I've walked down this road for… How long now? I had no idea. My day just went from bad to worse. I just found out that my boyfriend of three years was cheating on me with my best friend who had recently pushed me away saying that she couldn't stand to see me hanging around the guy that she liked.
I had gotten home from a hard night at work because I worked the night shift ready to just take a shower, eat and go to bed. As soon as I got close to my room I heard moaning noises of people having sex. The noises were coming from my ex-best friend Sarah and my soon to be ex-boyfriend Ryan.
I pushed the door open right when I thought they were getting ready to climax and yelled, "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU TWO ARE TRESPASSING!"
Ryan and Sarah instantly broke apart surprised by my sudden intrusion.
Since it hadn't been that long since I moved into my house so I grabbed the empty cardboard boxes and after setting them up I went into the closet and started packing his things. As I packed, Ryan panicked, "Baby wait, please! I can explain!"
"Save it!" I snapped.
"Yeah Ryan save it. You knew you wanted me in the first place-" Sarah started.
Ryan cut her off, "Sarah not now!"
Sarah chuckled, "Why not now? You've been cheating on her with me for weeks now. And we've slept in her bed every time. I know you're just with her for her money right? Just dump her already!"
"Oh there's no need for him to dump me because I'm dumping him!" I declared.
I impressed myself about how fast I packed Ryan's thing's up while he was begging me to give him another chance. I kept saying no and pushed him and Sarah out the door and out of my house for good in record time.
An hour later I got a call from my grandparents lawyer and I was happy because my grandparents had told me that they would leave me something in their will after they passed. They had died a few days ago and it was time to read the will.
As soon as I showed up at the place where the will was going to be read I met with the lawyer. He sighed, "I don't know how to tell you this, but um… The will that your grandparents left… There's nothing in there for you."
"What!" I gasped. "What do you mean? This has to be a mistake! They… they said that they would leave something for me… Great and after everything I did for them!"
The lawyer shook his head. "I'm sorry but there's nothing for you. I figured I should tell you about it now that way you won't be embarrassed during the reading."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I shook my head. "Oh… I see… Well I guess I'll get going then."
The lawyer nodded. "Sure, have a nice day."
I stood up from the table and left the room and headed out to my car. I tried to get my car to start and it wouldn't start. So I got out and looked underneath the hood. It turned out that someone had taken the battery out of my car. The freaking battery! What the hell! Someone was definitely out to get me for whatever the reason today.
As a matter of fact I have a lot of enemies around and it wouldn't surprise me if one of them did this. Today isn't the first time that I've been backstabbed by people I thought cared about me. I ran into those types of people the moment I was born. That's right, my parents stabbed me in the back when they tried to kill me the day they brought me home from the hospital.
They put me in a dumpster but thankfully someone found me and somehow knew where my grandparents lived and dropped me off at their doorstep. They took me in and showered me with love and affection. Or so I thought. Now finding out that they left me nothing in the will was their love and affection a lie? Was I just a servant for them to look after them until they died?
So that leads me back to where I am right now. After grabbing a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant I started walking aimlessly down the street not caring about where I was going. The betrayal that I felt today was the straw that broke the camel's back. Just another example of every time I tried to get close to someone I thought cared about me, they show that they didn't.
I made a resolve to never care about anyone ever again! Why should I? No one cares about me. Why should I care about them?
I didn't hear the sound of a car horn of an oncoming car until it was too late. I was hit by a car and the last thing I remember was flying a few feet in the air and everything went dark when I landed on the ground.

I stood outside my room on the balcony shaking my head in dismay. "I don't get it. I've had contest after contest and there's still no Demon that fits the bill to take on the position as General Pride!"
"Hmmm, have you tried looking outside of Demons? Maybe it's not a Demon that you need to fill the position of General Pride?" My sister named Bella suggested. "You know the last General Pride was actually a human with some strange abilities."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah I know the story behind that. He used his abilities to exact vengeance on his enemies and the more he exacted vengeance the stronger he became. My father even thought that sending him to Heaven would be good enough punishment considering every punishment he ever handed to General Pride didn't work to keep him in line."
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"Well Pride has always been one of the hardest of the Seven Deadly Sins to control. Even father had an issue with it. Actually sending General Pride to Heaven as a punishment backfired on him so bad that God himself had a bone to pick with him. Not to mention when General Pride got back from Heaven he turned into an Arch Demon," Bella said.
I shook my head again. "Too bad he didn't have a child to inherit the position."
Bella perked up. "Actually, he did have a child but she disappeared a long time ago and went to Earth for whatever the reason."
I paused. "How old would she be now if we were able to track her down?"
"Hmmm, she'd be in human years about thirty-five years old. In Demon years, she'd be about eighty-five years old?" Bella answered. She paused. "Why? Do you think we should try and track her down?" She shook her head. "That's not possible."
I blinked. "What do you mean?"
"Well… One time General Pride disappeared and he didn't want to be found so not even father could track him down," Bella said.
"So you're saying because General Pride didn't want to be found that we don't have a chance in tracking down his daughter?" I said.
Bella sighed, "That's exactly what I'm thinking."
"So what, just throw in the towel without even trying?" I scoffed, "No way! Challenge accepted!"
"Oh by the way, speaking of a challenge there's a new human that's recently died who's been giving the guards a hard time," Bella said. The look on her face told me that she was up to something.
I raised an eyebrow. "What did you do?"
Bella averted her gaze while smirking. "Nothing…"
As if on cue there was a knock on the bedroom door. "Come in!"
A guard came rushing in with a rather disturbed look on his face.
I tilted my head. "What's wrong?"
"Well… Um…" The guard looked as if he was trying to figure out what to say.
I rolled my eyes. "Come on, out with it!"
"The new prisoner is crazy! She's terrorized the other guards to the point where they don't want to come into work if they have to guard her," the guard said.
"Have you punished her?" I asked.
The guard nodded. "Remember your first punishment that you handed to her? Pushing her into the Lake of Eternal Fire? She did a cannonball into the lake and swam in the lava as if it were a swimming pool! She came out of the lake unharmed!"
Bella's jaw dropped. "What!"
"And that's not all," the guard continued. "We've tried every single method of torture on her and nothing's worked. When she started singing or making loud noises in general, we cut off her tongue and put a muzzle on her and she started scratching the walls with her fingers. Not to mention somehow her tongue grew back and the muzzle just didn't work anymore! So we tried cutting off her limbs, burning her etc, etc and nothing worked! Her limbs grew back and she laughed at us as she was being tortured. We tried giving her as a slave to the most ruthless and feared Arch Demons in Hell and she was returned to us by the end of the day!
"We sent her back to earth and once again, she was returned to us by the end of the day. So then we thought that maybe one of the Six Deadly Sins could at least tame her and well…"
"Well, what is it?" I asked.
The guard sighed, "They would like to have a word with you via webcam Your Majesty."
I groaned. "Alright, hand me my tablet."
The guard did as he was told and fired up the webcam for me. What I was greeted with were six angry faces of the Deadly Sins. I frowned. "What's happened with the recent slave that you were given?"
Wrath sneered, "Well her name is Alexis and she's fucking crazy! She pissed me off so bad that I lost my temper and it didn't even faze her! She made me so mad every chance she got and thought it was funny that I was angry at her!"
Envy grit her teeth, "She made me so envious about everything I had panic attacks!"
Greed's face flushed red in embarrassment as he deadpanned. "You don't wanna know what she did to me."
"She outlazied me!" Sloth whined, "It was as if she was lazy all her life before she died!"
Lust groaned. "She wore me out in bed several times!"
Gluttony groaned too. "She outdid me in an eating contest and didn't gain any weight from it at all! Not to mention she ate all of the food out of my fridge every chance she got! I lost weight because of her!"
"What are you going to do about her?" All of them asked at the same time.
Bella got a real kick out of this as she burst into laughter so hard that she couldn't breathe. After a moment or two she finally composed herself. "I knew I saw potential in her! Anyone who can outdo the Eternal Lake of Fire and the Six Deadly Sins I like. Someone needs to take the Six Deadly Sins down a peg or two every once and a while. I'm going to go meet her!" She paused and gave me an evil smile. "I think she's perfect for one of the three open positions that you have yet to fill!"
I raised an eyebrow. "And those are?"
"Well the first position is General Pride obviously, the second one is she could be your right hand woman and the third is she could be your potential future wife!" Bella said with excitement.
I groaned at the last position she mentioned. "I really don't want to think about marriage at the moment!"
"That's because the Princesses that Mom wants to set you up with are all prim and proper and no challenge at all!" Bella fake yawned, "Boooooring! Alexis would definitely be a challenge for you and keep you on your toes. Mom wouldn't be too happy about it but, eh Mom's set in her ways. I'm going to have to talk to her about that. Now I'm going to go meet-"
I cut her off, "Nope! You're not going to meet her while she's still in a dungeon! She's probably dirty and ugly at the moment."
"I don't know about ugly Your Majesty," the guard said.
I looked at him. "Huh?"
"Well she is beautiful despite not having a bath in a while. I've seen some of the guards drool over her but they're too terrified to approach her because of what she's done," the guard explained.
I have no idea why but the thought of my guards drooling over Alexis irked me. "Go and get Alexis, have a female guard clean her up and make sure she is presentable at least and bring her to me. I want to see this crazy woman for myself."
"Yes, Your Majesty," the guard said. He left the room.
When he left I turned to Bella and glared at her. Bella's grin was from ear to ear. "You're welcome!"
I rolled my eyes. "Seriously?"
"You like challenges and she's the perfect challenge for you!" Bella said.
I had forgotten that I hadn't hung up the webcam call when Wrath said, "Are you sure this is a good idea Boss?"
I scoffed, "You guys might not be able to handle her but I'm the King of Hell! Challenge accepted!"
Wrath shrugged. "Alright then, if you say so."
With that I ended that call.
Bella couldn't stop grinning. "Again, you're welcome!"
I scoffed again, "Whatever…"
