Chapter Fifty-Three: Grand Waltz
Xue Luo wanted to ignore him, walking straight past him to the other side, but he walked towards her instead, so unhesitating and direct that it made her footsteps slow down.
And he stood in front of her, with a sarcastic smile at the corner of his lips: "A matter between husband and wife? What is that? Why don't I understand?"
His words made Snow's face flush red. It was clear that he had heard it all, but what did he mean by being sarcastic to her? Was she supposed to pretend to be a weak and timid wife in the face of provocation from other women? Or should she make a big fuss, cry loudly, and eat vinegar, which was the behavior expected of her as the legitimate wife?
"Vito, you're here! I was just looking for you. Want to dance with me?" Diana's sticky voice came over again, and without even looking, it was clear that her fiery figure had already stuck to someone's face in an S-shape.
Snow falls lightly, smiling faintly, lowering her eyes, this kind of calmness, as if she were an outsider, just a detached observer.
He glanced at Diana, who was tightly wrapped around his arm, and gently pushed her away with a smile on his face. "Diana, sorry, didn't you see my wife is here?"
In this way, Snow's words sounded like a duet, as if she was afraid that others would not know that she was his wife, and he, apparently, did not welcome her.
But he really did let go of Diana, reached out to take her hand, she was still doubting his actions, but had already been taken into his arms, sliding into the dance pool.
She really couldn't understand him, but at this moment, being so close and being held by his strong arms, she didn't even dare to look at him.
His dance moves were beautiful, fortunately she had learned to dance and could keep up with his pace. However, due to the bright lights, or the spinning being too fast, or the crowd of people making too much noise, she felt dizzy and couldn't think for herself. There was a feeling that if she put her hand in his palm, everything would be under his control. But it wasn't like that, he disliked her so much, even going as far as to make fun of her in front of others, right?
As soon as the modern waltz ended, before Snow had even regained her composure, she heard thunderous applause beside her ear. It turned out that at some point in time, the entire venue was left with only the two of them dancing, while everyone else surrounded them on all sides, watching their dance.
She had never been exposed to so many people before, not even at the wedding, there were not so many people, let alone so many flashing magnesium lights. And in her life, she was always on the quiet side, someone kept protecting her in his arms, not letting outsiders see her.
"My goodness, this is too wonderful! This has opened our eyes...!" Governor Carter clapped his hands and laughed loudly, then turned to Robert beside him and said, "Look, look, your son is as excellent as can be, it's just that I don't have the good fortune..."
"What did the governor say?" Cui's aunt said with a busy smile, "With these beautiful daughters of yours, you'll definitely find a son-in-law who is a hundred times better than Mu..."
Xue Luo didn't get used to being stared at by people, quietly struggled free from Cang Mu's hand and squeezed into the crowd. The latter looked at her fleeing figure, his lips slightly raised.
There is still more, express urgency... occasionally snail... ~~>
