissful and gay.
Alas, dark things crept when Yule’s night came.
A primal fae monster, called Kingoma by name.
It stole through the shadows; it hid from the moon.
The enclave would need heroes all too soon.
