Room 355 — Johan's Room
As Johan was already outside, it was understandable that the room was empty.
But Shahryel didn't know that. He didn't recognize Johan's new face—after all, without the mask, Johan looked nothing like the fat "pig" Shahryel remembered.
Shahryel froze in the doorway, his eyes narrowing. "What... the hell?" His voice dropped low, sharp with disbelief.
"Why isn't the pig here? Did he notice we were coming for him? Did he already escape?" His gaze darted around the room, scanning every shadow, every corner. "But that's not like him... Someone as dumb as that pig wouldn't even think of that. Even if he did, he would've run into us."
He clenched his jaw, muttering, "Did I come to the wrong room...?"
Shahryel stepped out of Room 355 and moved to the next.
But Johan wasn’t there.
He checked another room. Then another. Soon, the entire VIP wing echoed with the sound of doors opening and closing as Shahryel searched, muttering curses under his breath.
While Shahryel’s footsteps echoed down the hall…
Meanwhile—
Johan and Fahim still lay on the ground, staring blankly at the ceiling.
Johan finally spoke, “Hey, old man… What’s he doing? Why is he going in and out of every room on this floor?”
Fahim sighed. “How am I supposed to know?”
“Are we gonna be like this forever? Shouldn’t we do something?”
“We already did everything we could,” Fahim replied flatly. “You saw it yourself—we’re not a match for that man.”
“Yeah, that’s true,” Johan said quietly. “We really can’t do anything, can we?”
For a moment, silence filled the air. Then Johan closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, there was something different in his gaze.
“No…” he murmured.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Fahim frowned. “No… what?”
Johan pushed himself up, slowly standing. “I can’t stay like this. I should at least try—until my breath stops.”
Fahim didn’t move. “Do you wanna die? You can’t do anything to him. Fighting him is meaningless. If you do, you’ll really die.”
Johan’s expression darkened. “So what?”
“Huh?” Fahim’s eyes widened slightly.
“He’s gonna kill us after he’s done with whatever he came here for,” Johan said, his voice low, firm. “Are you telling me to just lie here and wait to die? No… I won’t. I can’t accept that. I’m already sick of running. I promised myself I wouldn’t run anymore. Even if I die, I’ll fight until the end.”
Fahim was stunned. Those words—coming from a sixteen-year-old boy—struck deep.
He couldn’t help but be surprised… not just by Johan’s determination, but by the strength of his resolve.
Fahim let out a long sigh and slowly pushed himself to his feet.
“Man… this is why I don’t like kids,” he muttered. “Always making me emotional with those childish words.”
[Ding!]
[You have earned great trust from a person.]
[You’ve earned 1000 CP.]
[You can use CP to level up.]
[Would you like to use all the CP to level up? Y/N]
Johan blinked, startled. Huh? Earning people’s trust can make me stronger? But whose trust did I earn?
He turned his gaze toward Fahim, his face filled with confusion and surprise.
Fahim frowned. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?”
Johan quickly looked away. “Nope, nothing.”
Don’t tell me… I earned this old man’s trust?
[Yeah.]
[Would you like to use all the CP to level up? Y/N]
Johan and Fahim froze as Shahryel’s voice echoed through the hallway. He was coming closer, talking on the phone.
“Hey, are you sure you gave me the right information? I checked every room on the VIP wing, but I couldn’t find that pig.”
Pig.
That single word made Johan’s eyes widen. His chest tightened with an emotion he didn’t want to feel—familiar dread, anger, and something darker. And deep down, he already knew. Shahryel wasn’t here for anyone else. He was here for him.
[What a dumb host.]
[You realized it now.]
[If they weren’t after you, why would I give you an emergency quest?]
This time Johan didn't argue nor did he show anger to the system.
Yeah, I understand now. I’m sorry.
[Anyway, at least you know now.]
[So...]
[Would you like to use all the CP to level up? Y/N]
Yeah, use all of it.
Johan didn’t even look at Shahryel. His voice came out low and dark.
“Hey… did you just say ‘pig’?”
[All the CP has been used.]
[You’ve leveled up.]
[You’ve leveled up.]
A deep hum filled the air. Johan’s aura burst outward, surging and twisting violently. The ground beneath his feet cracked as pressure filled the corridor. His power now rivaled Shahryel’s.
Johan’s eyes glowed faintly as he glared ahead. His voice was cold and sharp.
“Who are you?”
