Shattered Windows Chapter 3: The start of the battle

  --

The people were drinking near the sunny skyline in the rich areas of Scizor. Buildings so tall it didn't feel true. In the rich areas of Scizor janitors don't mop blood stains and dump corpses out into the dark corners of town, instead they clean get paid nothing and get preached about religion. Almost everybody living a life so much better than where our story left off, I mean women have the same level of pay as men and black people are treated without racism because the founder found inspiration in the ten commandments, especially loving your neighbor. How the islamic belief talked about how in front of your one and only god you are the same no matter the gender. There are good days, then there are days when the rain soils your fun, other days where people have to get vaccinated, so many small cases of virus attacks that the kids never even knew it existed, they just attended school to get an education.

Nothings perfect, women specifically wives need to cover their faces, and some families call for the extreme interpretation of their religious texts, how women need to stay home, definitely not a place for the gay, bi or any of the LGBTQ. But even in the slums of Scizor people find a way to be happy in the small moments, even if the king treats the place like his abandoned children he has no interest in talking too.

As Malfonz spends time with the kids we move back to the people, because this no longer is only his story it is about the community. Malfonz gave the vaccine to his granny and she passed it along to the many doctors she knows of personally, she didn't ask why he didn't do anything with it but she knows he must have been scared like a little kid, she pat him on the head as she made her trip around the town. She gave samples to the doctors and scientists that can make more of the vaccine and in cheaper so that everybody in the slums can have a fighting chance. Not everybody made it out, but most did.

Malfonz got mentioned as the town hero that day, a small good act goes a long way but even then not everyone likes you in the end. The people in debt lived in fear but slowly forgot all about him, he never showed up ever again it felt like, they made it out of poverty and the many payers decided to help the many still stuck in the same cause. Neova was sleeping through all of this, belly out and scratching what ever part of his body was aching.

The cafe managed to be an icon of the slums as a home for many, people that ran from from wars, racism and just a nice area for the many still suffering debt from many others like Malfonz. It felt like with enough money maybe even the police can help the many still stuck in injustice. As many still get the chance to dream, to move to the rich areas, to be able to live out, many still relax because now they don't have to worry about the vaccine anymore.

Maybe today was a good day, and yet it is still not over. Of course many attacks still happen and we lose a little, but we found the meaning in losing so that we don't lose again. Fin.
