I looked over the wedding planner. Everything had to be for our wedding. “Ruby, you are certain the chains are in place?” I asked the Emerald Kingdom Princess.
She nodded happily. “All accounted for!”
“Oh! I finished my task too! My bird friends sent out all the invites! The General of Tardriss already replied with an excited yes!” Melissa the Beastkin Captain pointed out.
“Yes, my father has always agreed to our marriage.” I said knowingly.
“Why am I here again?” Amanda the Strategist asked me with that same brand of enthusiasm she always had. She had a bored look on her face, and kept throwing evil glances at Princess Ruby. I could understand her pain, Ruby had taken her spot as the second wife.
I was sure Hero would show up with more wives, so I planned ahead and added thirty more slots for a wife to walk down on top of the main five. It was only fair each wife got her turn.
I looked toward the podium and the man tied to hit as he calmly recited his ancient Tardrissian rites. Of course, the ceremonial bed chamber was right behind, set up to be a triple king sized bed with enough chains for everyone! I even added specialized pain balls. I am sure the hero could not wait to use those!
This day would go down in history as the day all the Kingdoms came together under one Hero’s rule. His benevolence and many, many wives and children would cement his legacy, and I, as his first wife, would be the one who achieved it!
I really hoped he liked his wedding gift! I smiled dreamily up at Queen Hiss the Witch’s head sitting on a pedestal wrapped in gift wrap. I truly was the greatest wife ever.
I made my way down the rows and to the podium. “Are the rites in place?” I asked the priest. He looked at me and nodded. “Yes, first wife Alissa. I should be ready very soon.”
“Excellent!” I chirped excitedly as I walked up to the beach area. I looked over the glimmering sea, and the plastic sky in the background. I giggled excitedly and turned around with glee. “Ruby! Fetch my whip! Momma wants some practice!”
I turned around to see that Ruby wasn’t looking at me, she was staring up. I frowned and followed where she was looking. In the sky, above us, a sphere of water had formed and was getting bigger by the second.
Suddenly, Princess Bloom fell down the side of a large hill near the water Sphere. I whistled and called my dragon. After a long moment, he did not appear and I frowned even harder. What was going on?
“Are.. are you sure they are enemies, Hero?” Sapphire asked nervously. She could clearly see all the tags were green probably.
“Yep, definitely enemies. Make sure to drown them all. I said with a smile. “Also, make sure to tell me right before you throw it!”
“Wow that is large!” Bloom said with wide eyes.
“Yea, it is, want a closer look?” I asked innocently.
She nodded excitedly, and I gently walked up, and pushed her off the edge of the hill, causing her to roll down into the middle of it.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
Now, finally, I would have my revenge. And these stupid girls did it for me. Perfect timing! They would all respawn in a week with no memories. The stupid harem route would be extinct, and I could continue trying to find my way out of here.
Okay, Bloom would probably survive, but I could just kill her after the fact. “I am about to throw it, Hero!” Sapphire called out and I grinned.
She leaned back and threw the Sphere of water as hard as she could. I kicked her from behind so she would join them. She yelped as she fell down the hill behind Bloom.
I smiled excitedly at the falling water bomb. This was going to be .
I looked up at the massive sphere of water and smiled. Exactly as I had suspected. The Hero planned to kill us all. Alissa was too delusional and lost inside her love for him to ever see the depths of that man's cruelty.
But I knew, I had seen it first hand dozens of times. I had watched him burn down villages, kill peasants, murder families, torture people. He even mind controlled my commanding officer. The was a glorified psychopath. Now, he has shown his true colors in front of everyone. No one can call me a liar. Especially not after I save them.
I stood and sighed heavily. Activating my ultimate, time stopped and I looked around at the frozen princesses around me. Of course they were just staring, why would any of them even consider escape? Alissa probably tried to summon her dragon, as if Hero wouldn’t have dealt with Blake first somehow.
I walked past the frozen in time princesses and up the hill. I stood next to the Hero as he gleamed madly down at the Princesses who loved him. He hated them so much, he hated us all. But they couldn’t see it. They couldn’t understand. Still, for now, his plan would be thwarted and the problem fixed. But, because I was as petty as him. I jabbed my knife into his skull a few times, then casually climbed back down and found the caster. Princess Sapphire, not her real title, but what everyone called her.
She was extremely powerful and had the divine power of the Goddess of Water. She clearly had cast this, and she would be the one to end it.
I tapped her gently and my time stop wore off on her. She screamed as she came too, but I held her down. “Listen closely, if you don’t remove that water Sphere, pull it away from her or back into you. We are all going to die. Including you.”
I checked my time remaining. thirty-six seconds. I looked back at the Goddess Avatar and shook her. She glared at me. “If we are to die, then it is because the Hero needs us to!” She snapped at me before trying to attack me.
She was very powerful and strong, but not very bright. I redirected her attacks using my reversal skill so she kept hitting herself. She gave up after three hits and began to sob. “But you will be worth so much more to the Hero. He just doesn’t see it yet.” I tried as I looked back at the clock. Twenty-one seconds.
She seemed lost in thought a long moment before her eyes widened. “Was.. was this a test?!” She asked in horror.
I latched on like a drowning fish, which I might just be in a moment. “Yes, if you clean it up quickly he may forgive you!”
She looked at me horrified, before jumping to her feet and holding her hands up to the sphere. Six seconds left, I bit my lower lip. I allowed just the water to unfreeze and Sapphire pulled it all into herself. Time up. I was forcibly and painfully pulled back to where I had been sitting. My body reverted to the exact position I was in, my face as well.
I now sat there, looking bored. sunny toybox skies shined down on us and I sighed in relief. That was a close one. “Amanda! Did you notice that water thing in the sky? It got so big! Then it just.. Vanished?!” Alissa called out as she rushed over to me.
“What water sphere?” I asked curiously.
She looked at me in disappointment. “The massive water ball in the sky Amanda! I swear sometimes you miss the strangest things!” She turned and stormed off, clearly irritated at my laziness. I smiled for a second before catching myself.
Alissa rushed over to Bloom, who was all cut up and severely hurt, but not dead. Sapphire held her head and looked confused as she looked around her. She won’t remember the last minute of time. After all, it happened outside time itself. Most mortal minds aren’t able to handle that. An avatar she may be, but a mortal she is also.
They will both remember being pushed or kicked down the hill certainly. Though sadly, they will rationalize it away like they always have. I looked up at the hill. The Hero most likely respawned by now and was most likely kicking one of the trees. I felt his pain. If only he figured it out, it would have made his life so much easier.
Human players are always so foolish. I speak from personal experience of course.
