Chapter Eight: Family Help

Valentina opened Google Meet, opening the room, waiting for Nikolai to join. After about five minutes, Valentina saw Nikolai join the room. "Hi, Valya," Nikolai said. "Hi, Nikolai. How's your day been?" Valentina asked. "It's been good. Oh, eight people came today with the compensation money for what happened. Then they came back to work at the flower shop. Mom, aunty, and Veta are in the living room if you want to talk with them." Nikolai answered. "I want to talk with them, too. I...uh, have to ask about...something." Valentina said.

"Is it about grown-up stuff?" Nikolai asked, "Is romantic love grown-up stuff?" Valentina muttered. "Oh, that does sound like grown-up stuff." Nikolai got up from his bed, taking the laptop to the living room. "Mom, aunty, Veta. Valya wants to talk to you." Nikolai said. "Oh? Valya, what do you want to talk about?" Elizaveta asked. "Wait, shouldn't we be speaking in English for others to understand? It's rude to leave them out." Anastasiya stated, "Oh, I'm alone at the moment. The person caring for me is preparing lunch." Valentina said.

"So, what does my little girl want to talk about?" Mariya asked, "Oh, well, it's about-" "Valya is wondering about grown-up love." Nikolai spoke over Valentina. "Ni-nikolai!" Valentina blushed. "Are you sure that you're in love?" Anastasiya asked. "Mhmm. My stomach is fluttering, and my heart is pounding. My face feels hot when I'm close to them. Every time we're close, I blush madly. My legs feel shaky. And I just want them to hold me." Valentina whispered. "My little girl really is in love. Head-over-heels in love." Mariya smiled, making Valentina blush more.

"So, who's the lucky guy, Valya?" Elizaveta asked, "They're a girl." Valentina hid her face behind her hands. "Ooh, a lady, huh? I always knew there was something about you. No one just dismisses as many confessions from attractive men as you do if they're straight." Elizaveta teased. "Elizaveta!" Valentina pouted, kicking her feet. "Who's the lucky lady that captured my little girl's heart?" Mariya asked.

"Her." Valentina turned the laptop to Tomoe in the kitchen. "The woman who had you kidnapped?" Anastasiya asked, "Yeah...she's kind, gentle, soft, playful, caring, and firm. She really cares about me." Valentina said. "Okay, Valya. But does she like you?" Anastasiya asked. Valentina shrugged, "I hope so." Valentina whispered. "Well, Valya. Wait a day and watch her expressions, then confess." Mariya said.

"How would I confess?" Valentina asked. "Like this. You look her in the eyes, hold her hands, tell her your feelings, and then ask her to be your girlfriend." Elizaveta said. As Valentina continued talking with her family, Tomoe looked up from preparing everything for the sushi. She sure is talking her ass off in Russian. I wonder what she's even talking about? I mean, it sounds somewhat intense with her reactions. But then again, she is rather emotional. So it could just be nothing important. Tomoe began making the sushi and sides.
