It’s been a week since I had arrived in Riverbend, and it has been a treat. Not since the batteries first died on my collar had I slept so soundly. Not to say I didn’t enjoy my knighting party, but I can see why we write "Rest in Peace" instead of "Party in Peace." Though I wish for this bliss to last, I can feel that it is not meant to be. I wasn’t stationed here for vacation, after all.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this moment of peace. May these memories remind me of the Love and Mercy You have shown me and have called us to spread throughout this broken world.
Please look after New Malta in my absence, just as You looked after me in my years of weakness. Please give my parents the peace of heart my selfishness has upset. Please, have mercy on us sinners who have strayed so far from You.
Amen.
