Stampede

"does the water kill them that easily?" Ellie asked, turning to Victor

"I know they're made of fire but doesn't it seem a bit too convenient to just splash them with water and have them disappear?"

"It would seem so at first glance" Victor replied

"But there's more going on than meets the eye"

"It's not that the water kills them, it just causes them pain"

"And being dumped in that much water would make it unbearable to be there so the lions have no choice but to return."

"I see" Ellie said, nodding her head.

"This move gives Orie the upper hand right?" She asked

"Not exactly" Victor replied with doubt in his voice

  "That was a desperate move"

"If he had tried gathering water the normal way, he would have been overwhelmed because the heat in the arena reduced the humidity"

"Freezing them was illogical and would take even longer so the quick solution was to turn what was already abundant into cold water so he did that with the ground"

"The amount of energy he expended doing this in an instant would be very taxing so this is definitely a desperate move"

The heat from the lions evaporated the pond and when the vapor cleared, Orie and Waramaki were standing in a giant, perfectly round pit. It was the kind of sight that made the maintenance crew look up to the sky and be grateful it was happening in the final match because the damage they were already looking at was going to be a hassle to fix and there was still more to come. The repair of the previous match was very demanding so it was a relief to know that they could work at a slower pace after this one.

Still with heavy breath, Orie took slow steps towards Waramaki who was on the opposite side of the arena that was now a pit. Waramaki was also walking towards Orie and with each step he took, a wolf appeared beside him.

When the number of wolves reached about twenty, Waramaki pointed a finger at Orie and the wolves knew what to do. Some dashed directly at Orie while others tried to flank him. They brandished their fangs and their razor sharp claws, and they let out growling so loud the crowd could hear it in-between their cheering.

Any normal person in this situation would be scared, but Orie wasn't exactly normal. He ran straight at the pack and grabbed the foreleg of the first wolf to jump at him and then used it smack away another wolf that came at him from his right side. For the one that came at him from the left, he turned to look at it and let out a roar that sent everything in that direction flying. He punched, kicked, grabbed, threw, he even slapped but the wolves did not relent. What made things even more difficult for Orie was that Waramaki was also stepping in to try and get a few strikes in. The number of wolves kept increasing and they swarmed him to the point where his best option was to roar at the nearest wolves just so he could see space to move.

"Another desperate move" Victor said, watching from the stands

  "Another desperate situation"

"Sometimes it appears to me that this man forgets what he can do"

"And what exactly can he do to get out of this situation?" Ellie asked

  "EVERYTHING"

Orie was stuck in the middle of the arena struggling with the wolves until suddenly, he wasn't. The next place he was seen was in the air, high above the arena with his hand raised towards the sky as he chanted loudly

  "NZOGBU(STAMPEDE!!!)"

  "NZOGBU(STAMPEDE!!!)"

  "ENYIMBA!!!"

Suddenly, a large elephant fell from the sky and landed in the arena, causing the whole stadium to shake. On the back of the elephant stood Orie with almost no expression on his face but it looked like he was holding back a smile.

"So you still had something else up your sleeve" Waramaki said as he slowly backed away

"It was foolish of me to not consider that you may be able to summon to turn the tide"

"I really do have to go all out against you" he said as he raised his hand and called out with a loud voice.

  "COME FORTH!"

  "OBSCURUM!!"

But nothing happened. He called out again, louder but still got nothing. It soon became apparent that the dragon had abandoned him, his contract was broken. At this point he had no other choice but to run around the arena as the elephant chased after him, but running wasn't going to do anything for him, his normal attacks didn't even slow it down and he couldn't get a chance to charge up anything powerful, all he could do at the moment was to be fast enough to not get stepped on. It was really starting to look like his loss, then he suddenly had an idea.

The crowd watched the elephant chase after Waramaki for more than a minute and then it suddenly started moving in a frenzy as if it was backing away from something. Most people could see it with their naked eyes but the cameras were able to capture the appearance of a mouse in the arena, snowy white with a pinkish nose and inner ears.

The sudden distraction caused Orie to lose sight of Waramaki's position and before he could regain balance, he was knocked down from the back of the elephant. He stood up immediately to try and get back on but when he looked at the elephant, its feet were stuck in the ground and couldn't move. He turned to look at Waramaki who was coming at him with a smile and a punch to the face.

The ringing in his ears brought Orie to the realisation that he may not be able to keep fighting for much longer. Being unable to dodge that first punch was a sign that his senses were getting dull, the match had to end quickly if he was to win.

In-between the intense close combat he and Waramaki were engaged in, Orie waved his hand at the elephant and it vanished. The almost instantaneously, he opened a great distance between him and his opponent.

"It's been really fun" he said from across the arena

"But now I have to end it"

Before Waramaki could think of a response, he heard a deafening sound like the snap of a finger in his left ear and suddenly Orie was in front of him. Before he could react, he heard the sound of one hand clapping, a slap to his face, a slap so loud that it caused cracks in Kojiro's barrier, a slap that sent him to the ground.

  "Aka'nti"

"AND THE WINNER OF THE FINAL MATCH OF THE NEW WORLD TEACHERS' TOURNAMENT IS...."
