Elanore left the city behind her, entering the forest again. Only when she started walking through the trees did she realize something crucial. I left that entire carriage behind…
Pot tilted his frame. “What’s wrong, your majesty?”
“N-nothing is wrong! Nothing at all.”
That’s right. There’s no issue with leaving behind rubbish anyway. I will make a better automated carriage later! What are they going to do, sue me?
Naela sighed as they walked. “I have a feeling I am going to miss that place, even though our stay was brief.”
Elanore shook her head. “The only thing you will miss is the food, but fear not. I will endeavor to cook you the best dishes!”
“Really, mistress!?” The wyvern waved her tail around in her excitement, cutting pieces of foliage in the way.
“Of course! Now that we are out of the city, it’s about time for me to see what is so special about these clothes.”
She found a spot next to a small pond where there was a large flat stone, and she placed the wooden crate down. The vampire witch opened the latches, and the clothing presented itself to her.
On the very top, there was a fancy letter. Take this extra dress as a gift, your friend Helena.
The vampire’s eyes widened. Had they really become friends in such a short time period? When it came to matters of kinship, the vampire had no idea. Instead, she turned her attention back to the clothes. On the top, it was exactly what she asked for. There was a white skirt with a pink band around the waist, and on top of that, there was a breathable pink t-shirt. At the center of the shirt was a certain white bat cauldron.
Elanore smiled. “This looks adorable! [Inspect]!”
Behind these two items, there was the underwear and socks she requested. And under everything, the backdrop of it all, was the gift from Helena. It was an extravagant white and frilly princess dress with pink outlines.
“Ah, the only thing I am missing now is shoes to go with these. Though, I suppose for now my current shoes will suffice.”
The wyvern tilted her head while looking down at the items. “I am curious what you will do with these. Another outfit for yourself, mistress?”
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Yes, I will also need to provide an enchantment for them, so that they don’t rip or tear. I will need to do the same thing for your outfit. Don’t worry, I will make slots for your wings to fit through.”
Pot blinked his one pink eye several times. “Is it possible that I may be blessed with clothing in the future, your majesty?”
Elanore turned to the cauldron and chuckled. “I have no idea if anyone makes clothing for pots, but I can picture it. You would look cute in a butler suit.”
A butler cauldron that makes energy drinks. This has to be a first? Elanore put aside those thoughts and she pointed her staff at all of the clothing articles. A pink mist gathered before coating all of them, and they collected inside of her inventory.
“I guess if I am going to make enchantments for our clothing it would be a good idea to read this enchanting grimoire.” Elanore waved around the book with her free hand.
Having a grimoire in one hand and a staff in the other really takes home this concept of being a witch. The only problem with the book is it’s off colored from everything else. Of course, that could always be fixed later.
Like a spark, she got a flash of inspiration. Yes, that could work!
“What’s with that look, mistress?” Naela asked. “Did you come up with a new idea? Have you figured out where we’re going?”
Elanore shook her head. “I did come up with an idea, but it has nothing to do with where we’re going. That can always be figured out later. We have all of the rest of time to arrive at anywhere we want to.”
///
And arrive at somewhere, they did. The trio stood in front of a stone formation inside of the forest. Two tall pillars stood next to the entrance of a structure with stairs going down. Elanore’s years of playing the MMO sparked to life. She started bouncing up and down while looking down the stairs and dark passageway.
“Is this what I think it is!?”
“It’s a dungeon, mistress.”
The vampire grinned and rushed forwards down the steps. She passed through something that was like a thin film in the air. It reminded her of the feeling of passing through cobwebs, only it didn’t linger on her skin like something that made her want to claw at her arms.
And once she was inside, her eyes adjusted immediately to the dark, and a chime played in her head.
[You have entered [Golimer’s Dungeon of the Forsaken]!]
Ooh, what an ominous sounding name.
A click of a tongue behind her stopped the vampire’s musing. “Mistress, did you really have to rush in right away? I wasn’t even finished explaining anything to you.”
The vampire witch shrugged. “There is no need of explaining. It’s better to venture ourselves than have it explained to us. Do you even know much about dungeons?”
Naela’s cheeks reddened. “No! But I know that there are rules the humans operate with when traveling into them.”
“Rules, shmules. What do these things have to do with me, Queen of the Energy Drinks, and Seeker of all Mana Cores?”
Pot caught up right behind the wyvern and laughed. “I like this title, Queen of the Energy Drinks. Truly fitting for someone of your status, your majesty!”
Another chime echoed inside of Elanore’s head.
[Congratulations! You have gained a new title! [Queen of the Energy Drinks]! May this title serve you in all future endeavors!]
“[Status]!”
There it was in all of its glory. The quest for a true energy drink paradise had started with this one title.
Though, she wasn’t allowed to gaze at the magnificence of it for long. The sound of dungeon critters made themselves known in the claustrophobic hallway. They were almost like the calls of birds, but the creatures were not birds. At least not ones that Elanore was familiar with.
Raptors!?
