Chapter 29. Clash (1)

As if crushed beneath a massive boulder, the ability-users could not lift

  themselves from the ground.

Only Elaton, Kashirgal, and Ashurgar slowly managed to rise to their feet.

The wraith giant, a spiritual entity unaffected by gravity, changed direction

  and charged straight toward Gilgamesh.

As the shrieking giant swung its enormous arm, Gilgamesh slowly raised his

  sword.

And the moment his shoulder moved—

  Boom!

A thunderous roar rang out, as if space itself had burst apart.

The ground along the path of Gilgamesh’s slash split open as though an

  earthquake had struck.

The wraith giant’s body vanished as if half of it had been erased.

As the giant collapsed backward, its remains shattered and scattered into

  hundreds of wraiths.

The wraiths, their blue eyes blazing, swarmed forward like ants, but Gilgamesh

cut them down as if swatting flies.

His golden longsword seemed imbued with divine power; the wraiths crumbled into

dust and vanished the instant they touched the blade.

When all the wraiths had disintegrated into nothing, the invincible king

stepped into the red magic circle.

The first to face him was Elaton.

Gilgamesh smiled coldly, and as his shoulder shifted slightly, another slash

flew out at a speed too fast to see.

With a single blow, Elaton’s shield shattered into pieces.

He barely managed to block the second strike with the Hammer of the Earth, but

cracks began to spread across the unyielding weapon.

Wounds opened along Elaton’s arm gripping the hammer, and blood streamed down.

Just before the hammer could break apart completely, a wall of light suddenly

  formed between them.

Elaton was able to retreat, barely escaping the attack.

When Gilgamesh struck the wall, it shattered instantly.

However, walls of light continued to form without pause, layering around him

  and enclosing him.

The one creating those walls was Marbala.

Azrael had revived both Nergalsu and Marbala as spirit forms using the Dagger

  of Anubis.

The two of them stood calmly, seemingly unaffected by the gravity spell.

  “Aaaah!”

Thalia’s scream rang out. Her once-composed face twisted with malice.

The red magic circle began to pour out a dark, ominous aura.

Everyone trapped in the gravity hell groaned as if pinned beneath a mountain.

  “Ghk—! Kgh!”

It was as though she had decided to kill every enemy with her own hands.

“If you want to live, get out of the way. Generals.”

Gilgamesh gave a cold smile and slid his sword back into its scabbard,

  leaving the rest to her.

Red tears streamed from Thalia’s eyes, and a fierce crimson light poured from

  her staff.

Just as the pressure of death was about to crush everyone completely, a green

spear and dozens of daggers flew toward Thalia.

  It was Nergalsu’s poison magic.

Without lowering the hand holding her staff, Thalia raised a barrier with

  her other hand.

A red wall formed in front of her, blocking the attack—

  but the wall vanished instantly.

With her defense broken, Thalia hastily threw herself aside to evade the

  strike.

Marbala had dispelled the red barrier through purification.

  “Marbala…”

As Thalia faltered, the gravity spell began to lose its power.

Everyone shouted and rushed out of the spell’s range.
