I woke with a start, which was unusual. I usually took a long time waking up, then would lounge in bed, slowly opening my eyes and finally stumble out of bed toward the bathroom. This time, I was wide awake and sat up immediately. As I looked around, I found myself in a cave. A cave of all things. Can this be real? Everything looked so real. I started to doubt that I was in a coma. I looked around and saw it was a good-sized cave. About 30 feet deep, 15 - 18 feet wide, and 10 to 15 feet tall. It was dry, and both the walls and floor were smooth. Almost as if it was carved out of the rock.

  I also noticed there was a table with boxes and bags on it. I got up and walked to the table. When I got there, I found a sword (his sword from the demon battle?), a spear, a knife, two rings, and a necklace were laying on the table. This was in addition to the boxes and bag. There was also a letter. The letter immediately caught his attention and he picked it up and started read.

  I brought you to a world that contains essence. The essence is needed to repair you soul. You have badly damaged your soul by taking a physical body in Heaven’s Path. You will need 5 years to absorb the magical essence from the environment to fully recover. You can speed this up by killing Monsters and absorbing their essence. Also good deeds will help repair your soul. I have provided equipment to allow you to survive in this world. However, I suggest you seek out other humans to interact with since humans don’t really do well alone for extended periods. There is a small city about 20 miles through the forest toward the rising sun. Between there and here are many creatures and monsters. It will be a dangerous journey, but I know you can make it.

  For the journey, I have provided weapons and food. I also provided a bedroll and camping gear. The bowl in the box contains a porridge that refills three times a day. The bag contains some Healing and antidote potions, if needed. You can also store the bowl in it. The box contains light armor, a belt, and throwing daggers.

  Since this is a magic world, you can determine the properties of your equipment by using the Identification skill, which the system gave you. Look at an item think Identification. I suggest trying on one of the rings now. The more you use and practice your skills, the better they become.

  What the hell, why not, and picked up one of the rings, looked at it and thought Identify. Nothing happened. Talk about disappointing. What am I doing wrong. I tried again, nothing. I looked at the letter again and saw the word was identification with a capital I. I looked at the ring and thought Identification.

  Ring Storage

  Description:

  This ring provides the bonded user a dimensional space to store items. It cannot store living beings. Any attempt to store living beings will result in dead beings.

  Usage:

  Bonded user touches item and thinks Store Item. Item will be placed in ring’s storage. To retrieve a specific item, user thinks Retrieve item name. To view a list of items, user thinks Review Inventory.

  Capacity:

  Current 250 cubic meters. This may increase as user levels.

  To bond to the ring, you need to push your mana into the ring. This will allow you to use the ring and prevent anyone else from using it. At least as long as you are alive. You should also identify all the other items on the table after finishing this letter.

  In this world, everyone has a class and/or a profession. Some classes are typically combat oriented, and may be physical, magic, or a combination. Professions are non-combat oriented, mostly, and are categorized as either mundane or magical. You may only have 1 class, but multiple professions. You have the Class CHAMPION of Life. I have masked the class until your soul is fully recovered. Champion class combines both physical and magic combat. It is a strong class and will help you in this world. You will discover more as you progress. I should call out that you will not receive experience until your soul has fully recovered.
