Our story starts at around 2:15 pm this afternoon, during the school assembly, when we all disappear. Well, I say that, but my story starts years before that, on the first day I noticed that some of my dreams… weren’t just dreams. I’m one of the rare people that have prophetic dreams even on Earth. Many of my dreams showed me not my own life but the lives of others, often on magical, alien worlds. I discovered that Earth is one of very few planets with no magic. A couple months ago, I started having dreams of a new world and everything that would happen on it; it was shown clearly that this was my own life I was seeing.
So I wasn’t surprised when, after being told to bring our backpacks to the gymnasium for assembly, the entire world turned white. I was simply hoping that my mom didn’t panic too badly when she found my note.
My schoolmates, on the other hand, were rather terrified. We landed on a blank gray surface with no visible boundaries or horizons. Everyone began to talk almost at once, checking for wounds and panicking and generally creating minor chaos. I grabbed my friends and focused on calming fears, though I’m sure they wondered why I wasn’t scared.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Soon enough, though, their panic began to calm and they started to explore the blank, featureless place we’d landed in. Some cross-country runners tried to search for the edge, but as soon as they passed out of our view, they reappeared on the other side, running toward the group. To everyone’s confusion, they claimed to have run in a straight line. Someone said it was probably set up so we couldn’t venture too far in any direction and had to stay together. Someone else pointed out that since nothing was actively attempting to harm or communicate with us, we should probably rest since something would probably happen soon.
“How would you know that?”
“I’ve read a lot of ‘summoned to another world’ stories.” Which totally didn’t inspire any confidence in him, but we started to settle in anyway. I guess no one noticed the blurry silver outline hovering only yards away from us as if watching...
….which is why I’m currently staring up at a glowing silver - um, person - that appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
