Neko Life Update 5: KBs next chapter and a New Story Launch

So it's been a while since I last posted. I have a couple of updates. (The second update is below the shoutout for my new story lol)

First, you may have seen a RR notification that I've launched a new story, and this is the project I mentioned a few months ago: Fireflies. This story follows Erika, a young woman living in Honolulu, Hawaii, in an alternate Earth where superheroes exist. Fireflies is pretty different from Karmic Balance in that it's a bit more focused on action and less on psychology. I'm really excited about this new story because superhero fiction has always fascinated me, but I've always had a gripe that my homeland of Hawaii's largely ignored or disregarded in any fiction set on a version of Earth. I'm not too surprised by that because it's a relatively small place and all we're known for is beaches and pineapples, but Hawaii's far more complicated than that, and part of my goal in setting this new story here is to show some of the stuff most people might not be aware of. Let's just say there's a reason such a small place has so many superheroes and supervillains fighting it out, and that will slowly be revealed over the course of the story.

I'll be launching with 3 chapters today, plus a daily chapter over the next week while I figure out what my posting schedule is going to be. Currently, the first 5 chapters are available on my Patreon at the $1 tier, and I will be posting advanced chapters there. Blurb below! I hope you give this story a shot and follow!

Thanks for reading through that first update! Secondly, Karmic Balance being on hiatus. It's taken a few weeks of pouring most of my energy into this new story and life stuff, but I'm getting back to a place where I can resume work on KB. I might not have responded to people, but I appreciate all the comments and messages of support you all have sent my way! It honestly helped a lot. I can't say I'm "good," because anyone who's gone through traumatic experiences like that knows the pain doesn't truly shrink, you just grow around it, and this latest thing isn't the only thing I've had to grow around. However, I can say I'm better now than I was a month ago. Most importantly, my partner's doing better.

I'm going to be doing something starting this week I haven't done since October: writing more of Jun's story. I still don't have any concrete date on when the next chapter of KB will drop, but it will be sometime in the next month or so, depending on how much I can get down in digital ink. After all, I have to balance both Jun's and Erika's stories alongside my life responsibilities.

So, here's to a new story launch, healing, and growth! I love you all, and I hope to see you in the comments.
