It happened in an instant.
As the king’s sword strike turned into a flash of light and swept toward the
group, Elaton threw himself forward in a panic.
Driven solely by the resolve to protect everyone, he did not hesitate.
Then the sound of the earth splitting struck their ears.
Bang!
“A—ahhh…!”
Tamar’s body trembled violently.
Red blood scattered across the quiet green grassland.
“Kgh! Grrrk!”
Elaton’s shield shattered into fragments and fell to the ground.
And the left arm that had held it was gone, as if it had been erased.
“Aaaah!”
At Tamar’s scream, countless vines erupted from the ground, wrapping around
Elaton and enclosing him.
They gathered like a massive wall, trying to protect their precious brother.
Gilgamesh smiled faintly and adjusted his stance. He intended to cut through
the vines as well.
At that moment, dozens of walls of light formed around him like a prison.
Then a sandstorm surged and condensed into shield-like forms, protecting Elaton
from the front.
Azael was using the spirit forms of Marbala and Abarkash.
Slash!
The walls of light, the sand shields, and Tamar’s vines were all split
cleanly in two in a single instant.
And Elaton collapsed, blood pouring from his chest.
“No!”
As Tamar cried out in horror, enormous vines erupted, overturning the
grassland as they charged toward Gilgamesh.
When Gilgamesh moved his shoulder, dazzling golden flashes danced through the
air.
The vines were chopped into dozens of pieces like bundles of straw, and
Tamar was swept up in the aftermath.
Eshiel rushed over and grabbed her, pulling her back, but her staff was split
in two and blood burst from her abdomen.
Azael let out a roar and poured all his strength into it.
At once, all five great generals rose as spirit forms and stood upon the land.
They charged at Gilgamesh simultaneously.
As Kasirgal, his body cracking all over, released intense cold, frost instantly
formed over Gilgamesh’s head and body.
Marbala and Abarkash layered walls of light and sand over Gilgamesh’s sword and
the arm holding it, trying to interfere with his attacks.
Neragalsu exhaled a powerful poisonous fog over a wide area, while Ashurgar spun
through the air and brought his twin blades crashing down.

Riana hurried to heal her siblings.
She could heal the slashed wounds of Elaton and Tamar, but there was nothing
she could do about the left arm that had been completely destroyed.
Eshiel, drawing power from Bennu, began forming a massive arrow.
A golden vortex.
With Gilgamesh’s spinning slash, the five great generals were flung away in all
directions in an instant.
Their arms, legs, and torsos were severed, but as spirit bodies, they repaired
the damage immediately.
“A usable technique.”
As the five great generals rushed him again, Eshiel, who had been waiting
for an opening, released the massive arrow.
The enormous arrow burned the ground as it hurtled savagely toward the king.
Bang!
An explosion and a cloud of smoke.
But the result was absurd.
The arrow had vanished as if it had never existed.
Eshiel leapt back at once, but was caught in the edge of a sword strike—his bow
shattered, and blood sprayed from his leg.
“Truly… useful.”
The king continued speaking as he blocked the attacks of the charging five
great generals as though dealing with children.
“You are indeed worthy of the name of the Five Great Generals.”
With a vortex of sword strikes, he knocked them away in a single moment.
Then the tip of his blade precisely targeted the neck of Ella, who was
transformed into Riana.
“Run across an endless battlefield with me, forever.”
Blood sprayed from Ella’s neck.
“If you refuse, I will cut off your heads one by one.”
“Kgh…”
Azael ground his teeth, but there was no visible way through.
If Gilgamesh and Thalia wished it, they seemed capable of waging war against
the entire world.
If they did not submit, they would be forced to face their siblings in pieces.
Gilgamesh shouted toward Thalia.
“What are you doing! Bind them all!”
Thalia, her face deathly pale, slowly raised her staff.
For a moment, a red light shimmered around it—then it fell straight to the
ground.
Thalia sank down where she stood, in silence.
And in a murmuring voice, she began reciting an ancient spell in a sacred
language.
As she slowly stroked her abdomen, a faint red glow seeped out.
“Thalia!”
Within that red light, something was writhing, trying to emerge.
Thalia endured the excruciating pain in silence, pouring out all her strength.
Everyone stared at the scene as though time itself had stopped.
And from within that crimson sanctity, something slid free into her hands.
It was a baby.
