Looking down at her child who had just closed his eyes, she looks up with her smile still plastered on her face. “Call in Gustav quickly.” She said in an excited tone. The man she called father quickly excites the room and within a minute, a large and burly man slowly peeks into the room, causing the women to uncontrollably laugh out loud. “Why are you so scared? Come meet your son!” The woman says through her broken laughter. The man slowly walks inside and looks down into the face of the sleeping toddler who had the same pale skin as his mother, but had his jet black hair. Leaning down he quietly asks :”What color were his eyes?” He looks up expectantly. The woman freezes in thought, then curiously she says, “I-I think they were Grey. But that can't be right. Neither of us have grey eyes. Neither do our families. I must have seen it wrong. I suppose we will know when he opens his eyes again. The man looks at her confused “Grey? That's an odd color. Oh well, I suppose it doesn't matter. Bridgette, are you feeling ok?” He asks somewhat anxiously. He had heard many horror stories of husbands losing their wives during child birth. That was his biggest fear during this whole event. Seeing her husband's anxious expression she lets out another chuckle. I feel fine Gustav. Just a little exhausted. I'm glad to have all of that weight off my stomach though.” She says lightly, looking up at Gustav she flashes him a smile. “I'm just glad the baby is healthy.” She says brightly as she lays back with the sleeping Charlie in her arms. “What did you name the boy?” He asks suddenly. “You're just now asking?” She teases him light-heartedly. This causes his face to flush red, and makes him want to bury his head into the bed. His reaction only causes her chuckle to turn into boisterous laughter. “H-how can a super strong warrior like you act like such a push over!” She cackles maniacally . “You're the only one who'd dare to tease me like this so I'm not used to it. Stop making fun of me and tell me my son's name.” He says trying to put on a stoic face. Bridgette takes a few minutes to kill her laughter because every time she would look at Gustav's face she would begin to laugh again.
10 minutes later when she finally calmed down, she said his name flatly, almost anticlimactically for how long it took. “Charles,” She said simply. “Charles?” Not exactly a common name in this day and age but I don't hate it. “We can call him Charlie” She says, betraying her monotone facial expression. With a rare chuckle, Gustav stands up and kisses his wife's forehead. “I will allow you and the child to sleep now.” He said simply before making his way to the door. “WAIT!” she called out startling Gustav. He spins around urgently looking for anything wrong with the child. But he only saw his wife holding the baby up to his height. “You forgot to kiss little Charlie” she says with an innocent smile on her face. Taking a deep breath he steps closer and kisses the child's fragile forehead. “You say you are tired, but it seems to me you have plenty of energy.” He grumbles as he walks out of the room, closing the door quietly. Now alone with her baby Bridgette kisses his forehead in the same spot Gustav did and she settles back into bed and carefully lays the baby beside her before closing her eyes with a smile on her lips.
When Gustav exits the room and closes the door he sits down at the small dining room table where his father in law sat drinking from a wooden mug. “How is she and the baby?” He asks when he sits into a chair, “They are fine. They are probably sleeping.” Gustav said quietly as he reached for the dusty bottle on the table and poured the clear liquid inside into a mug as well. The man nods his head approvingly. “Don't let her strain herself for the next few days but make sure sure she is walking. She has to rebuild her strength slowly.” He explains slowly and clearly. Gustav nods and thanks him. “Thank you Lord Northwater. I couldn't have done this alone. And I'm sure she felt better having you here as well.” He waves his hand dismissively. “Don't worry about it young Gustav also don't call me Lord Northwater anymore. You are my son in law Afterall. Anyway, don't worry about it, like I'd miss my grandchild's birth. Heh when I told Marie what was going on she demanded I bring her too. But if I brought her, then I would have to ride slower and I doubt I would have made it in time.” He threw back on his cloak and made for the door. “When the boy wakes up, bring him to the manor. Just be low key about it, we don't need to draw attention to you two. The Devil cult is making more moves lately. So be careful.” Reginald said with a stern face. “Yes Lord Reginald I understand. We will come when they are able.” He gave a simple bow. Reginald shakes his head at the use of title and manners. Then he turns and walks out the door without another word. Gustav sits back in his chair and drinks from his mug taking in the quiet atmosphere despite the intensity of past events.

Meanwhile inside of Charlie's dreams he wakes up in a familiar place. His high school bed room. Rubbing his yes, he slips out of bed. Confused, he goes into the bathroom looking at himself. Was it a dream? He thinks to himself, washing his face he begins to get ready for school as if nothing happened. And just like that, he slips back into his old high school routine. Going to school, being with his Arlyn, going home. Soon he remembers the isolation he felt from her. He loved Arlyn more than everything else. All he wanted to do was be with her, However with her family being religious, they were unable to be together with the consent of her parents. So they could only be together while at school. Holding onto the only hope of her being able to make her own decisions at 18. So they hold on hoping they last until that day. Eventually something gives away when a problem arises.
Charlie's childhood dog begins to act weird and grows sick. When they take it to the vet they learn the dog has cancer. Charlie, feeling a weird nostalgia is broken and becomes depressed. This changes his daily routine slightly, instead of being happy at school with Arlyn, his mood takes a shift and the Happy Charlie living a blissful life is nowhere to be seen. One day while Charlie is at school with Arlyn, he looks over at her to see her sad and depressed. Realizing it is all his fault she feels this way, he makes an off hand remark about not being much of a couple anymore. She only stays quiet, and the day ends just like any other. Depressing and lonely. When Charlie gets home he looks down at his phone to see a message from Arlyn. “Hey, I was thinking about what you said earlier and I think you're right, You're never happy anymore so I think we should break up.” When Charlie read the message, ringing sounded in his ears. He gets dizzy and can only manage to message back “Why?”. It didn't take long to get a response. “Because you aren't happy anymore, and besides you don't ever do anything.” Tears begin to pour down Charlie's face. He begins to beg her to give him another chance however it is too late. She stops responding soon after. Charlie spirals out of control. Unable to see her face anymore, he drops out of school. And locks himself in his room and stops responding to his parents. Many times, they tried to pull him out of his room however he would just lay on his face on the grass or in the driveway. Eventually they gave up and left him alone. Occasionally Robert would come and talk to him to cheer him up. However it was all futile. Charlie stayed locked up for months. One day, he gets a message from his now ex Arlyn. “Hey are you doing ok?” When Charlie saw this message all he saw was red. “Of course I'm not ok! You abandon me. What happened to all that stuff we used to talk about? I stayed with you for 3 years so we can have an actual relationship, but you left me 4 months before you turned 18? So what was I just to waste your time until you could actually date someone you wanted?” It goes on like this for a long time. Until she only apologizes and that was the last time Charlie ever heard from her again. Later in Charlie's bitter and depressed mind, he realizes that she might have wanted to rekindle things. However it was too late and he might even just be imagining things. This only made him more pathetic and reclused. He slowly falls back into the same mistakes he made in the past.
