—Take off your pants!
She didn’t even hear his words. She remained frozen on the floor, stunned. Her ability to understand anything had completely shattered.
The man was growing impatient. He grabbed her by the hair and whispered into her ear with irritation:
—If you don’t do it the easy way, I’ll go look for your sister… and I won’t be gentle with her.
Bridget finally snapped.
—You can’t do this! You’ll pay for it, you’ll see. Once things go back to normal, you—
—Hahaha!
The man’s ughter cut her off. His face appeared just inches from hers, making her recoil in fear.
His expression showed a sordid, insane smile, and his eyes—his pupils were so dited that his irises were barely visible.
—Do you really think anyone will care about a slut like you? Have you seen the bodies in the streets? Wake up, idiot! The world has gone to hell and we’re all going to die! I’m sick of it! Sick of pretentious shit like you! Do you think you’re better than me? Do you think you deserve to live?
His voice grew louder, more unhinged.
—Well, let me tell you something! I’ll rape you over and over again, and then I’ll go find your sister and do it to her right in front of you!
—NO!!
Bridget screamed with all her strength, shaking her head violently.
Ecstatic, he looked at her with a horrifying smile and said in a distorted voice:
—And that’s not all. If you don’t do what I say… in the end I’ll kill her. And I’ll eat her. I’ll eat her right in front of you.
—No… stop. I’ll do it. I’ll do it!
Only after saying those words did she react. Trembling uncontrolbly, she began to unbuckle her belt.
—Faster! Damn it!
The moment she loosened her pants, he shoved her forward against the counter and pulled them down himself.
—Hey… this is the most beautiful ass I’ve ever seen in my life.
He spoke again, his voice suddenly more human.
When she felt his hands grabbing her, moving toward the center of her being, she began to cry even harder.
The man burst into ughter as he reached into her pants and began undoing them.
—You and I are going to—
BAM!
Before he could finish the sentence, a bullet tore through the back of his head. He didn’t even realize he was dead.
—What the hell?!—Hey! What’s going on?!
The man abusing Allison shouted in shock, while the one standing farther back peeked out.
BAM! BAM!
Before either of them could react, both took a bullet to the head and colpsed onto the floor.
When it was over, Bridget frantically pulled her pants back up. All she wanted was for it to end.
Allison, on the other hand, stayed exactly where she was. She seemed to be in shock—and honestly, no one could bme her.
—What happened?!—Oh God… he’s dead.—Did they kill them?!
After hearing the repeated gunshots, the group that had been in the back came out.
Abby was the first to move. When she reached the front, she didn’t even look at the bodies on the floor before throwing herself into Bridget’s arms.
—Aaah… Aaaah… AAAH!
—I’m okay. It’s over now. We’re going to be fine.
Bridget tried to calm her sister, though she couldn’t even calm herself. What had happened that day would scar them for the rest of their lives.
Especially Allison.
After everyone else came out, Camil hugged her tightly, but she only began to tremble, her face completely bnk.
—If you’re done… I think you should leave. The gunshots will attract more of them, so we need to move.
Only after hearing his voice did everyone turn their attention to him.
The person who had saved them was a young man, around twenty years old, with brown hair and light-colored eyes, wearing a leather jacket.
Cooper picked up a weapon from the floor, looked at him with suspicion, and asked:
—Who are you?
The young man looked at him calmly before answering:
—My name is Ethan.
Everything was dark.
Kus couldn’t see anything. He couldn’t hear anything. He couldn’t move.
He could only think.
—Am I dead?
Then, in the middle of the darkness, a dark light emerged.
It was incredibly surreal, shining with such intensity that it made the surrounding darkness pale in comparison.
After staring at it for some time, Kus began to feel drawn to it. Unconsciously, he raised his hand and reached toward the dark light.
—AARGH!
Suddenly, a piercing pain shot through his body—so intense that it forced his eyes open.
The first thing he saw was a vagrant cmped onto his side with his teeth.
Instinctively, he searched for his gun, but it was nowhere in sight.
—Grrrr!
As he felt the teeth sink deeper into his flesh, Kus stopped looking for the gun. Instead, he grabbed a rge stone and smashed it into the vagrant’s head.
The blow was so powerful that the man’s head split open like a watermelon.
Kus froze for a moment at the sight.
—AAARGH!
But there was no time to stand there stunned. Several of those abnormals were charging toward him like madmen.
Without time to think, Kus began running for his life once again.
He hadn’t yet recovered from the blow to his head, and the pain in his abdomen was unbearable.
Even so, he kept running, crossing several streets before stopping. The abnormals were still chasing him—he knew he couldn’t lose them.
He looked around desperately for something to defend himself with, but found nothing.
In the end, he settled for a shard of broken gss taken from a car.
—AAARGH!
There was no time to prepare. The two abnormals chasing him had caught up.
—AAAH!
Without giving them the chance to strike first, Kus lunged at one of them, driving the gss shard into its eye, killing it instantly.
The second one leapt onto him, knocking him to the ground, and began punching his face repeatedly.
But Kus twisted his body, ending up on top, and began beating it with all his strength.
He hit it so hard, for so long, that the monster’s face became completely disfigured—yet he kept hitting it.
Not because it was still alive…
…but because he felt something else.
A strange energy.
Cold, yet refreshing.
It flooded every pore of his body.
There was only one word to describe that feeling.
Power.
