Chapter 11: Pleads & Thank Yous

  BOOM BOOM BOOM

"What the fuck, seriously?!" Grey yelled as the container continued to shake and move as if they were having a massive earthquake.

"Ah shit! The gate is right on top of us, let me move it. You stay put. Don't leave the container."

  "Yea I fucking got it."

Grey held onto the rails of the steps as the container tilted and dropped, rolling like a ship out in the ocean, waves crashing into it. Meric swung his body over the sofa and jumped up, kicking off the walls as he made his way out the container. Grey secretly wished something would hit Meric on his head since he was dodging everything perfectly while Grey was getting hit by falling things left and right.

  "Fucking hell!"

The container picked up and slammed to the ground, making Grey crash into the floor and lose his grip on the railing. He slid across the floor as the front of the container lifted in the air and grabbed and clung to the sofa, climbing on top as it slid down towards the wall.

  NNNN NNNN NNNN NNNN

A loud alarm went off in the container, lights began flashing and the sound of screeching metal moving and settling into place grated his ears but he watched as large slats covered the windows and doors.

  BOOOM BOOM

But the shaking only intensified before a thundering boom had the container completely lifting from the ground. Grey gripped the sides of the sofa and held on as the force felt like he dropped three floors in an elevator (despite not being in one) and he hoped Meric would hurry the fuck up as he was starting to get motion sick.

  SCREEEECHHHHHHH BOOM

Grey closed his eyes and tucked his body in a ball as he felt gravity disappear and his body slowly began to float.

"Ah fuck, fuck, fuck." He squeezed his eyes shut and tried to put more force into his hands.

He knew something was wrong but held on for dear life before he felt the pressure of force down and knew that the container was now falling. He just hoped that when it landed he would still be alive.

The container alarm and other sounds kept going off, Grey didn't know what was happening but he knew that it was preparing for something. Just as the alarm was going off, suddenly his body landed on the sofa and bounced from the force. He was ok despite knowing that the container itself had not reached the ground. The container must have some kind of setup where gravity inside was different from the outside.

Haaaa should he be thankful that stalker spent a shit ton of this?

  BOOM

The sound was absurdly loud but the container only vibrated with nothing other than the slight shake of floor. He froze for a moment, checked his body and then looked towards the window covered in some kind of metal slate but he could still see light pouring in through cracks between them.

He sat for a bit trying to calm his heart that was threatening to beat through his chest and settle down his panting as he wiped the sweat from his forehead with shaking hands. His long dark hair was a mess as it had flown everywhere during the whole event. He tried to tie up but his hands were shaking so bad that the most he could do was comb his fingers through it and tuck it behind his ears.

He sat for what felt like ages but was probably less than a few minutes and finally slid to the floor. His strength left him a few times and he nearly face planted into the floor but he gave up and decided he could army crawl just fine. He twisted and slowly crawled his way to the window. It wasn't far but he was still feeling a bit cautious after everything that happened.

He sucked in a breath and leaned against the wall. His body was still weak and shaking but he was slowly getting his nerves under control and inched closer to the ledge. The metal slate left a gap of about 5 inches between each so he was able to see plenty well through the gap, the only problem was that he couldn't see anything.

Dust and dirt filled the view like fog but it was a dark purple and made the sky seem like it was nighttime. Well, that is if there was a sky. Grey had never been in a gate before and he couldn't recall anything from the story so he wasn't sure what to expect. Considering the psychopath his author friend was turning out to be, it could be any weird deranged thing.

When it finally settled, the sky was bright teal blue with a large planet -he assumed that was a moon- that filled up its skyline as if it was right up against the surface. There were exotic plants that made up a forest but they were a transparent watered down milky white color so the dark violet ground still peaked through. It was a scene out of movies, certainly science fiction rich and would have taken his breath away if the giant ass monsters, like dinosaur bugs, heading towards him weren't there. Sigh. But they definitely made it clear he was extremely, royally, and absolutely fucked.

Where the fuck was Meric? These fucking Yangs never actually around when you need them.

They were getting closer and Grey wasn't sure what he could even do at this point. He didn't have any powers that could get rid of them and those worthless Yangs weren't anywhere around. He decided that looking out the window wasn't going to help his already frayed nerves so he turned away and leaned against the wall. They would be there any second. All he could do was stay there and just hope that whatever protected the container when it fell would continue to hold out against a horde of monsters.

He closed his eyes and waited.

  And waited.

And waited some more but nothing was happening. He frowned and then turned to look-

  "Gahhhhh fuck! That scared me!"

There in the gap he could see the face up close of a monster that was attacking the container but he could neither feel the attack or hear the sound. He clutched his chest and sighed.

"Woooo thank fuck. Woo... I'm ok. I'm ok.."

Grey held his hand to his chest and tried not to panic but no matter how many times he counted to ten and took deep breathes, he just couldn't calm down. He sat against the wall, shaking, his body convulsing. His nerves frayed to the max couldn't handle much more. He sucked in a deep breath and slowly turned his head, his vision just barely seeing from the corner of his eyes, and could see the rapid movement of the many monsters that were outside pounding on the container. He didn't know if he should be thankful that he couldn't hear or feel their attack but he still didn't feel safe.

He didn't know how long the shields could last and could only imagine what would happen if they all of sudden failed. He stayed against the wall for a while, afraid that moving would somehow compromise his safety. It wasn't until he noticed there was no longer any movement from the corner of his eye did he work up the nerve to look out through the gap.

Seeing nothing, he collapsed on the floor and let out a laugh of relief. He was covered in sweat and his body was sore from holding onto all the tension and sitting in one position for so long, it felt so good to just let go and lay down. His breathing slowly calmed and fatigue hit him hard, making him want to sleep. But he knew if he stayed there he would definitely end up sick so he forced himself up and looked around the room.

Wasn't there a control panel somewhere?

He remembered that Meric had explained it to him but where was it again? He leaned up and tried to put weight on his legs and wobbled a bit but he leaned against the wall and was able to stumble towards the door where he spotted the panel on the wall beside the door.

He glanced at all the hundreds of buttons and sighed, thank god they were all labeled. He tapped on the button that said "Sound barrier" and held his breath but when nothing happened he let out his breath. He would leave it up since the sounds freaked him out but he needed to be able to hear if Meric came back.

Looking at the panel he could see that all the barriers had already been turned on along with all the shields, he supposed that the container had some sort of security system that automatically flipped the switches. He left everything else alone and then turned towards the tv. There was also a panel on the wall to right of it that would let him monitor the many angles outside. He tapped all the views and the tv turned on with six boxes with different views and angles. Five showed the sides (all except the bottom) and one showed a view that seemed to circle around the entire container. He wasn't sure how it was possible but he assumed it was some kind of ability like the rest of the shit he had been introduced to in this container.

Then he saw a button that said "furniture reset" and stared at it. Is this what he thinks it is? Figuring he would need to see what it was anyway, he tapped it and then watched as everything in the container moved and cleaned itself, as if it had been reset to its position and then fully cleaned as if brand new.

  Fantasy powers were the shit.

He checked the kitchen to see what kind of food he had. He didn't know how long he would be trapped in this place and he wanted to make sure he at least wouldn't starve.

"Ha! He really outdid himself" Grey laughed to himself.

His kitchen was stocked full, both the cabinets and the refrigerator were overflowing. He knew there were probably some types of enchantments on them that would probably keep everything fresh indefinitely. He had to admit, he was really starting to like this gift. He didn't even want to imagine what it would have been like if he were only in a tent. He shivered.

Haaaaa... Looks like he was really going to have to thank that stalker again. Considering that the container basically saved his life a bunch of times already, he could only imagine what that man would try to extort from him. He groaned but then shrugged, it isn't like he didn't know how that stalker would like to be thanked and it wasn't like Grey wouldn't enjoy it either. He was just a little miffed that he felt that he lost a bet though, it was not a pleasant feeling.

He shook his head and the thoughts away and then made his way up the steps. It was his first time upstairs and he glanced around heading towards the side that looked like the master bedroom with two large wooden doors like you would find in some kind of luxury hotel. He frowned at them but turned the knob and stepped inside, his mouth dropping open at the view.

Ahhh that perverted stalker... He shouldn't be surprised, this was totally up his alley.

In the center of the unnaturally large room was an obnoxiously large bed that had a canopy with flowing sheer cream fabric hanging from them and cords that Grey knew they weren't all there for tying the drapes back. That fucker. But the bed did, indeed, look comfy as fuck.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Grey coughed and then turned his attention away from the cozy sexy bed and towards the bathroom. He stripped his clothes and ducked under the rain-like spout, letting the water flow down his head to his toes, the warm water soothing his achy body. Once he was finally done, he stumbled into the very long walk-in closet and nearly fainted.

Who the fuck buys all these clothes just for a camper container?

Grey scrubbed his face with his hands and tried not to feel overwhelmed at the sheer volume of clothes and the clear brand names they sported. He grabbed a change of clothes and tried really hard not to look at the names on the tags and just put them on. He only showered and changed his clothes but he felt mentally drained like he had been to war. He didn't even deal with the man in person and he was already exhausted.

He sat at the top and stared down at the steps with dread. His legs were still trembling and he was worried they may give out on his way down. He sighed and sat down on the top step, then stretched his legs out onto the next and then slid his butt down and repeated the action. It was slow but it was better than dying from breaking his neck as he fell down the stairs from his legs giving out.

When he was finally downstairs he ambled back over to the sofa, stretching out before curling up with a blanket again. He stared at the screen, waiting and watching until he finally dozed off.

He wasn't sure how long he had been in the gate but according to his watch it had already been 6 hours. He got up and made himself something to eat from the kitchen and then sat back down on the sofa to eat and watch the screen. Just as he was about to eat, he paused. Grey frowned and turned his head.

Did he... did he just hear a scream?

He tilted his head and listened. Sure enough, he could hear someone screaming. He stood up and stared at the screens, trying to figure out which direction the scream was coming from. On the left side he could see something moving through the plants and could barely make out three silhouettes of people running. He ran to the window and practically had his face pressed against the window and was finally able to see three people running through the trees.

  "Shit!"

He stood up and ran back towards the tv and checked that there were no monsters around then ran towards the door. On the large panel he tapped the door metal shield, and the metal slats split from the center, half rolled over his head and the other below his feet. He opened the door and took a few steps out until he could see them and then screamed with all his might.

  "Oiiiiiiiii! Over here! OVER HERE!"

He repeated it and waved his hands wildly over and over until he saw them turn and make their way towards him.

"Ah fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck. HURRY UP!"

He was more than panicking at this point as he could finally see the monsters chasing after them, and gaining ground.

"Hurry! They're close!" He urged and bounced in place, his face contorting as his nerves bottomed out.

Grey waved them on and then shoved them in closing the door and hitting the button on the wall and watched as metal slats slid over the door once more, blocking out the monsters just in time once again.

But this time, with the sound barrier off, the sounds of the monster screeching and banging from the attacks was loud and grated on Grey's ears but he tried to ignore it and not look too panicked with the people holding each other in fear as they listened. But after a few minutes had passed and the attacks had no effect, the three people collapsed on the floor panting and crying, trying to catch their breath. The monsters screeching kept everyone on edge but once they finally died down and they realized nothing could damage the shields it seems they had finally let go of their fear and they completely let out cries and sighs of relief.

"We're saved. Thank you. Thank.. sob.. thank you so much." A woman with lavender hair and golden eyes was lying on the floor crying and holding her injured arm.

"Thank you for letting us in. I thought for sure we were dead. We are Yins, by the way." A small petite man with pale blue hair and dark blue eyes looked to Grey and reached for the woman.

Grey nodded, he had already figured that out when they were running instead of fighting. Yangs would have been fighting the monsters but also because he could read their energies and had already seen that they were Yins. He looked at them and then looked to the other man who was laying flat on the floor just panting with his eyes closed. Seeing as he wasn't moving but still breathing, he turned his attention back to the others, "What happened?"

"We were sucked into the gate!" The woman practically sobbed out a yell.

"Sucked in?" Grey frowned in confusion. Grey wanted to face palm, of course they were sucked in. How else could explain the new scenery and monsters? Sure, his current life didn't match his original reality but it was still based off his world so it was only natural to know they were in a completely different world right now.

"Yea, it's rare but it can happen when a gate gets so big that it starts sucking in the immediate surroundings." The man explained.

"But I saw the two S ranks get sucked in too so they should find us soon. If we stay here we should be safe since your container is shielded."

"Oh, you saw Meric and that other one in here too?"

The man nodded and looked at the woman. "Yea, he saved us once already but it's not like we could stay with them because there were too many monsters."

"Right. Now that we found a safe place, they will come for us when they kill all the monsters."

Grey nodded and looked at the man who was helping the woman lift up her sleeve to see the extent of the damage.

"Hey, I have some healing potions in the kitchen and there are some clothes you can change into in the closets upstairs. Help yourself to what you need, if you're hungry, I have food too."

"Oh thank you! Angel, let's get you a potion and cleaned up. I'll borrow a shirt for her if that's ok?"

"Sure thing. Is he ok?" Grey looked at the man still laying on the floor.

"Yea, he is fine. You can let him just stay there. He was on watch for us while we were hiding so he hasn't slept yet and we've been running like crazy for a while now so he must be super exhausted."

Grey nodded and then went to the closet and pulled out a blanket and pillow and put it under his head and draped it over him.

"I will be here so help yourselves to whatever you need."

"Thank you. Ah! I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Faust and this is Angelina."

"Grey." He reached to shake the man's outstretched hand.

"Yea, we know. You're kind of famous already."

"How did you know it was me though?"

"Ah, cough, that is.." Faust looked away embarrassed.

"Your face." Angelina said, gesturing towards her own face with her other hand. "Um, that is to say that you are famous for being so beautiful that you have S ranks enchanted."

Grey stared and blinked with a blank face.

"Ahhh.. he's also the type that doesn't know it. No wonder, just look at that face of not having a clue. Deadly." Faust said with a smirk.

"I know I'm fairly attractive but why does everyone make a big deal out of it? There are so many attractive people that you would think I was some mythical creature of beauty or something. Sorry to disappoint."

"Definitely not disappointed. You truly live up to the rumors, actually they don't do you justice. Anyway. Thanks for everything Grey."

"Yea, yea. We're in this shit hole so we gotta stick together."

"And he's nice too." Angelina said and shook her head as if looking at someone pitiful.

Grey just shook his head and turned away and flopped back on the sofa, he listened as they walked upstairs and turned his attention back towards the tv and watched the screens. The monsters had already left so the angles were monster free but he didn't see anyone else appearing on the screens.

He soon found himself dozing and jolted when he was shaken awake by the man who had been on the floor. He had brown hair and light blue eyes and was staring down at Grey with a concerned face.

"Did you need something?" Grey asked trying to blink away the sleep.

"Ah. I just wanted to see if you were hungry? I made dinner and... Angelina and Faust said we should wake you to see if you wanted something too."

Grey nodded and sat up. "Yea, sure, thanks."

And then looked towards the table to see them already there, preparing to eat. He got up from the sofa and followed him into the dining area and looked at him.

"Did you introduce yourself?" Faust asked and the man blushed and looked back to Grey.

"Mm, I'm Welhim, you can call me Well."

"Grey. Nice to meet you, Well."

"Thank you for the blanket and pillow... mm.. from earlier." Grey smirked at his shy words and nodded.

"You're welcome. Feel free to use whatever. There is plenty so don't be shy."

"T-thank you." Well stuttered and then quickly sat down.

They sat talking, when Well smacked Faust's arm causing him to stop mid-sentence and turn towards Well who pointed towards the tv. Seeing that we all turned our heads and could see a man walking towards the container.

"Shit. It's Kraven." Faust frowned and then looked to Grey. "You know him right?"

Grey frowned and shook his head, "I know all about him but have never met him yet."

"Then I will deal with him. You.... you should probably stay out of sight."

Grey shrugged he didn't care one way or the other but he didn't particularly want to deal with another Yang anyway so when Faust volunteered he was glad to let him.

"Yea, yea. He isn't allowed in." Grey warned. "I don't want another lecture from Meric."

Faust got up from the seat and walked towards the front door and answered the intercom when it rang.

A navy haired man with blood red eyes and an extremely handsome face popped up on the screen above the panel.

"Hmmm, so you were one of the ones I saved earlier but this isn't yours, is it?" Kraven's deep and smooth voice rang through the speaker, making Grey frown at how clear it was. Another enchantment thing? How else would it sound like they were talking in person?

"That's right. The owner was kind enough to save us and let us in."

"Mmm. I see. But..." Kraven paused and then narrowed his eyes at Faust. "Is there a reason I am still speaking to you through the intercom and not face to face?"

Faust flinched and turned to look at Grey who was still eating at the table without looking at them and coughed. "I'm sorry but Meric has forbidden the owner from opening the door to any Yang other than himself."

"Meric?" Kraven's eyes rolled up before returning to Faust and smiling. "Ha, so this is that little C-rank's container, the one that Darren and Talen are sniffing around? I understand." He nodded and stroked his chin with a smile, "I was also commanded to stay away from him so I won't destroy the container after being rejected here."

  "A-ah t-thank you for that."

"Mmm. hhmm." Kraven's face turned blank with indifference and he turned to walk away.

"Are you leaving? Where is Meric?" Faust quickly asked before Kraven could leave.

"And why do I need to answer?" Kraven looked over his shoulder.

"A-ah you d-don't, I was just hoping you could since we are very worried." Faust bowed his head and tried to plead.

Kraven smirked, "I like pretty things. I like your pleading face. Does it look similar when you cry?"

"Ahh I-I'm already married, forgive me." Faust shook his head already knowing what Kraven was insinuating.

"Tsk. Then don't waste my time. Meric is near, you can deal with him then."

Kraven turned and strode away not bothering to look back as he disappeared in the forest. Faust watched the screen a bit more before sinking to the floor, his relief hitting him.

"Faust! Are you ok?" Angelina ran to him and he laughed.

"I'm ok. I was just so relieved he left, my legs gave out."

"That was really shocking." Angelina nodded as if she understood.

"Why?" Grey asked walking over to Faust to help Angelina support him back to the table.

"Kraven is kind of infamous for being the absolute worst. Not only does he hurt Yins but he has a bad temper. If you upset him, he is known to rampage and not in the way where their powers go berserk but just that he starts destroying things and hurting people. We all avoid him but you can never know what sets him off. We are lucky that he was ordered to stay away from you by Jack or who knows what he would have done." Faust shivered and looked at Grey.

"Well that certainly fits the pattern so it doesn't surprise me. All the S ranks I've met have all been... mental." Grey just shrugged and helped him sit down and then made his way back to his seat to eat. "Sounds like Meric will be here soon anyway so at least that is good news."

"Yea, oh I'm so glad! I hope the others are ok too. I know at least five others fell with us."

"How did you all survive the fall?" Grey asked as he took another bite. "I had the container but even that was rough until the shields kicked in. I can't imagine how bad it was without it."

"Ah, we were lucky. We fell into the water. But even that could have killed us but Meric had grabbed us first and then tossed us sideways to break the power of the fall. I don't know about the others though, but we saw them running so we know they somehow survived it."

"I see. I'm glad Meric was there to help." Haaa at least he was good for something.

"Look! There they are!" Well yelled as he pointed at the tv screen. They all turned their heads and stared at the screen seeing a bunch of people come from the forest and make their way towards the container. Grey sighed when he spotted Meric leading them.

Grey nodded and then headed towards the door and undid the shields as Meric and the five other Yins followed behind him, some limping but for the most part they all looked to be in one piece.

When Meric finally arrived, he walked out the door and scanned him from head to toe to make sure he was ok.

"You alright?" Grey asked as he saw his jacket ripped in some areas and blue stains all over.

Meric chuckled and stepped closer, "You worried about me? How about some purification?"

"Seems you're perfectly fine." Grey mumbled and turned to the others. "I have potions inside, you can get some food and a change of clothes if you need it."

He motioned to the others to come inside. The others sighed and cheered happily, thanking him as they walked inside.

"Any problems?" Meric asked as he ushered Grey inside behind the others.

Grey shook his head, "Just the original fall was a bit rough but no harm done."

  "What about.. Kraven?"

"Ah, yea he stopped by but we didn't let him in and since he was commanded by Jack not to approach me, he didn't destroy the container."

"Destroy the container? Hah that bastard. I'm going to grab the container and head towards the gate. We've killed all the monsters so we can exit now. This was a random Temporary gate so it will disappear once we leave. You guys go ahead and settle in, I'll come back in when we are outside the gate."
