My name is Meld. Today I turn eighteen, and at st, I am old enough to take the Hero Exam.
"Yawnnn…
Meld yawned to himself as he dragged himself out of bed. He was short, exactly five feet tall, with tanned skin and short, spiky pink hair that gave him a slightly feminine look.
As he sat up, his bedroom door swung open, and a familiar voice rang out.
Standing in the doorway was a girl who towered over him, exactly six feet tall. She wore a sleek, full-body white suit that hugged every curve. Her breasts were rge yet perfectly proportioned to her slender frame, and her hips were thick and eye-catching.
Heavy silver boots cd her feet, and two long cat tails swayed behind her. Her skin was the same warm tan as Meld's, and her short silver hair was styled in a sharp bob cut. A pair of silver cat ears perched atop her head, matching the color of her eyebrows. From the sleeveless gloves she wore, sharp, thick, silver cat-like cws extended from her fingertips.
She looked down at the pink-haired boy with a confident grin.
"Rise and shine, little bro! Today's the day we finally show the big boss just how cool you are!"
Her voice was firm and full of pride.
Meld just chuckled, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"You're overselling it, sis. I'm really not that strong. My powers aren't combat-oriented like yours."
"Nonsense! Being able to see glimpses of the future in your dreams and read a person's true nature with a single gnce? That is incredibly useful. Even Grey Seer wants you on her team, and you know it's not easy to catch the attention of a famous hero in the Association."
She crossed her arms and continued.
"Besides, despite only being a Level 2 Hesta, you've got insane talent. You can already use Occult Magic and manipute the ws of nature with Gaian energy like a proper Level 3 should, and you're not even there yet. Have some pride in yourself, little bro."
Meld's face turned red at this as he replied back.
"You're embarrassing me with all this praise, sis… And my dreams are random, I can't just predict the future whenever I want. It only happens when I'm in danger."
"Then that just means you'll breeze through the special administration exam, no big deal."
She shot back with a smirk.
"Especially since your ability only activates when your life's on the line, or when something serious is about to happen, or when you're personally involved."
"Well… I guess you're right."
Meld admitted.
He finally stood up and looked at the woman in front of him, his older sister, Melody.
Like him, she was a Hesta, and one of the most popur ones in the Hero Association. Known as Quick Feline, she was a Level 4 Hesta whose speed was unmatched by almost anyone in the organization.
More than anything, Meld wanted to prove his worth to her.
The special administration exam was essentially a fast track. It let you skip the regur exams and go straight to a test overseen by the Association's top brass. Even if you failed, you were still accepted, it was mostly a formality to showcase your skills to the highest-ranking heroes.
There were only two ways to qualify for it.
The first was through direct recommendation from a high-ranking hero. In Meld's case, he had earned his spot thanks to both his sister and his teacher.
The second was by performing so extraordinarily on the regur exam that the instructors couldn't properly evaluate you, meaning you were deemed beyond normal human limits.
Meld would’ve preferred to earn his pce the second way.
Unfortunately, nepotism had already paved the path for him.
"Well then get suited up Meld, special admission examination is nothing like normal one it is essentially a small free-for-all against the best of the best."
"Of course."
"Don't worry, you will do just find, especially with the new Flux weapon I got you."
"Wait you got me a weapon!?"
Meld asked looking at his sister who gave him a smile and said,
"You have no idea how much I want to see you succeed, I spent more than half my savings just to get this thing. Also Grey Seer chipped in as well, and did her own upgrades on it, this thing will give you the power of a level four."
"...N-No... Way....
"Hehe Yes Way, now get up, and let's get you ready."
With that, Meld went to change into his new gear, as he prepared to take the admission exam. Unaware of the hell he was about to experience.
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, someone else was also about to enter the special admission exam, albeit by natural talent and power alone.
"What the hell is going on with today's examinees?!"
The instructor's hands shook as he stared at the monitor. The other candidates around him weren't handling it any better.
"H-He's an even bigger monster than that Eva girl…”
"Dear God… is this what real talent looks like? A diamond in a sea of copper coins."
"Life's so unfair. Why do all the pretty boys get to be the center of attention?"
"Shut up, man! You want him to hear you? You trying to get wrecked by a guy like that?"
The entire hall was in chaos, and for good reason.
Nier, of course, looked completely unfazed.
'Was I really this strong before?'
He had every right to wonder. At that moment, the testing machine was screaming error messages. The hydraulic press above him, currently applying its absolute maximum load, was being held up effortlessly with one hand.
250,000 tons.
That was the machine's limit. It literally couldn't apply any more pressure.
"That's the weight of a small cargo ship… What the hell is this guy? And that was without using his powers. What the fuck."
The instructor muttered to himself in disbelief.
This was a serious problem.
The physical strength test came first for a reason: to establish a baseline of the candidate's raw, unenhanced power. If their cutting-edge equipment, designed to push even Metahumans to their breaking point, couldn't measure someone, then the theory and ability portions became pointless. There was simply no way to properly evaluate them at that level.
That's exactly why the special admission program existed.
Sure, rich kids and well-connected applicants could buy or nepotism their way in… but they usually crashed and burned when faced with real monsters like this.
Even so, the instructor had never expected to send two candidates upstairs back-to-back.
First #77 (Eva).
Now #69.
He sighed deeply, rubbing his temples, then activated his comms again.
"Control, this is Floor 1. Sending another one up. Yeah, I know...second one today from this batch."
A stunned silence came from the other end, followed by reluctant acceptance.
The instructor turned to the red hair figure still standing casually under the ruined testing rig.
"#69, same as #77. Take that elevator. Someone will meet you at the top. Don't forget to grab your gear."
"Of course."
Nier replied calmly.
With that Nier began to get his gear, and changed in the changing room quickly before leaving for the elevator.
The other test takers watch him in envy, and to be honest who could bme them.
It was no secret to them that the Hero Association had a Special Admission program.
Since alot of people here unlike Nier was serious about becoming a Hero.
And those who entered that fray, would without a doubt assure their position.
Nier on the other hand was clueless about this program, and was merley following orders.
Still as he entered the elevator and it started to go up, Kaly suddenly appear on his shoulder and sitting on it as she said.
"Good job babe."
"Hehe, thanks, still I don't remember being this physically strong."
"Oh that's because of your mutation st night."
"Wait really, my mutation cause this."
"Yeah, your eagle form and human form is equal in strength, so it's basically your default strength all things considered."
Said Kaly as she expined to Nier the reason for his sudden burst of strength,. causing him to reply as such.
"I see... I guess I owe Lady Blue for pushing to the extreme then."
"Heheh, I guess you do."
Kaly said leaning on his cheeks snuggling with her hubby.
"So warm, still I can sense a lot of stronger individual upstairs."
"Me too, it's strange I can feel alot of power houses, but that level 4, is the strongest one up there."
"That one is strong probably as strong as the current you... Sniff, the smell of female too, how curious."
Kaly said, but then she got up, and floated inside Nier hoodie as the elevator came to a stop.
"...It looks like that same woman is here to personally meet you."
Moments ter the elevator doors open up, and the moment it did a familiar face greeted him.
This woman simir to Lady Blue, despite not being as popur was also a hero.
And one of the top ten heroes in his Sector no less, despite Lunaris being retively quiet and almost peaceful at times.
"Quick Feline."
Nier said as he looked at the tan skin beauty before him.
"Hahaha... It seems you already know who I am from the jump, good, good... So you are the second recruit to get into the special admission examination, ha, I see why now."
She said while rubbing his head.
As a cat like Hesta, she had the instincts of one, and to be honest, her instincts was telling her to run.
'Why was that?'
She wondered, still looking him up and down, Quick Feline said to herself.
'What a hot body this one has, despite hiding his physique with that hoody of his, I can see just how toned and well trained it is.'
