Just a Normal Day

It was a normal day. The room was dark as night though, thanks to the curtains put up so that the man sleeping would not be affected by the light as he slept peacfully. That was until we was woken up, not by an alarm or a usual sound but by a voice no one on the planet had heard before.

Preparations for the Tutorial complete ... Welcome

Alex, who was just in a vivid dream where he was flying happily now suddenly shot awake, not on his bed, but a bed of grass and dirt. He looked around and saw others like him, equally as confused as he was. Then that voice came again, straight into his head, and a screen appeared in front of himm.

Panic struck the masses, people questioned what was happening, some even tried to slap themselves awake, but not Alex. Alex knew what happened, he was an avid reader, particularly of the fantasy genre and he knew an isekai when he saw it. He was confused yes and worried about his family and friends, but the status screen cleared it up for him. You see Alex was someone that was supernaturally calm under pressure, so much so that his easygoing nature got him in trouble sometimes.

From all of his knowledge of the genre he did what every protagonist first learns in a game and thought the word Status.

His screen showed him a lot, it was clearly an RPG inspired world, the stats seemed obvious to him, HP was health, SP was stamina, MP stood for Mana and his other stats in order were strength, endurance, agility, and intelligence. He focused more on the skills.

He then shouted out "Everyone, please think of the word Status. It might help you."

After doing so, he noticed everyone's eyes glued onto what would be a screen, clearly they were invisible to everybody else. He was then approached by an older gentleman, hair salt and pepper and wrinkles beginning to form. "Hi, I'm Isaac. How did you know to do that."

To that he replied "I read, it's a pretty common trope in the litrpg genre."

"I see. Do you any other advice?" asked Isaac politely.

Alex replied, also polite, quite unnatural for him, "We should look for food and shelter first, I mean we need to survive for a month." He then awkwardly excused himself from the conversation, saying he wasn't sure what other advice he could givee.

Alex wasn't a bad people person, in fact he had a way with words sometimes, he was just naturally a loner, preferring to be alone with his books and games. He then tried to sneak away as naturally as he could to be alone to think. He thought for a second and then came to and idea to think of the word Inventory.

  Inventory:

  Basic Adventurer's Tee (Common)

  Basic Adventurer's Pants (Common)

  Basic Adventurer's Boots (Common)

  Basic Adventurer's Sword (Common)

They appeared to be just generic medieval fantasy clothes, but they were better than his pajamas at least. With another thought Alex tried to take them out and to his delight they did. He then appraised the items.

The items didn't even have descriptions, just stats, but they were a lot, it was more than a fifty percent increase to the stats provided. Alex couldn't put them on right now though, there were too many people around, he couldn't just change. His next course of action should be to explore. He was clearly in some forest environment and with this gear he seemed more confident to venture out. What's the worst that could happen.

As he walked out of the open plain and into the forested area. He found a place to hide and change his clothes. He then went out and instantly encountered a wild animal.

  Sharpfang Squirrel Lv 2

It looked like a normal squirrel but it was slightly larger, about the size of a rabbit. What was different though was the rabid look it had as it charged at Alex with superhuman speed. Right as it was about to bite him, he dodged out of the way. He then drew his sword and swung it at the squirrel, only for it to the dodge out of the way and counterattack. Thankfully Alex recovered in time and brought back his sword to skewer the little critter.
