Abby. After going through all the written documents pulled from the lab right after the disappearance of Wilder, we can come to a few conclusions.

  1. Most of the research must have been taken, or just the hardware, computers, etc because what’s left are mostly dated paper files that cover a period of four months and stop, a month ago. There were some that were photocopied letters from as far back as 2024.

  2. But even so, it looks like a lot has been burned per outside incinerator.

  3. After the 27/28 pandemic, there were experiments done on creating hybrids to locate, carry and bury the dead. There were millions. There was also a concerted effort to create species that could tolerate the harsh climate we were beginning to experience.

  4. The obvious animals for dead human extraction would be either leopard, wolverine, a member of the candid family, a few bird species or human.

  5. That meant that the smell of decaying human flesh was the trigger to locate with highly tuned olfactory sense, then to carry the bodies to a place where they buried them.

  6. But, the missing data leaves us with a conundrum, how do those hybrids get into buildings, rooms, remove all the clothes unless they are human/derivative. Or more than one working in tandem.

  7. Since most were infected with one of the two deadly viruses, the hybrid had to be completely resistant to them which would cause a year or more of delay to initiate new trials for compatibility unless they were working with humans. A vaccine for the deadly hemorrhagic virus was discovered too late by a special project whose mission was to eliminate all defective and mutated genes to give us an advantage in coping for the next hundred years or so. It appears it was a stunning success but later on that. We are still trying to wrap our heads around what exactly happened.

  8. Since these journals, being written by the remainders and ‘V’s across the globe, are a sort of eye witness account or record of a period in our history that still remains unclear and also who if any will read them, we’re assuming that you may not know much so we try to write for you.

  9. All the genomic trials that eventually created a ‘product’, sent frozen embryos to licensed facilities who had the means to hold the embryo and slowly thaw it over a period of a week. Then all their AI supported hardware, raised the infant until it was capable of taking care of itself, meaning drinking, eating and maintenance.

  10. When AI went down, the labs shut down but the ones like the one Wilder found had enough power from continuous storage of solar power to continue to operate on a much scaled down operation according to how much solar energy was stored in the bank of batteries and until available food ran out. It appears as though they used the same Amazon warehouse for dry animal food as the kids or ‘little ‘V’s used.

  11. Unfortunately, some of the frozen embryo market were from dark labs who used unscrupulous procedures and material with no oversight, some lacking any specific mission at all except to see what horrific thing they could create for personal body guards, earth bound and ariel and it seems just for shits and giggles.

  12. That’s what we’re faced with, I believe. An illegal lab that purchased from dark lab creators, taken over by a lab assistant after everyone had either died or left, a kid who defrosted the marginal embryos, caged and fed them until the food was gone, then left.

Gillian. Search and seizure. Went on plenty of these so know the routine. We attempted to sketch out a profile given all the intel we had, never the less were prepared for anything including something with wings which actually made sense to me but no one else. For one thing, Wilder was taken by surprise. He was standing recording at the time in a little open landscaped park nearby so he could constantly have a 360 view. Unless whatever took him changed the location of the clothes to throw us off which shows intelligence. Edit. Just watched the vid from the Eyebot and saw it.

On the preliminary search we brought two mature ‘V’s with us for an auditory and olfactory extended reach but also for a sixth sense they have of danger. Apparently, all senses alert, a warning flash occurred even though they hadn’t seen anything. Kind of like when a smoke detector goes off at the first hint of too much smoke. After assessing the scent and asking for approval from their greater growing psychic Collective, they told us that it was better for a few of them to disable it and locate Wilder from In-sight, searching for the memory. When disabled they would let us know so we could cage it. Killing is antithetical to their nature, unless absolutely necessary.

I’ll let them describe their capture but will say that I was right and grateful that the ‘V’s are all okay. Zenith was of course worried and almost called off their plan but finally relented when Cuma assured her that one of them would be enough, that the plan included three only to make it seem less dangerous to us. When Cuma let us know that we could come and decide its fate, I only asked where. And what a sight! After three years in intense conflict with all manner of tech shit including at the end, a new breed of biobots, I was pretty much ready for anything.

Cuma. I stayed waiting for the outcome to inform those who wished to eliminate the Mutation. Having assessed its scent previously, we have a good idea or picture of what this one looks like. Scary to humans, a creature bred for clean up that knows nothing but survival and the cravings for human meat, dead or alive. To us, this is just the continuation of humans making the same mistakes and compounding their mistakes with even more dangerous solutions. One of the first jobs of the Consortium should be to locate and destroy all of these lab, whether legal or not. They’re a moral travesty that speaks to the human condition.

This decision was made with the existing back-in full ‘V’s with a day for any questions or improvements on a first presented solution. A few were taken, a few discarded but all agreed to the solution. This is the seventh time on the planet when the Consortium was brought into the mix along with LUNA. We would use a few decoys of two young adults finding the small park and sharing intimacies on the park bench. LUNA has been instructed to create lifelike figures with a set of instructions and a SAT’S eye on the scene, with a familiar protocol of stunning whatever appears for a half hour depending on weight, to give us time for the humans to go and id the mutation and decide on its status. A Sbot was located on a roof of the lowest building to also record it, at the last minute. Jagger and Gillian were informed when the mutation was down.

Jagger. Yep, we’re definitely in a brave new world where large decisions are made by an unseen Consortium of those we once hated and fought and a quantum computer on the moon who collaborates with them and the ‘Vs on the best outcome. I’m okay with this as long as they have our own best outcome in mind and virtually, I suppose.

This is the first time the Triumvirate has come together to solve a problem for us, the death of a member of the Keep, once a bunch of resisters in dire straights finding this old library and Zenith. It happened fast as if the thing had been waiting. The two virtual decoys having an animated discussion on dating during this weird time, seemingly oblivious of the thing that just flew a few branches down to be directly above them, and the within seconds dropping with a thud right next to them, lol, not interrupting their conversation at all.

We hurried over, wrapped the thing in a tarp and brought it to the cage we’d prepared that was a bit more hospitable. The decision to save it and study it with a list of questions came from both us and the Consortium relayed to us through Cuma. Did it speak, what animals went into creating it. Could the ‘V’s see its memories, any of its history and where it had taken Wilder.

We, four plus me, have decided to occupy the lab, of course heavily armed to explore it thoroughly and extract as much intel as we can from it. Hidden computers would be a start. Two ‘V’s have also decided to be with us as an extra precaution. Collaboration again.
