Prologue

Prologue: The Great Inversion It has been twenty- two years since the sky "cracked." What the scientists first called an anomaly, the survivors now simply call The Inversion. On that day, dungeons pierced the earth's crust across every continent. They didn't just bring monsters; they brought mana, chaos, and the start of a new world. They brought mana.

Modern weaponry—bullets, missiles, even nuclear payloads—proved useless inside the "Blue Zones" surrounding these towers. Technology simply jammed, leaving humanity defenseless against the nightmares crawling out of the gates.

Humanity's salvation came not from steel, but from mana. Scientists discovered that crystals harvested from dead monsters could be refined into a votile, glowing substance: crystal fluid.

When injected into a human with the right genetic "resonance," the fluid reacts with the soul. This is the Liquid Glow Reaction. It turns a person's blood into a battery of pure, destructive energy. This birthed the Hunter Css, and with them, the new social hierarchy.

In the modern era, your worth is no longer determined by your bank account but by the color of your veins when you "channel."

Eighty per cent of the awakened popution are the manual borers of the new world. You'll see them in the "Low- Zones," hauling monster carcasses or mining ore in cleared floors. To the Guilds, they are repceable fuel.

These are the "Tactical Assets." They live in the Spires, the gleaming skyscrapers built around the most stable Dungeons. They are the celebrities of the new age, with sponsorship deals and private security.

Ruby and diamond ranks are essentially walking natural disasters. A Diamond- rank Hunter doesn't' just clear a dungeon; they rewrite the map. Their mana "burns" so hot that the Liquid Glow inside them reaches a prismatic white, a heat that can vaporize steel.

The world is now divided into sectors. Each sector is governed by The Order, which has more political power than any organisation before it.

The Order oversees the functioning of the guilds in each sector. Globally, more than 500 sectors exist, with numerous guilds- small or rge- and even smaller parties operating within areas of each sector. If a Boss Room isn't cleared by its "Stagnation Date," the dungeon vomits its contents into the streets. Entire cities have been erased this way. All global power- electricity, heating, medicine- is now run on Essence Stones. If the Hunters stop diving, the lights go out worldwide.
