Chapter 3: Revelation Teachings

“Yes, let’s go.” Gonad’s grin returned. “Today’s the first day, right?”

“You mean the Revelation Teachings before the Awakening ceremony?”

Revelation Teachings: The School of Infinite’s final?year program that gives students a brief but intense introduction to Awakening and to the wider world they will step into afterward.

“Yeah. These three days of teaching are the most exciting. Let’s go, hehe.”

Everyone reached the classroom before the first bell. The air felt heavier than usual, as if the whole academy were holding its breath. Like everyone else, WINI and Gonad arrived on time and slipped into their usual row.

Just as Gonad was about to sit, he spotted a familiar face among the new ones. A girl with calm, steady eyes.

So that’s her, he realized. The transfer student…

Aarna sat near the middle, posture straight, expression unreadable. She did not look nervous, only focused.

Before class officially began, a boy strolled up to her desk, wearing a confident smile.

“Hey there,” he said, smoothing back his hair. “My name is Miron. Miron Tuberlin. Nice to meet you.”

Aarna looked at him with a flat, disinterested gaze. “Do you want something?”

Miron blinked, a little thrown. “Looks like you didn’t hear me properly. I said, my name is Miron Tuberlin—”

Then the reality of where he was seemed to catch up with him. The School of Infinite was not an ordinary academy. Most students here were not impressed by names, even those from powerful families—and Aarna’s expression hadn’t changed once during their exchange.

His smile faltered. Without another word, Miron retreated to his seat, feeling smaller than when he had walked over.

A moment later, the teacher entered, and the room snapped to attention.

“Hello, everyone,” she said, her voice carrying easily through the hall. “Today I will introduce the Awakening event and explain the differences between the levels you will soon face.”

Murmurs faded. Even the most restless students went still.

“First,” she continued, “let us speak about the Awakening itself. The event is held at Origin Cliff for a reason.”

She tapped the board, and an image of a vast cliff face appeared—a sharp edge between sky and abyss.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

“Origin Cliff represents the border between the known and the unknown,” she said. “It stands at the boundary between mortal life and soul realization. When you look down, you feel your mortality and fragility. When you look up, you feel the cosmos and infinite possibility.”

She paused, letting the image sink in.

“The atmosphere there is unique. The winds whisper like voices of the soul. The horizon stretches endlessly, giving cultivators the sense of stepping into eternity. At dawn and dusk, the cliff glows with a light that mirrors the spark of your soul.”

A few students shivered, imagining it. Gonad leaned forward, eyes bright. WINI stared at the image, silent.

“Now,” the teacher said, “let me tell you how Awakening happens.

Awakening begins when you first understand the nature of your soul.”

She wrote a list on the board.

  Common soul natures include:

  - Flame Soul

  - River Soul

  - Stone Soul

  - Light Soul

  - Wind Soul

  Medium?grade types include:

  - Lotus Soul

  - Shadow Soul

  Rare and legendary types include:

  - Moon Soul

  - Radiant Soul

  - Natural Soul

  Very unique types include:

  - Void Soul

  - Phoenix Soul

  - Astral Soul

  - Ancestral Soul

“These,” she said, turning back to them, “are the soul types known to most people so far. But there are a few more you will learn about in the future.”

  Pens scratched, devices recorded.

“Every soul has its own reason for awakening as it does,” she went on. “It depends on the individual’s thoughts and nature. In some bloodlines, visions and traits are interlinked, so descendants often awaken similar or related souls. But that is only in a small number of cases.”

She cleared the board and began a new diagram.

“Next are the cultivation stages. Listen carefully.

  Stage 1: Awakening

  - Initial Nature Realm – The first flicker of soul power.

  - Soul Realization Level – Understanding the true nature of one’s soul.

  - Resonance Level – Soul begins to harmonize with the body.

“This first stage is the most crucial,” she said. “It is the only time you can cross up to three levels at once, depending on how deeply you understand your soul’s nature. Some fail at the second step, the Realization level, but can still awaken at Resonance.

“However, if you truly understand something you believe in—your core truth—you may awaken a medium, or even a rare soul type. Remember this: you will only truly face your thoughts during Awakening. Before or after, you will not be able to fully recall that sensation or the true field of possibilities you glimpsed.”

  Her gaze swept the room.

“After Awakening, the path becomes harder. That is when true cultivation begins. I will only name the stages; the details, you must explore yourselves.”

  She wrote again.

  Stage 2: Communication

  - Soul Whisper – Faint echoes of the soul can be heard.

  - Soul Voice – Clear communication with the soul, guiding growth.

  - Harmony Flow – Body and soul move in balance; strength stabilizes.

  Stage 3: Integration

  - Bloodline Bond – Soul power merges with inherited bloodline traits.

  - Soul Fusion – Body and soul fully integrated, unlocking unique abilities.

  - Ancestral Echo – Bloodline wisdom awakens, shaping destiny.

  She underlined the final heading.

  Stage 4: Ascension

  - Cosmic Veil – Awareness of the unknown cosmos begins.

  - Soul Ascension – Transcendence beyond mortal limits, stepping into the vast unknown.
