Chapter 61: Because of Greed

  "Not here... where could it be?" Lin Yue muttered to herself under the table, suddenly lifted her head and "thudded" into the table, hurting so much that she sat on the floor rubbing her head.

  The person behind him inadvertently revealed a faint shallow smile.

  "Where was it when you last saw it?"

  "I had it in my bag last night! Lin Yue bit her lip, puzzled, "But I couldn't find it again when I was at the company today."

  "Oh?" He narrowed his eyes, "Who knows, you have a habit of keeping records in your notes?"

  "What are you reacting to?" Lin Yue hurriedly said, "You suspect someone stole it? That's impossible, they're all my good friends! Besides, why would anyone steal my notes?"

  Gu Xi Cen hesitated, a faint smile playing on her lips. "You don't have to look for it now."

  He smiled and nodded, "Mm."

  Gu Xi Cen slowly got up, looking at her who was still on the ground, "Because of human greed."

  He dropped this sentence and turned out of her laboratory.

  "Greed..." Lin Yue'er muttered to herself, repeating the two words.

  She would rather lose it than see anything ugly happen.

  The days went by quietly until a few days later, Director Yang returned to the research department with an unpleasant expression. He came to Lin Yue'er and hesitantly said, "That... Little Yue, General Manager wants you to go to his office for a while."

  "Minister, what does the general manager want from me?" Lin Yue'er asked curiously.

  "Uh, it's just... something came up."

  Seeing Director Yang being evasive, a hint of unease flashed across Lin Yue'er's mind.

  Beside her, Yan Xiao Jun raised his head and gazed at her, carelessly lowering his eyelids again as he continued with what he was doing.
