It's been three years since that day, and my memories of the incident haven't faded yet, though they probably will sooner or ter. It better be ter.
Three years and no clues uncovered, only the haunting thought that my faith in Till was misguided.
'No, it can't be. I knew him; he would have never done that of his own volition.'
Recalling that day, tears slid down my cheeks, diamonds melted by anguish and misery. One happens to nd on my arm, my right arm, one used as alleged proof of my brother's suffering of psychosis, the scars that wouldn't heal, scars that wouldn't fade from my or others minds, though I don't want them to fade; they drive me to search for the real truth, and for as long as they remain and for as long as I live, I will strive to prove them wrong, to remove Till's name from all books on psychos and killers.
As I was listening to my internal monologue, my phone vibrated, then stopped. Pulling it out of my pocket and turning it on, to my surprise, I saw 5 missed calls and 3 messages from Caleb.
The calls all seemed to have happened while I was lost in thought, each one within a minute of the other, and the messages reading
"Yo, where are you?"
"You better not be scking off."
"Hey, I took time off my schedule for this."
Reading these, I got the impression that if I don't at least call, I'll regret it.
"Hey Caleb, how are you today?"
"Hey, don't hit me with the How was your day? I've been calling for an hour. Why aren't you responding?"
"Sorry, something important came up, and I got distracted."
"Yeah, you definitely were distracted, but it wasn't important. You were thinking about your brother, weren't you?"
"Yeah, I know you and my sister believe in him, and I do too, but if you don't study, you can't be a detective, much less a chief detective."
"Yeah, I know where you are; I'll go there now."
"I'm in the psychology department."
"Huh, why are you there? We have criminology ter."
"I know, but there are rumors that a group of armed men is having a tussle near there, so better be safe."
"That's insane. I'm near the criminology department, and I don't see anyone."
"Well, if you say so, but you better be quick, or I WILL leave you to study alone."
"Okay, okay, enough with the threats. I'll be there soon."
hanging up the phone I get hit with an intense feeling; my body starts shivering, and my heart beats faster.
Thinking I could be sick, I try sitting down; however, it suddenly subsides, but not before a question pops into my head should I [GO MEET CALEB] or [KEEP ON WALKING].
