Nier's face was not visible from his jacket, only his pulsing red eyes; from a face-on view, it made him look intimidating. However, to Lady Blue, who now had her eyes on him, it made him look suspicious.

  And that was exactly what was happening here; as she spoke, her words were basically snder, as it was as demoralizing as he remembered it.

  "Hmph! You might say that, but I have a keen sense; I have definitely met you somewhere, I just don't remember where... Well, maybe if I…

  She pondered to herself as she grabbed Nier's hand and held it; in that moment, her eyes opened wide as she looked at Nier with wide eyes.

  'Shit, don't tell me she found out. Fuck, I have to get the hell out of here.'

  He said to himself; however, what Lady Blue said next shocked him.

  "You're Bernard's brat, aren't you?"

  "What!?"

  Nier's eyes open up. That was not what he was expecting to hear. No, why the hell does this woman know his father? No, a better question is, how does she know his father? And an even better question: how the hell is she even alive?

  "You are awfully quiet, boy?"

  "...How do you know that name?"

  Nier asked; at this moment, his voice became more serious than ever. After all, who the hell is Lady Blue really? If she were even minutely reted to his parents in any shape or form, he would have at least known her, so why does she know him and his father? The only memory of Lady Blue he himself had was her attacking him st night in his eagle form, because she mistook him for a Flux.

  But then Lady Blue smiled, a genuine and terrifying smile, as she said.

  "So it's true, you're that bastard son, hehehehehe.... Tell me, boy, where the hell is that vixen? Where is Era?"

  "Dead."

  "... Ha, stop your bullshit. You want me to believe the doctor, and that bitch is dead. Good joke."

  However, Nier didn't reply, and then it hit her.

  "You're joking, right?"

  "I am afraid not; my mom and dad died more than a decade ago as a result of a double suicide."

  Lady Blue's smile faded in that moment as she said.

  "The Doctor... Suicide... Him of all people, I know... NO, he did look like he was going through a tough time even back then, even before he suddenly disappeared on us as he did, but... no, I refuse to believe this; he would never do that unless…

  "Um, Commander."

  Quick Feline said, getting her attention, causing Lady Blue to eye her down and shout.

  "WHATTTT!?"

  She shouted, causing Melody to tremble in fear as her aura fred up and was aimed at her; as a result of this, her tail stiffened, her ears rose, and the hair on her body began to stand up.

  "EWHHHHH!! Sorry, sorry, it's just that the exam is about to begin."

  Lady Blue was vividly annoyed, but her lieutenant did have a point; as such, she looked at Nier and said.

  "Oi, brat, what's your name?"

  "You know my dad and even call me Bernard's kid, and yet you don't know my name?"

  "I don't give a shit, loser; just tell me your name. Besides, I met you when you were two years old. I don't look it, but I am forty-one years old."

  "So you met me when I was a kid; by that logic, you were a kid too, right? I mean, I am thirty-seven."

  "I met the Doctor when I was three. I don't have the best memory, but I remember people by the texture of their cells. Unless you're some kind of shapeshifter, there is no way I can mispce you."

  "Nier... My name is Nier."

  "What a stupid name."

  "Rude, but ok."

  Nier replied as he began to ponder to himself.

  'So the reason she didn't recognize me is due to the fact that the texture of my cells changes when I transform into my eagle form, so by that logic, as long as I don't transform into a form she is familiar with, I am safe. Still, who would have thought that I actually had history with this woman if I wasn't removed from the concept of time? I would have said this meeting was fated.'

  'But my father being a doctor, yeah, that checks out; after all, he has studied the Augustus Tome his entire life and even picked up on the ancient nguage needed to read it. He is very knowledgeable in the genetic field.'

  'But whatever, fate or not, it doesn't change the fact that she is a dangerous variable; I need to stay away from her at all costs, at least till I am strong enough to take camities like her head-on.'

  This was Nier's honest opinion on the matter; he needed to focus on the remake of Kaly's Cult.

  And so far, he was doing quite well.

  All things considered.

  But thankfully, Lady Blue didn't waste any more time than needed as she sighed and said to Nier.

  "Nier, I will remember the name. For now, get your ass in the ringer with the other losers. "Oi, Melody, carry him inside the portal room."

  "Of course, Commander, let's go, Nier."

  With that, Quick Feline guided Nier more to the back, where a giant portal was. Standing there were twelve other people; with him now present, the number jumped to thirteen in total.

  "As expected, you also made it as well... My calcutions were spot on."

  Eva said as she walked up to Nier and looked him dead in the eye.

  However, Nier brushed her off and walked away with Quick Feline behind him.

  "You're quite popur; first the commander, and now even that robot chick."

  "I always had a way with girls, but that aside, why the hell is one of the Association's top heroines even here? Isn't she supposed to be in Nollywood?"

  Nier asked, and Melody replied.

  "I shouldn't be telling you this, as it's cssified information, but I feel like I can trust you. As of st month, a new species of Flux has been discovered. One that the associations are still trying to understand, but we got orders to kill them on sight if we ever cross paths with them, as leaving them alive would put a lot of people in danger otherwise."

  "Aren't new species of Fluxes typically discovered almost every other day, though? What makes this one so special, to the point it has a kill-on-sight order on its head?"

  Quick Feline had a serious expression on her face when Nier asked this, and her reply was kind of scary.

  "This Flux is a species of Flux that is capable of shapeshifting into other Fluxes just by seeing them... They are quite simir to skinwalkers, but unlike them, they are not as intelligent; rather, they are quite aggressive and rabid, as they have a vast hunger for flesh. They also seem to have a particur liking for human flesh despite not really needing it to survive."

  "Recent tests have shown they can get by just fine with chicken or cow. Just st night, they attacked over two thousand homes across the country, and the scary part is they seem to have the uncanny ability to travel through mirrors, so catching them is almost close to impossible."

  "The only thing we know about them is that they only ever attack when it is nighttime, and as soon as they kill and eat their prey, they vanish just as quickly. However, killing them is easy; as long as you don't have anything that can be considered a mirror with you, it's just that more and more of them seem to be popping up."

  "And since we can't properly contain them, they are cssified as a Css Bck Threat. At least skinwalkers were a css yellow; you could capture them, but these things, now cssified as mimics, cannot be contained as such; they are beled as Bck."

  "However, the scary part is, we recently discovered they are being led by something, basically stronger mimics, but they can talk. Naturally, the Association manages to capture one of these talking Mimics, and we learn they come from a dimension that is called the Inversion. And their queen orders them to feast upon this world too and grow their numbers more."

  "And as for why Lady Blue is here, it would seem an eagle-type mimic was spotted in Lunaris, the same as the one that she was fighting st night in Nellywood before it suddenly escaped her, and now the association has deployed five of their ten commanders to capture it alive. And Lady Blue picked Lunaris as her hunting ground to capture the fiend."

  The moment Nier heard this, he internally panicked, as he said.

  'Oh No... If that's the case...then that would mean I have a bounty on my head...this isn't good.'
