I See Dead People and I dont Care

Inside the illustrious estate of the Aurelia family, in the biggest room in one of the minor wings where even servants are rarely seen.

An 8-year-old was slowly waking up at such an early hour that no child that age with no worries in their life would ever wake up.

She got out her plus sized bed with a yawn, her messed out long red hair covering her icy blue eyes, and walked towards the luxurious bathroom connected to her room.

Her gaze slowly talking in the big but mostly empty room as if to make sense of it, while focusing shortly on something unseen from anyone else but her.

Here to her and her alone was some standing corpse so rotten and deteriorate it was merely a red and brown humanoid figure looking at her with empty eye sockets and a jaw barely holding itself by a thin shred of flesh

“ah a hanging jaw so brutal” she merely commented with a yawn as she passed it “Maybe I will rewatch some scenes on MeinTube” then gave her full attention to the tall mirror next to her dresser.

Specifically to the unfamiliar figure staring back at her.

“Err right MeinTube don’t exist and this happened” she remembered herself looking at the unfamiliar reflection for a few moments before she shook her head and let out a disappointed sigh as she made her way into the bathroom.

She took a stool to be able to reach the gold trimmed sink

“At the least they invented plumbing in this pseudo historical novel and I don’t have to deal with a piss jar” she tried to console herself “but I can’t believe I will never get to watch a Serial Slashers marathon ever again” she lamented

‘There wasn’t much going on in my life’ she thought as she started her morning routine.

‘I was just a loser still living with her parents, I couldn’t get a job because I larked any kind of connection or useful skill’ she started by washing her face and hands

‘…and I wasn’t a people person’ she reached for her toothbrush

‘My dog’s company had been enough to keep loneliness away, but eventually we had to say goodbye’ she applied her toothpaste

‘Horror movies had turned into my only source of joy’ she started to mindlessly brushing her teeth

‘I got into them when I was a child, I used to watch them with my older cousin, but no one in my family had ever stopped me from watching more when I really got into them, I mostly enjoyed slashers’ she spit the remains of the toothpaste and turned on the faucet

‘The exaggerated violence combined with cheesy quotes was a perfect combo’ she rinsed her mouth ‘I guess this made me quite desensitized to gore, but I never thought to find myself in a situation where it would be something positive’

‘After all’ she looked straight in the mirror completely unbothered by mutilated corpses all around her visible from the reflection.

The one with the hanging jaw was close to her and staring while others were just hanging around.

They were all so mangled it was impossible to identify them, a simple way to describe them would be bone and meat.

There was no trace of them in anyone else eyes, blood could drip out of them all over the place, but it would disappear just as quickly as they walked away, leaving behind absolutely nothing.

Completely invisible to everyone except for one unbothered horror fanatic.
